Doing well with DVDs thanks to your advice while I was building up stock. My best sale last week was $80 for two seasons of the little hobo that I paid $1.50. All my highest listings are for ghost hunting series. 👻 I've done well on the obscure titles & my only other tip would be that Christian DVDs for kids & adults sell well. Three dvds in tomorrow's post. Just hit $5k for 80 days & 500 listings. And got a new accounting job. Chaos!
Are you in America? Any advice for a brand new seller? I made an account, gonna start with DVDs, as they seem like a good intro to eBay selling item. And I have plenty to start listing.
Have totally taken this advice on board with my reselling. Picked up three bulk lots over the last three weekends at about the 50c a piece. Made my money back on the first lot with just three sales. I also make sure I grab the sealed stuff and in doing so stumbled on Janus Season 1 which has comps of about $100 pre-owned!
I look forward to your uploads every single day. Thank you for this kind of content. I've just started buying to start the ebay flip life, and actually bought my first dvd's today. Fingers crossed!
Dude great to see you're still killing it. I remember commenting about dvd's one of your videos a good while back. I'm totally still sleeping on them! I see dvd's every time I'm out game hunting really have to start picking them up most places I pop into do 3 for €1 and there's one even sells 10 for €1. I already own about 1000 from when I used to collect sure worst case I'd just be adding to that. Really need to bite the ebay bullet and just start putting stuff up.
Always sell shoes & clothes and now here goes me selling DVD’s 😉. Love it, mastered clothes, mastered shoes, now time to add another item to the list! Thanks brotha
I've learnt alot from these videos this year- Thankyou...it is still is crazy to me that DVDs sell so well and regularly too- 2 I've sold lately that were picked up for $1 or 2 each have got me $120 for just 2 DVDs! I love finding good new and sealed for $1 I'm obsessed with finding them :)
I am so happy for you if you're making that on DVD's good for you. You're doing excellent much better than taking it to a pawn shop. Who's only gonna offer you 10 cents? So you're doing good. The problem here in Canada was selling DVD's is thit's after eBay takes the fee. And the advertising fee and the postage You're left with .50 cents and the movie sold for $7. So if you're making that kind of money you're doing really good.
I'm looking forward to this usa trip content so much! I feel like in New Zealand its hard to sell DVD's. I will try with some complete seasons at some point though.
Yeah DVDs are one of my big categories. I'm still tweaking my sourcing, but it is getting better. I never pay more than $2, usually $1 or Vinnies does their 50% on a coloured sticker and I can get them for 50 cents. I always grab sealed DVDs first. Generally regardless of comps if it is sealed I will pick it up. I gravitate towards television series as well. I like the UK stuff. That seems to have a good base of people interested. There is no better feeling than finding a unique season or box set for cheap that comps up high. It's like you've struck gold on the spot.
Excellent work I am buying those envelopes now as I have had a few go missing with Aust post ( shock horror ) Can’t wait for the vids from the states Enjoy I’m off to Fiji.
Going well with the DVD sales, always picking up at the op shop & I take a trip to the tip shop about once a fortnight, scored some great Anime last weekend.
Honestly, I’m only watching this because I’m trying to get rid of my old dvds - declutter, streaming, etc etc. I really want to make something instead of donating because I swear to god there’s a lot of value there. I don’t really see much downside other than time to be honest. Curious to see how this goes, thanks for the tutorial.

Interesting video as usual, but I can't believe you didn't mention Region 0. I usually quickly clean DVDs with isopropyl alcohol and a clean rag. Improves them no end!
You caught some great vintage buys! Love those Jordan shoes you had authenticated. I got a little concerned for you walking down that ally- your in LA ( not in Kansas anymore). I’m from California originally. LA is no place to mess with when you see bars on windows and Gang signs… good thing it was day time …. Because shootings are rampant there at night….. Just being a mom….. I know your a grown man……. Take care!
