Stalker is the only game i can recall that the modding community rebuilt the studio's original graphics engine (x-ray engine) from the ground up in order to increase performance and allow the modding community to continue doing what they do for the love of the game. I'd place GSC, the studio behind the game, in the ranks of Fromsoft and CDPR in terms of dedication to world creation and immersion so if GSC are true to their word, I expect this game to flourish for another 15 years. Really looking forward to the release of this game and entering the zone again (for the umpteenth time).
strange that you'd put From Software next to GSC and CDPR. as much as I adore From Software for their games, they did absolutely nothing to accommodate modding. everything modders do with Souls games happens in spite of the company that made them, not because of it.
Morrowind fans (Bethesda game fans) are currently recreating the Morrowind engine to allow Morrowind to be played as an open source game. The project is called OpenMW, and it's only on version 0.49 for now, but they have accomplished some stuff like enhanced graphics rendering, 64 bit program, better shaders for enhanced shadows and lighting, and are slowly making their way to full Lua script implementation in hopes of pushing the modding even further. They are also attempting to let the engine de-hardcode certain elements of Morrowind so that way things like making animations isn't some archaic work around. After OpenMW fully implements Morrowind, they have intentions to push for expanding to Oblivion as well, and Even Skyrim, which they do have demos showcasing the loading of assets for those games. They've even gotten Fallout 3 and New Vegas to load as well! Obviously, Bethesda isn't getting any awards or commendations for world creation when each game has more inconsistencies with the last, but the modding community is just as insane. You can even play modded Morrowind on Android because of OpenMW, too!
The difference with the original Stalker is that the source code is available and nobody is going to go after the modders for using original code, GSC essentially gave away the code that the mods are built on. This is definitely not going to happen with Stalker 2 and we are unsure what modding (if any) will be available on UE5
Falcon BMS is just the same, in fact on an even (much) larger scale. They've essentially rewritten the original Falcon 4 from '98 taking it from Direct3D to DirectX12 with VR and a complete overhaul of avionics to be the single best and most accurate, by far, sim representation of the F-16. It's incredible what modders can do, especially when they have access to real avionics documentation

The stalker acronym is not official and only fan made. There is no official statement. The reason there are dots between the letters in the title "S.T.A.L.K.E.R." is that it was supposed to not make it sound bland and make people think its an acronym ( which it never was in the first place)

It's not post apocalyptic
never played these growing up, but i’m stoked for this one
The stalker acronym is not official and only fan made. There is no official statement. The reason there are dots between the letters in the title "S.T.A.L.K.E.R." is that it was supposed to not make it sound bland and make people think its an acronym ( which it never was in the first place)
Pretty sure the acronym comes from the book (Roadside Picnic), could be wrong as its been a while since i read it
Fun police
Wasn't the acronym explained at the end of Shadow of Chernobyl?

@@Hazzard0229 You're misremembering. It's never explained in the actual book why they are called Stalkers, but the authors have said that they simply liked the word and the meaning fit the description of the stalkers in the book. They got the word from a Kipling book.
Love the gameplay! Wondering if you could do a 'no commentary' version of your videos.
Hopefully will be released this year
November 20 if I remember correctly

