Great stuff bud! Thanks for posting everything....including the meltdown. It helps people realize what can happen. Sorry for your luck....and your cash.
Just running across your page, you had two engine rebuilds. Industrial Injection built one and that engine went south.. Not the company to buy a high performance engine. Unless you're drag racing or tractor pulling, the down time is not worth it. The price of both engines, the labor and not making money while the truck is down. $30,000+ down the drain. Not to mention your labor and towing. I will keep checking back to see how it goes. Good luck with your truck. I'm starting on my F/C Project and a good page with tons of info. Thanks
That's too bad the engine let go like that..... It would have been a really nice swap.... Hope you can get a good engine and fix it once and for all.... Should be able to get over a million miles on a good engine.... I have seen it done... Use quality oil and keep the oil clean.... Thanks for sharing the video.
the driver was the problem. had his foot in it to long and wasn't watching the pyro gauge. I was able to get another engine and get it installed and it has been running for a few months now and is still running strong. I pull around 30000 lbs every day and that's why the need for all the power.
Great Video Series!! Liked !! I am thankful that you got it all worked out!! How has the Ford transmission you used holding up? And is the 2nd cummins still doing great?
What a waste, I've had a stock 1995 cummins 12 valve for 20 years, I expect to get another 20 out of her. All the extra crap to get more power just really seems to make them unreliable, so whats the point ? Good luck my friend.
Well we move over 32000 lbs with these trucks and rebuilding the 6.0 every 3 to 6 months was very costly and the cummins is cheap to rebuild and to make big power with. The 6.0 was just full of failur prone problems that could keep the truck down for days at a time. Now that I have a combo of parts that work and well trained drivers I have had very little problems out of the 3 fords I have swapped.
That engine was $18000. Thay gave me a great deal on another one for $8000 due to it was only run for 2500 mile. I have a water injection on the new one to keep that from happening again.
so 2 cummins engines later and people say 6.0l r bad lmfao good luck seams like to much goin wtong for u also i thought fire rings r used racing not towing
Well the cost of rebuilding the 6.0 is just ridiculous. And I can rebuild the Cummins for under a grand. And we use the firering because of 45 lbs of boost and higher at times. The first engine went due to high egt for a prolonged period of time when driver should have down shifted and got the rpm up to bring the temp down. The second was a 4 to 2 shift over spinning the engine and killing the valves.
@@davidhyde4997 Wait...the second failure where the pistons were impacting the valves was driver error? Wha-? Yours is the best build I've seen thus far. Would be quite interested in seeing an update video...
@@RX7GSLSEowner yes driver error. Down shift to to low a gear and over spun the engine for what value train I had in it. Just kept upgrading until I found a combo that the drivers couldn't hurt. The truck known as big hause has over 80,000 mile on the engine and still running strong enough to snap the yoke of the rear end. But unfortunately my camera broke shortly after the last video and dont have the funds to invest in a good camera. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@davidhyde4997 Ah I see. What ended up being the combination that the driver's couldn't hurt then? I understand WRT camera purchase, but hell your stuff was so good, I'd be glad to just see it off of a smart phone camera! Best Fummins conversion on the Internet IMHO.
You should not need more than 15 pounds of boost with a good intercooler for normal applications. 40lbs is for racing. Next time rebuild your own engine. You'll do a better job.
Well this is not a normal application. We pull over 30,000 pounds daily with these trucks so we need all the power and torque we can get without destroying the trans. Witch the ford trans has proven to take all the abuse we can throw at it.

wow make me glad i just left the ole 6.0 in.
I feel like this was the builders problem not the driver

No warranty due to melt down. But thay come with a 1 year warranty as long as the egt stays in check.

i would be pissed are they paying for your labor time
wHAT SIZE TURBO 12MM OR 14MM
Rip
Hey David, so what happened? Did they honor the warranty? What are you running now?
Thay did honor the warranty to an extent due to it being a driver error. Has compounds on it with a meth injection now. Running stronger than ever