I've been doing DVD's for about 6-7 years now and its changed considerably during that time due to Netflix and the other streaming services online. Britbox and Acorn have hurt me most because I used to sell a lot of BBC series. Prices have come down - movies don't sell anymore and competition is up. Saying all that if you find the right stuff there is still good money to be made if you are very selective. Region 1 will sell in Australia because a lot of players are All Region players but its true that you can get returns in fact it happened to me 2 days ago.
When I list other region DVDs it’s the first thing I put in the title “REGION 1 The Wedding Singer” example. No returns if I stated it clearly in the listing.
@@emusaurus Yeah some people just don't realise. I had NTSC on the listing and it was All Regions NTSC but obviously didn't realise and there is no point pushing it because eBay will nearly always come out on the side of the buyer.
@@TheAussieFlipper I tend to go though cycles of growth and then nothing for a while and at the moment I haven't been listing much at all and I'm getting lower sales than ever before. I'll start listing again soon and it comes back reasonably quickly.
I got a fair few seasons from a Thrift/Op Shop recently however the discs and cover were removed from the cases and put in plastic sleeve type things (similar to CD wallet what people would use in car or in backpack back in the Discman days) Wondering is it worth putting back in cases or sell as is? 🤔
I struggle to find a complete series without a few marks on a disc. There is always at least one dvd thats not perfect. Do you always only sell 100% perfect dvd, with no marks at all?
@@TheAussieFlipper awesome! It looks like the medium ones on Aus post are $2.50 each (10 or more $1.50each) the ones you use are $4.50? Is that because you have to pay for the postage labels?
Here's question for you Matt, what do you do if you find a great comping TV show, maybe even complete, and there are none sold. Worth grabbing and maybe sitting on for ages? I did find a good comping dvd set, op shop wanted $10, comped for about 80. But yeah none sold so I left it on the shelf as I'm a fairly new reseller!
You do usually like to see a few sell but $10 - maybe you could undercut the market and sell for $50.. still a good result and you might be the first sold comp for someone to go by for market value.
hey mate, how would you reckon i ship out a set of two regular sized books? shipping seems a bit insane in australia, i was thinking the small satchel, what do you think? it‘s only a two set so i thought there might be a cheaper way. love your videos, they’re a big help since i haven’t seen many australian creators floating on youtube, cheers :)
I mainly do DVD sales but generally buy them in bulk. You do get some real rubbish mixed in but you also find a few gems (a tub of Dragon Ball Z in my last load). My last load also had a load of region 1 and I don't sell overseas so I have just bulk auction listed them to dump them along with the less desirable DVDs. Anyway I have a quick question, if you are selling for $10 do you turn the offers off or limit them? If you leave the default of 50% then you will be selling for a loss at $5 regardless of the cost of the DVD and my experience is if you don't say yes to offers they just don't come back.
Yep I’ve done a fair bit of bulk and now I’m cherry picking. As for best offers I tend not too on low priced items like below $15 ones for that very reason. I figure it’s so cheap anyway they can pay full price. Thanks for watching keep charging!
When it comes to postage, Canada don't have that Option to be able to buy all those envelopes with tracking. Here in Canada it works like this. tracking is $20. So the way we do it up here is. Anything under 100 grams =$220 to mail then 100g - 200g = $360 then 300g -400 g is $500 And again to get tracking that's expedited shipping in Canada. It Comes with $100 insurance on top of the box.for $20 And tracking so, so in Australia, you can really kill it. Selling movies, but in Canada, not so much.. Thanks for the video though
Great video mate ! Just question would it apply for UK ebay? These days people wants 0.50-1£ per dvd , and you would probably get 2-3£ on ebay , so hardly any profit.
do people you buy from FB mkt plc know you're a reseller when you turn up? Is it assumed? Do you have to spin a story about wanting them for your collection? I'd imagine also a lot of the sellers are also resellers getting rid of their useless stock. Some of the typical conversations would be interesting to know to be prepared.
