That was a good idea with the valve cover to make it have baffling. The catch can looks really cool too!
Much appreciated
Dave , clayton ,....great job co motorsports. 2024 will be a great year!! Gonna have to get me a co sticker for my sluice box😂
Thanks.
man, where have you guys been all my life? I've been a rabbit guy for 20+ years. I've been watching all these different youtube channels and builds about Hondas because there just isn't any good channels on VW. So glad i found you guys. This is exactly the content i was looking for. i just finished the playlist for the 1000hp 16v drag car and I'm impressed. Hell yea 16vFTW!!!!!!!!! Is that orange rabbit still around? It used to be my wallpaper background on my computer years ago. i was shocked when i saw it and it brought me right back to my vortex days.
Thanks for following along. The MK1 will hopefully be in the shop later this year to get it's full mk7 golf r conversion. AWD, gen3 built engine big turbo and on and on.
First episode I’ve seen of you grafting away, more the merrier ❤️
Love that you guys are putting out more videos lately! It literally makes my evening. Keep up the good work.
Appreciate it, we're trying.
Pretty impressive custom fabrication Dave! Love all the content and always look forward to the next video coming out.
Much appreciated, thanks for following along.
Great placement idea on the catch tank, I’m gonna use the old heater fan holes the same
Good job on the valve cover David, pretty neat my dude
Epic & Co, as always 😁👍
This was a frigging awesome video.
❤️
really good job guys, i'm also do welding /milling /lathing and you really make great stuff. NIce car nice work, we powerfully appreciate that 💪
Appreciate it, we still really don't know how to properly use the lathe or mill but we make due for the projects we have. Anything that requires any sort of tolerance I just send out.
awesome work, very excited for this car. kind of at the point of full race car but maybe cut up a mk4 dash so you can at least mount stuff to it?
There's nothing left to mount, aside from parachute and fire suppression which neither without be mounted to the dash anyways.
LOVE when there is fab content!!! Will you need a valve on the breather line to prevent fluid dumping out under acceleration onto the track? A seal needed on the top of the catch can needed per rules at all also?
The can is designed to basically hold the entire contents of the engine (about 5L of oil).
@@COMotorsportsI fukn love it!! Baffles inside to prevent rearward sloshing and such, or direct discharge from the inlets I assume as well?
@@UngluckInc Yes baffle inside, Clayton filmed that on his phone and it never got added to the video. So all inlets half to go around a baffle inside before exiting out breather tube to back of car. Just to prevent slosh or anything. However checking/draining this will be part of the between passes checks/maintenance.
@@COMotorsports fucking Clayton!! Awesome, I recently had a guy come in with this maasssiiivve and very good loking catch can. no baffles, etc, the inlets pointed at the outlets and pretty much shot straight out into the bay under WOT lol...DAVE...MORE FAB CONTENT!!!
Awesome work!
The baffling looks damn good. Would it be possible to put a small vacuum pump on the catch can breather, or would that cause more problems than its worth?
This will hopefully make a decent difference, and be all we need.
Big machining/plasma work Dave.. so interesting what you made to have baffled aluminium valve cover. What you achieved with that bit more oil supply, low temp to cams/valves? Huge Customizing CoMotorsport!
It's main purpose is to keep the oil in the engine instead of in the catch can. Hopefully this new valve cover idea helps.
Finally someone who knows that lexan is the brand name see if you can find the mar resistant it should have green not blue film
What events are you running this season? Hope to see you guys down at New england and at maple grove🍻
It will all come down to how well we can get the car sorted here. If we can make some decent passes here than we'll be looking at different events to travel too. If we're struggling here, we'll stay struggling here until we get it dialed. :)
Are the catch can fittings -12an?
yes
ABF 2.0 16V?🤔
Me gustaria que fuera traducido al español 😅🇨🇱saludos
No dash, Thanks!
Can't then you enough. Much appreciated.
What the average cost to rebuild a 2.0 out of a mk7R.
All depends on what's required, how involved you want to go, quality of parts used, and power goals.
When's there more hoopty content coming, I'm shooting for your record with an agu, in the UK, I'm at 400 on am unopened engine new fuel system this year and bb turbo and shooting for over that 600 mark
Unsure at this point, I have another engine set aside for it but we have larger fish to fly currently.
@COMotorsports can't wait to see it again lol are you hoping for more when it's back together?
@benjaminsmith5342 I think I could make more, but since it's not a practical application I doubt that's what were going to do. I have something else a bit different in mind for it.
@COMotorsports can't wait to see it mate
TLC :)
No dash!
You should sell these. I’m down to pre pay.
(Valve cover)
I'm working on a billet valve cover actually. This was just an easier option at this point to get us going and test a few things regarding clearances.
Junk the AN lines they are restrictive
