It's because Samsung is pretty much the best android phone. Expensive AF but they have to since it has the same price as iPhones. OnePlus Is better than Samsung S series value wise. To me Samsung and xioami are the best androids (can't say anything about Huawei since I've never had a phone from them before)
One more point I want to add, OnePlus 12 is such a handsome phone for how much it costs. The fact that the next best Android phone after OnePlus is S24 Ultra, speaks volume.
They ruined it with color OS. Green line issues are still there. Software is buggy & not greatly optimised as it used to before. Camera is average. One plus was at it's peak with their 7 pro model.
Oneplus is chinese phone... i won't recommend it... i had one plus nord 2... stopped working properly in less than 1 and half year... and that wasn't even my primary phone... i just wanted to see how is that phone thats why i bought it... ngl these Chinese brands just focus on visuals, camera and nothing of performance and durability
I have a Xiaomi. The Xiaomi Note 13 pro. released this year. love the phone great stuff. and with my 120watt charger i can charge my phone from zero to 100 in 15 minutes.

Cutting out all the unnecessary or fancy features, just the phone with top-end SoCs, attracting both regular consumers (due to price) and developers (due to price and any development that doesn't affect the warranty), and so on. Actually, no other phone could match these at that time 🔥 Though the 7T was my first OnePlus phone, I've always followed the OnePlus since the model One.
Another pretty awesome "high spec but cheap" brand I really dig is infinix. Ik it's probably not readily available in the US, but I live in SE Asia and I have the Infinix Note 40 which is a phone that has wireless charging... for only $200. Also, you might have saw their new E-ink phone concept. They're really cool!

I have oneplus 10 pro for about 2 years now and i absolutely in love with phone. I have never experienced any kind of odd hiccup and lags for 2 years now even though i am playing lots of heavy games and lots of emulator stuffs and it is still solid as i bought it for first time. BUT the only thing my phone have suffered from is from battery drainage issue. If my phone drops to 30% then it will not last for even 30 mins and when its 10% it will turn off in 1 min. But still phone feels great.

I was probably the only one who used it in my school, but I always loved it and even though some people thought it was a trash phone cuz they never heard of it. I knew better then them that not all good devices are well-known. Sadly, I switched cuz OP seems to have changed ever since OP9 and lost their touch on good value phones. (and I just didn't like their design choice ever since then)

For the Americans, these are some of the good smartphone manufacturers: For midrange to flagship: Xiaomi, OnePlus, IQOO. For just midrange: Poco, Nothing and Motorola Only flagship: Samsung; Samsung makes good flagships but terrible and disgusting midrange. Then there is vivo and oppo. Vivo make good flagship. Best phone for photography and almost every other things are at par with other flagship. But their midrange phones are priced awfully. Then there oppo, the brand I don't like at all. They make ok flagships and everything else terrible with bad pricing. Then there is pixel with Tensor just like that disgusting Samsung mids with Exynos. Overheating and battery issues are common with pixels. AI is coming to almost all Android, so no point in buying pixel for just that. Pixel and Samsung, the so called premium brands excluding almost all brand's phone charges as 120 watt. Almost every midrange charges at 120 Watt too. And they last just as much as any iPhone or Samsung flagships.
Pixel camera capabilities are insane isn't it, and they don't have much bloatware, which keeps lots of charge. But mine just died all of the sudden by itself, after the warranty ended 😂

You can't even game on those phones without lagging and overheating. 300$ Xiaomi, Realme, Poco, OnePlus, or IQOO can perform 10x faster than that 800$ pixel. And these phone's battery lasts, they don't overheat, they charge at a minimum of 67W and go upto 120W depending on the phone. They even have descent cameras. Though the cameras are not as good or comes close to the pixel. Ofcourse it won't. That's the only this pixel done right and it has that absurd pricing. The other manufacturers flagship takes better picture and outperform pixel in almost all things. I don't particularly use camera. I don't get why people are obsessed with greater camera.

I have used xiaomi before and imo it's terrible. I love the designs but there is just no quality control. Many phones of the same model always seems to have some sort of quirks. Like for some reason, some phone would have blurry camera, some would vibrate twice when you press home button, some have their volume button sink in brand new.
I remember when One+ first came out, and they ran a promotion where if you destroyed your phone in a creative enough way, they would give you one of their phones for free. The rules said to send in a video with your plan, but not to actually destroy the phone until you were one of the chosen few... Lots of people didn't read that part, and destroyed their phones. I made a video, but they didn't approve it. Apparently running it over with a 19th century steam engine wasn't as cool as the other entries, most of which I thought were dumb. (I'm pretty sure one was just dropping it, and another was freezing it in a block of ice.) My promo video was pretty dope as well, we made a short silent video where I got frustrated with the phone, threw it down, called over to my friends running the steam engine, and cut the video right before it ran over the phone.

They’d better be offering free battery replacement services as part the warranty because with a phone like the One Plus 1T commenting battery cellicide every 2 months you’re gonna need it. Fast charging is a gimmick and Apple is the only company who seems to understand that.
But yet they get clowned for it. Just like when ios gets a feature that’s a game changer android users say oh it’s useless or a gimmick or we had it first.
What a gimmick? it's better and made our day easier. battery is improving, it's not the old days anymore, it's not the old battery anxiety era like y'all still having.. they guaranteed 1400 charge cycle and battery life is still 80%.. that's around 4 years. I've been using fast charging for over 2 years and my phone can still last until night
Still use my 7 Pro, it's still better than most midrange devices today in terms of fancy features and performance. It's just till now that you can get a new phone for $400 that will compete with older flagships. I'm going to be using it for another year at least.

I've used OnePlus since 2014, when they were still "invite only". And I've used an 8 Pro for the last three years too, it was less than a year old when I got it, and it was a fair bit cheaper than the 9. I'm on my second one, got a refurb after the first one broke a few months ago, and I didn't really feel like upgrading since newer models haven't added that much to outweigh the familiarity and price. 12gb lpddr5, 1440×3168 120hz screen, etc, it's just a great phone that doesn't lack anything. I don't know what tech would lead to a huge improvement but I haven't seen it yet.
