  • Oxalates are naturally occurring substances found in many plants, including vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds. Chemically, oxalate is the ionized form of oxalic acid, explains Ruth Ann Foster, ScD, BSN, RN. While they’re a normal part of human metabolism and your diet, they can bind to minerals like calcium, forming crystals known as calcium oxalate.
When consumed in large amounts or in susceptible individuals, oxalates can contribute to the formation of kidney stones. However, the problem isn’t the oxalates themselves but a damaged gut, which interferes with your body’s ability to clear oxalates effectively.
In my interview with Foster, who has a doctorate in holistic nutrition and studies the relationships between minerals, microbes and water, we explore the underlying causes of that gut dysfunction and how it relates to overall health.

Omg seriously… hopefully his interviewing skills improve… he handles this as if he’s on a personal phone call with her versus an interview he’s posting for his channel lol😅

I wonder if the reason some of the ancestral populations could eat and clear oxalates is that they could only eat these plants seasonally. Easier to clear one season's worth of oxalates than 60 years worth.

Nope. It has to do with low calcium and citrate

    Great work!
Next time, remember to account for the sound lag of the equipment and distance of voice, so the results do not overlap.

I’d rather listen to Dr Barry, Dr Chaffy and Dr Paul Mason these days. Mercola doesn’t look at all the research anymore

You are incorrect. It is Dr Berry (notice the spelling), Dr Chaffy, and Dr Mason, that are not looking at all the research anymore. These individuals minds dig much deeper than the doctors you referenced

Do you think the carn Dr.s do? I think we need to listen to everyone. Sadly, they are all selling something, even if it's an idea.
