I took this flight a few times over the years, using both American points and Alaska points. I was skeptical when I first booked it because of the unusual 2-3-2 configuration on the 777. But it was one of the best seats I’ve had for sleeping. The seat well, unlike on many other planes, is roomy and with size 12 feet, I need that room. Food out of SFO is usually a hit or miss situation, but in Business, JAL has been consistently good, particularly with the Japanese meal. Service, as is the case with ANA, is impeccable. It’s efficient without being intrusive.
Thank you for sharing your experience! I’ve always heard great things about JAL business class and now I understand. It was a very relaxing flight and the service was outstanding!
@@rjantti83 You’d have to ask my wife. We were next to each other on the right hand 2 seat side. She had the window and I had the aisle. The other airlines I’ve taken on a similar route leave SFO (my home airport) at night. But looking at FlightAware, it might be the case that you could see some of the Aleutian Islands, depending on cloud cover.
You’ll have to book almost year in advance for more availability or just days before the flight where we were able to book using 60K American Airlines miles each one way. We booked it 3 days before our flight.

Have you ever happened to notice if you can see Alaska at any point during your flight?

Another great video!
Thank you! Have you flown Japan airlines before?
No i haven't but i plan to in the future. Looks like they have good service.
@treasurehunter1713 very hospitable service! You’ll enjoy it!
Thank you. It's a great airline. You need to try their A350s from either NY or Dallas to Tokyo in their new business class seats. They are PHENOMENAL!
That’s the next flight we want to try!!!
Well, that’s a weird flight path, eh? 🤔
Thinking to take this flight…question no lounge? 😢
There’s a lounge but we were staying at the Grand Hyatt connected to the airport so there was no need to go to the lounge.
@@BevandRyan i was in japan 🇯🇵 last year. I miss it already
@GKBarlahan we miss it too 😭
I'm going to visit Japan in October with my son. I as going to fly economy, however, this seems very tempting to upgrade. Any tips? Thanks. lol :)
