    Is there a general "for this archetype the most likely win condition is..." type of thing to start with while working to develop the sense of what our personal win condition is in each situation?

    • @alessandrozucchelli4090
      @alessandrozucchelli4090 3 года назад +11

      I mean, generally yeah you can say for assassins it's splitpushing or covering splitpushers (thinking about evelynn) so that opponents split and you can pick them; adcs is mostly teamfighting, but there's exceptions such as samira who can split. I think it really depends on the champ's kit itself, and even perhaps on your teamcomp

    • @sunfire5518
      @sunfire5518 3 года назад +7

      @@alessandrozucchelli4090 actually every adc has to split to a certain extend. You can see that in some guides here too.

      @@sunfire5518 actually actually most adcs cant split vs most teams. Since splitting is only possible if u can at least 1v1 an enemy. In most cases this is not the case for the adc. So splitting as adc will most likely lead to the adc dieing.

    • @kadalix
      @kadalix 3 года назад +13

      @@mallotm403 yeah, you definitely need some dueling power to split push
      but what i think sunfire551 meant was side laning to farm and such, not to pressure towers (maybe a bit of pressure since the wave goes bye bye if no one comes but that's about it)

    • @Biditchoun
      @Biditchoun 3 года назад +5

      ADCs usually can't split, but anyone can split if the ennemy team is araming mid without paying attention to the sides, that's why we've seen ADCs splitpush in guides on here.

    Good video. Liked that it just wasn’t a team fight guide or split push o. Overall helped me to look for win con depending on my champ and team comp.

    • @Kamishi845
      @Kamishi845 3 года назад +3

      If you watch Coach Curtis, this is what he refers to champion identity, that each champion has their own identity in order to be successful. If we take Vladimir for example, he wants to farm early and not fall behind during the laning phase and once mid game starts, rotate and side lane while he can keep scaling. He also wants to shove out the side lane and rotate to group with his team for team fights, though if the enemy side laners are weaker than him, he can also look for solo kills.
      This is why it's bad to play many different champions because you don't get to fully grasp their different identities/win cons because you just don't play them enough.
      Yone is a champion with many win cons for example, which depends a lot on his lane and matchup. In top lane he usually he just wants to chill since he loses most top lane matchups early, and the same is true for mid until level 3 where he can begin to look for trades. But sometimes he can look for very aggressive early plays where he wants to win his lane hard from the get go too. Again that just depends a lot on the matchup. Yone can also be a strong side lane menace similar to how Illaoi was played here but he can also be more of a shove and group style depending on what you want to do in that game and who the enemy side laners are. When to do what is really just something you can only learn from having played the game with that champion a bunch.

    Feels like this video was on the right track but failed to make it into a formula since they explained a more multi-step win condition.
    Win Condition => Lane Phase: Purpose to get the gold/pressure/map opened necessary for x, y, z.
    Win Condition => Mid Game: Expanding on the previous win condition to setup for x, y, z.
    Win Condition => Anytime: Using the setup from last win condition to coordinate a final push and destroy nexus.
    Example.
    1st Win Condition: Requirements (Passive Setup, E, Ultimate)
    Illaoi's win condition is to deny enemy farm in their counter match-up and force jungle pressure off their allies laners in order to give their own jungler a chance to snowball other lanes.
    2nd Win Condition: Requirements (Passive Setup, E, Ultimate, Cross Map Objective, Ally Pressure)
    They use this 1v2 pressure and gold lead once the tower is taken to threaten 1v2/3 pressure on deeper objectives allow their team more time on cross map plays with numbers advantage and the lead of no jungle pressure given earlier from Illaoi's laning phase's win condition.
    Final Win Condition: Requirements (Passive Setup, E, Ultimate, Cross Map Objective, Ally Pressure)
    Once Heralds/Dragons have opened the map and it's post-20 they've setup the gold disparity and dragon control enough in order to go for one final split push that will lead to a Dragon Soul or Baron Buff. Afterwards any successful 1v2/3 or Teamfight will enable a team push take the enemy nexus and win the game.
    Punish Win Condition
    Enemies either frightful of Illaoi's split push or blind end up ignoring her split push long enough to secure nexus.
    I think it's very important to have an understanding of the process for winning league of legends so you don't get stuck deciding what to do in the middle of game when options are plentiful (including bad ones) and windows of oppertunity or closing and opening all the time. It'll also help to understand the flow of multi-step win-conditions so you can tell whether your allies can even perform the next step or better how to see your enemies win condition so that if it comes to no cost to you you're able to intervene in their win condition.

