I can see where some are coming from with the "survival" bit - but "post-apocalyptic"? Nah, hardly. The Apocalypse has never happened in STALKER universe, it was just a local failed scientific experiment that happened on the territory of CEZ causing the arise of CAZ. Only the CEZ territory was affected by it, the rest of the planet is totally fine (so far at least, by the end of original trilogy's events).
@@F1stzz I understand that only the CEZ is affected, but since the whole playable area is affected by the consequences of the failed experiment, it feels post-apocalyptic since you can't really visit areas that are not affected, and you can only synthesize that it is the case from dialogues with NPCs
@@osm3008 you said it yourself: it's affected by the consequences of the failed scientific experiment - precisely what Sci-Fi is. That experiment didn't cause the destruction of the world - merely the arise of Anomalous Zone coexisting with the rest of the world. Not an apocalypse - an accident.

Unlikely its going to be as modifiable as the original This new game is on unreal, which has a notoriously bad history of modding on its current models due to very strict encryption and drm protection of assets. Unless GSC specifically gives us a source build, its unlikely itll be nearly as indepth. Dont expect major overhauls like gamma, ogse, etc etc. Those are likely not happening. Modt youll get is value changes, possible tweaks to spawns, etc. Surface level stuff.
I find it super disrespectful that the common opinion is "well, lets wait for mods" or things like that. This game will be memorable, what we've seen recently is really really promising. Also y'all are in denial, like said above, all you'll got is value tweaking and new textures and models, lower your expectations about the modding scene. X-ray will remain the king for full scale modifications.
@@FenrisulfrSkarr I sincerely hope your wrong about that - the Devs did openly embrace the modding community, and I would challenge the notion that people who where capable of things like GAMMA, OGSE etc. on the old broken game engine would not be up for the challenge of the new - hopefully there is a bridge somewhere between those two points that sees success.
@@tcmx2323 i think they wanted to say that mods are obviously made to elevate the game in countless ways possible, even if the game is really good already itself. Look at the games like Fallout 4 or Skyrim. @@arcad3 Altho for many S2 might be their first game instead. Not the first time that happen with a franchise. Even tho S1 had been ported to PS5 and Xbox recently heh.
Then why didn't you try the original trilogy? You still have time to do that because I'm sure it will take some time to fix bugs and make S2 playable after release. Just like I'm sure that some mods, like anomaly, would stay relevant and you must try them if you are a fan
If you don't wish to outright buy the original trilogy, you can get modded standalone games that either follow the campaign of the original trilogy or do their own things, free too
I tried the first game out recently, it was alright but I'm not sure if an open world shooter is my jam. If it had a little more RPG elements it might be. there has never been a game that went through development hell like this. its not even close. When it finally does launch, take a step back and appreciate the gauntlet this thing went through. - Originally cancelled in 2012. - Company shuttered - IP Rights fought over for years by ex company men. - Stalker and GSC were DEAD for almost a decade. - Company and Game Revived from scratch. - Failure to get finanical support and publisher - spoiling goodwill by meddling with NFTs - multiple delays - full scale invasion of their country by mouth foaming orc savages. - bombings of their city, moving offices, moving countries - fires in their offices, having to move teams, some arent allowed to leave. - death of staff members due to war, whether as collateral damage or volunteers who joined the army. - leaks, data breaches, cyberattacks, threats of violence from whiny community members of the country who invaded them. What the hell did duke nukem forever deal with exactly? incompetent devs who couldnt make up their mind?

inexplicable enemies like the poltergeist is what makes the game so enjoyable, its that sense of dread and mystery that surround some of those enemies you only find in the deepest crypts of the game. Facing the ones after keep you on your toes, knowing what strategy works for them is a learning process and isn't something handed to you. You really are just a joe schmoe against almost unnatural forces made human.