*Flashbacks to being a kid waiting for the first STALKER as it was delayed year after year*
@@JaredWeiler Dude! In preparation of the original game release I spend most of my free time reading game magazines about the game, looking at illustrations till I made a hole in a page. 😂
Been waiting so long for this game and to hear that multiply could be added makes it even better 😁
Stalker GAMMA is a blast and made me so excited for this. RIP the dev who died fighting Ukraine ❤
Oh man those Pripyat shots in the beginning, takes me back to Shiey's exclusion zone videos.
really hope "making you feel the loneliness" is not just an excuse for an empty walking simulator.
if you played the series you'd understand what they mean. The zone isn't exactly a city of people
always always love your content Jack!
The devs are from Ukraine and there was a huge delay bc of the war. One the main devs got killed in combat while defending
the war had almost nothing to do with the delay. GSC just sucks
Man stalker back in the day had the best vibe of any game. Also the graphics were "photorealistic" for 2010
The crosshair needs to be removed, hate it
Can't wait to see you play stalker 2 jack
When you wonder how the devs nailed the realistic post-apocalyptic atmosphere and design...then remember what Ukraine is enduring right now and realize they've had plenty of first hand references.
The Dev video was awesome,, this game looks incredible and I cannot wait to play it!
reminds me of metro exodus but on land
I was confused but then I remember Metro Exodus was underwater
Well Exodus was homage to first Stalker, so it makes sense.
@@misterpotato427 metro exo dis water
some devs from exodus were working on this one too
Its like metro but 10x better
One of my favorite titles in the world ! Got me through lots of tough times by getting lost in the amazing Zone !
the UI for picking up weapons and items looks so bad. Everything is so large and in your face. Also the yellow paint on breakable items is super cheesy. I hope this isnt final. it almost looks like a farcry game just walking around. I was hoping for slightly more of a milsim look
Oh just you wait me boi.. remember the modding community is the reason why stalker is still relevant to this day.. now imagine what they can do with the new game!
I enjoy watching Drewski play this game. I'd watch it by you as well.
😺👍
OPTION 1. Realease the game, Release the source code (with limitation where the players need to still buy the game).
OPTION 2. Hire the G.A.M.M.A team for a full blown player driven modding community.
The level of detail is really good. Well looking forward to this! Big fan of the original 3
The UI looks *really* bad.
Omg was wondering if I'm the only one. Both UI and HUD look so cartoonish and colorful. Hope you can turn them off
@@QuanNguyen-bk4pn Probably not. Don't like the PDA interface and the yellow paint either. It's looking very farcry
STALKER IS SO DAMN GOOD. welcome back.
DON’T PRE-ORDER
Hahah long time player of STALKER games. Having finished the main story of all three games. And then went on to plunder the crap out of COP several times. Then modded the heck out of all three for new experiences. I'm currently playing COP - Anamaly. Which is essentially all three games put together with a very much choose your own adventure thing. And here we are. HoC coming soon, and I'm very much looking forward to this. Course watching Jack here with this footage, and my old STALKER instincts are like, "Okay when's the Bloodsucker gonna pop out, these moments are far too tame."
I have been waiting for this game for a very long time. I hope and pray it doesn't take the "nose dive" like most anticipated triple-A games have done.
I've been worried about this too man. I really hope it's as good as the originals when it drops
I remember when STALKER was featured on XtremPC magazine in Romania, 1 year passed, I think.... till I got my hands on a copy, couldn't afford to buy it, now I bought all the series, best game I ever played...
Cannot freakin' wait. It releases on my birthday too, so that is going to be a good day.
Thanks for mentioning the 2 short stories at the beg of the video. Looking forward to reading them. Didn't know they even existed until now. 😀
As long as we get camp fires where some stalkers are sitting around playing the guitar, at night in the rain I am sold
I saw the old Stalker review by Sseth & I"m pleasently surprised it sequel is is this immersive. Gonna read Roadside Picnic before New Year
Stalker 2 looks incredible with fun gameplay and a fantastic atmosphere!
I really hope they show some more clips of the weather. I feel like they really nailed the clouds and skybox. I just need to see some rain and storms. And that damn tornado
The graphics and environments look absolutely brilliant, and I can see RT too!😍
The power of a PC baby
true, hope my 3080TI Suprim X, 32gb ddr5 6000Mhz and 13700k combo will max out settings at 1440p, maybe with dlss...
Really happy about the full mod support. The foundation of the game looks great, and a huge upgrade. And knowing that if you have any gripes with the game it could likely be modded out is nice as well. Especially for the ultra hardcore lot ;-)
I can't wait, the games are incredible and feel unique.
Ps the book is pretty good too
So, the double mag seen in inventory at 4:16 is like an attachment right? i dont see any other mags in the armour slots or the inventory so im guessing theres no mag management which would be cool as an optional setting for hardcore playthroughs like in EFP, again, optional.