    My first season was season 11. I’m a mid player and I started my ranked climb at Bronze IV (I know. very low) and I stayed there for a long time. Eventually, I got to Bronze III but it took most of the season and I was very stuck after that pinging between IV and III. However, I ended last season in Silver III and it happened pretty much all at once at the end. I went on absurd win streaks which was surprising because I only changed three things:
    1) I played one and only one, simple champion. I used to play all kinds of things TF, Zed, Talon, Ekko, Orianna, Galio, etc. Honestly, the list was large. Now, I play Annie. I had gone almost a whole season where my most played champion had 20 games. I’m now approaching 200 on Annie and lemme tell you, it makes a difference. Feeling comfortable and at home in a champion you know well, helps so much. Every skill improved all at once: cs, matchups, wave manipulation, roaming, objective control, skirmishing, lane fights, 1v1s.
    2) I stopped throwing away leads and let the enemy throw theirs. The tip really woke me up when I heard it. I was told “Don’t force things to happen. It’s low elo, the opportunities will come to you. People mess up often, you just gotta be able to see it.” Misposition there, bad fight here, objective given there. No vision, throw away self-peel ability. I would just clutch onto any opportunity given. I was surprised how often that secured leads or flipped games
    3) Like this video says: win conditions. Reminding myself which actions mean victory constantly helped not only help me decide what to do or react appropriately but kept me on track. No more throwing a game because for one second I forgot what my goal is.
    I was surprised it was that simple. No other special tricks. Every other skill came naturally over time. One, simple to grasp champion. Patience. Win conditions. Jumped up a whole tier. Hopefully, I can get to gold this time around. Felt so far before but now it feels so close.

      He is, though he forces 1v1s out of 1v2s and 1v3s. That's why he's such a terrible champion late game since he can't really front line like other juggernauts can, because as soon as he ults someone he disappears with the person he ult'd. So he's just generally a lot better going to a side lane chilling while doing his thing.

    • @Reddotzebra
      @Reddotzebra 2 года назад

      @@Kamishi845 Which means that his actual lategame win condition is to splitpush right?
      Any champion that has the ability to trade up 1v1 like Fiora requires the enemy team to either send their best to deal with you or to collapse on your lane, and Morde can basically make that an even 1 for 1 trade every time with his ult, since he's garbage at teamfights anyways that means he can at least remove one big threat from the enemy side in exchange for dying to the rest, or ideally just sweep the one guy that comes after him and then go hunting for their towers again with the bonus stats he just stole from them.

      @Bladius_ 2 года назад +1

      @ You misunderstood; your wincon CAN include your team ("I need to frontline") the idea is not getting tricked out of your own personal wincon.
      In game A you could identify, based on team comp, "My wincon this game is splitpush". In game B you identify the wincon is "I need to engage"; you need to stick to that. It can be flexible based on context too, if you get turbo-inted you can pivot to "I need to force them to answer my push", or you int and your wincon becomes "Live long enough for my team to do some damage at objectives".
      Look at (most) ADCs; their wincon basically always has to include teammates by default because of the nature of the role ("My wincon is to attack while X, Y, Z peel and frontline"). This is one of the reasons ADC agency is the lowest in the game. A few can trasition into splitpushers (eg- Lucian) when fed, or engagers if they have the right ult for it (eg- Aphelios R root) but most are resigned to relying on allies.

    the problem is that in solo Q even if you try to stick to your known win condition, there'll be times where you may fall for the wrong decisions. like if you play a juggernaut top like mordekaiser/sett/darius, your win condition is to win your lane early since these champs are very powerful early game and become giant raidbosses that noone can really stop. but then you see your team doing a dumb teamfight ( usually in soloQ) and they blame you for not dying like and idiot alongside them.now instead of sticking to your splitpushing raidboss win condition you have to aram with your team cause their ego might implode and start trolling/go afk/ff. or start chasing very mobile champs as an immobile champ yourself. let the enemies come to you , not the other way

      Depends on the jungler and the matchups. Junglers want to facilitate their laners as much as possible but also focus on themselves. Eve wants to hit level 6 as soon as possible for example, and then just use her ult to execute low targets. In comparison Lee Sin is an early aggressive jungler and wants to look for 2v2 skirmishes he can win early like around scuttles and other objectives. I think timers are very important when playing Lee Sin, and just a good sense of tempo. A good Lee Sin can completely set the tempo of the game and never give it back. Viego is flexible but is a glorified Master Yi in that he wants to clean up low enemies to get his passive reset and just cockblock the enemy team, so he prefers chaotic game states so it's easier for him to get the reset he needs. It doesn't mean it should be a complete fiesta, but Viego values fighting as long as it's favorable to him. Since he has low mobility and a bad cc he also prefers going to lanes that can set up cc for him. Compare to Diana who can skirmish but really shines the best in team fights etc.

      I don't think is usually the right thing to do, not with any supp at least. If you are Yuumi then i guess that is what you'd like to do, but if you are any other kind of support other than enchanters then you are usually just sucking away experience from another laner and exposing your ADC to a 1v2. Just phisically being there as a supp can change the interaction with the enemy and make them think twice about engaging. If I see a low gold ADC that is pushing it's luck by farming sidelanes because his supp left him favoring another fed laner then I am going to jump that ADC every time it pops up on the map.

    • @arkahique

      As a main Support the problem with that role is that it's really impossible to carry games (while a Jungler can feed himself with camps at least). McBaze approach to Illaoi is very interesting. DirtyMobs has actually mentioned that he feels Illaoi is not nearly as bad grouping up for teamfights as people think she is.
    However, I definitely do not think McBaze's take is as black and white as 'never group ever', either. Mobs mentions that sometimes you do, sometimes you don't, and a lot of that has to do with how much of the team's potential you actually are. If you are essentially THE team then it stands to reason that if your team wants to seriously group for anything you need to be there or they stand no chance.
    But I have also ran into plenty of instances where it was better to just take my lead and run it through a lane by myself dragging the enemy to me simply because my team has shown zero ability to make serious, committed team decisions.
