I think gambling prevents us for experiencing the natural, human emotions associated with life's experiences. We don't remember the 'good' times because we weren't living 'in the moment' but, likewise, we also don't experience negative emotions to the same degree (which sounds like a good thing but isn't, imagine being distracted by an open bet whilst you're at a funeral...not healthy). Good video and an interesting topic. Keep safe mate - Phil

Absolutely Phil. I think you would do a better job putting across what I meant but the general jist I think comes across.
      Hope you and family well.

Keep going mate, absolutely brilliant to hear you still clear.

@@secondchanceaddiction7619 greatfull for your reply love the channel an I know that I gotta win the fight but is the fight ever won really I tried over an over year after year for close on 30 years now I fool myself to think I'm in control an perhaps 8 out of ten I am I actually can walk away an spend winnings but my girlfriends worried I'm growing more an more reliant on needing that win so I know this again it's the cycle I know it so well I spend as fast as I win to Not blow it back witch was an old trait for far to long a painfull torturous hell of a feeling but in those days of madness only relief I found was to lose fast an have food an make it try the week then next pay check I'd actually be like two beings inside one arguing to go an not to go doing aeiny meiny miny moo to see if fate would deside but even if moo pointed home I'd selfishly tell myself go on you might win an then take day of work but I couldn't leave back then . Now I kinda mostly if honest leave an update things but I still tent to want to hord a few hundred to gamble it's crazy mate it's some crazy demon like thing but I reckon meditate an control of self in the end is all I have because I'm burnt out drinking to since 9 years old an admit I'm so fucked up on drink that I was better in the casinos the lesser evil for me but I got a kick it all just seems lifeless then but I bought two kayaks lately and go fishing alot I'm turning life around mate but that pull to gamble is always strong sometimes mega strong

Thank you your kind words re the channel mate. Much appreciated.
To me having read your comment through I think there are positives and of course negatives.... Things that your already doing that is good and also things I would recommend doing.
So the buying kayak and fishing is something I think from what you say will benefit you and its a distraction from your cycle
I use that word so much but to me it plays such an important part In breaking away from addiction
The thing that stands out is that weva it is to buy booze or gamble, your currently in control of your own finances.
Now it's not for everyone and I get the male pride thing in that we don't like to be treat like children but I cannot recommend enough that if possible, you hand over finances to someone close and someone you trust for a period of time, even a short period of time. If you need money for bills, work etc then I would ask them to transfer the exact amounts in and not a penny more. This for me will help you through those urges, through those wars in your head saying do it ya might win do it escape etc because even if your urges are soooo strong, if you haven't got access to finances it's a barrier against actually having a bet.
You may not find that option possible or want to but I would defiantly give it a try even for a short period.
Other than that on the gambling front maybe try bookies self exclude and gamstop for online self exclusion. Again, just putting more barriers in place so even when urges are so strong, you are less likely to be able to actually gamble.
There is other things you could try which I've spoke of in my other videos.
On the drink mate I obviously do not know you personally but if you have been drinking for that length of time I would hazard a guess that you are to some extent drinking to escape something mentally. Maybe a past experience or trauma. If that's the case I would, even if already tried it, look at councelling and really getting everything out in the open, however hard it is. If its drinking out just routine and the love for it then maybe again look at breaking that cycle, Money to obtain drink can be a part and if so see earlier in the comment.
Tomorrow I am releasing what I hope will be a powerful video on alcohol addiction, I hope watching it helps people get help and speak out.
I will point out I am only speaking from experience and just offering my opinion on how you can help get yourself better. I'm no expert but I care.
Feel free to comment and I will always get back to you or follow me on twitter and dm me.
I wish you all best and let me know how you getting on.