Will be waiting for STALKER 2 GAMMA :D As for "Explaining how to kill enemies" - Stalker was always about being adventurous and figuring stuff out yourself.
Stalker 2 gamma will probably take years, stalker gamma of course is a modpack for a standalone mod anomaly, i'll guess 2 years until a decent modpack like gamma, I highly doubt grok will make a modpack for stalker 2
Nah, gamma 2 won't exist, even glock said it himself. The reason? Well, a lot of modders don't have good pc's, and they lack coding skills for UE5. Plus, it would take YEARS to have similar mods from Anomaly. I hope that the MISERY mod devs come back and create MISERY 3.0.0. The mod hasn't been update over 6 years at this point.
Entered the zone on the release of the 1st game, was an obscure title nobody in my circle knew about. . . once I entered the zone, it never left me - cant wait for this game to come out and in the mods we trust to extend post storyline play through life time.
The mechanics look a hell of a lot more realistic than the originals. The rounds you're sending are having the kind of effect you would expect on the kinds of the things being hit. Bullet sponge simulator are always massive immersion breaks for me unless they make sense in a grounded and believable way which beyond a few exceptions never did in the originals. Much prefer when everything in the world, yourself included, is vulnerable and can be snuffed out easily with a little thought or lack thereof.
my most immersion breaking moment in the OG trilogy was in the arena, where I once magdumped an entire AK mag into the forehead of my opponent for that match before they died :/
@@MIG95374 Literal, no joke skill issue. A single hit can, and often DOES kill both you and your enemies in the classic STALKER games. Finally, people are giving S2 the attention it deserves. I am really proud of truly being faithful to the course of S2 development. Despite all the troubles it suffered, the constant hate some people tried to toss over it, and even the lack of faith sometimes, GSC managed to blow our minds and grant us a jewel like this. The gamescom demo made a lot of people worry, and that's alright, but knowing how game development works and how hard it is to deal with constant waves of struggles especially after a leak and after being force to keep whatever work they do under a strict secrecy barrier, it is perfectly normal to see bugs and such in a demo version of a game. The feedback from the latter and the dedication from the development team led to where we are rn. The times of opportunity trailer is a living proof that stalker 2 was and still a really serious and faithful project. I am truly impressed, especially after seeing what the game looks like rn. The level of graphical fidelity gsc showed in E3 is almost surpassed. And yes, the new trailer is ingame recorded footage that utilized different instances of the game. The main reason for that is to show what needs to be shown with minimal impact on the game experience. Good work, GSC. I am absolutely proud of being part of the stalker universe. A decade and a half and still counting, most probably forever. ❤
Exactly, we nowadays have a bunch of people who cant figure out how to play games without hand holding, because thinking and reading is too hard, imagine playing oblivion lost remake where there are no mission markers where to find things but you have clues from conversations, these people would loose they're crap, prob report that game is broken because there is no arrows where to go or some indicator lol
i just know this is going to be review bombed because the newbies, the kids, the people thinking they're getting "Sci-Fi COD" and the casuals who will be faced with the difficulty, the unknowns- (either not yet having answers to things or having to accept you'll never have those answers. ) Or those who will predictably get their knickers in a twist and shout and scream about "Where're all the women?!? Why is everyone white? Why are there no gay or trans people in The Zone?!?" and demand "corrections" I just hope it's everything the real fans have been wishing for for almost two decades AND MORE! i have heard people who have played the demo talk negatively about features that are a staple of stalker like it's clear they have never played a stalker game before.
The graphical downgrade compared to the gameplay reveal they showed is pretty obvious. Was this played on Xbox or is it going to look even worse on console?
All things considered, i think the graphical downgrade is fine, as long as the game play is still decent. All things considered. Either way, they might even add mod integration down the line for Xbox. Its already happening for Starfield and the limit for mods is 100gbs. If the same can be done for Stalker 2 on Xbox, then 100gb is plenty for a decent graphical overhaul mod and extra. Course that is all contingent on whether mods will ever come for it on console, if not, just switch to pc. Cause honestly the price argument isn't relevant, when pcs are cheaper in the longer run than consoles. But that is just my take on it, as someone who played on console for years, its just not worth it anymore. Also Amazon fire stick is bringing gamepass to its services now, so maybe you can play the game on that and it'll more than likely be streamed to people via pcs. So, there is that :3

Im just excited for what the modders are going to do
Unlikely its going to be as modifiable as the original
This new game is on unreal, which has a notoriously bad history of modding on its current models due to very strict encryption and drm protection of assets.
@@FenrisulfrSkarr gsc has said they plan to work in collaboration with modders this time around
Ofcourse there will be alot of players who likes the "vanilla" versions of the games and they are not really into the modding, but in my opinnion if the devs are open about giving modders a carte blanche, its not a bad thing at all

Please tell me this is not just a shooter but that it has the same mechanics with inventory, PDA, atmosphere and such...
seems to.
pda and inventory seem to be the same as in other stalker games, they are shown in the newest trailers.

Or those who will predictably get their knickers in a twist and shout and scream about "Where're all the women?!? Why is everyone white? Why are there no gay or trans people in The Zone?!?" and demand "corrections"

The graphical downgrade compared to the gameplay reveal they showed is pretty obvious. Was this played on Xbox or is it going to look even worse on console?
That's the real question that wasn't mentioned. Is this "incredible looking and playing game" running like that on the console?
