but like, the majority of Transformers shows before Bayformers were anime doe, even Japanese only. It's the definition of a half Japanese half American franchise like no other, maybe Sonic the Hedgehog or Power Rangers compare.

Its funny when people say this series is way too kiddie compared to G1. Like are you kidding me? I mean, G1 was still great, but it's probably one of the most lighthearted TF seires (aside from the movie) This show could get kinda dark sometimes. Like Prowl's death, Bumblebee getting stabbed and nearly dying, tragic character backstories, and don't even get me started on what happened to Blurr, holy hell what heppened to him was brutal!

To make the Japanese version of Transformers: Animated more awesome, they even got Optimus Prime voiced by Ryu from Street Fighter (Hiroki Takahashi) & Megatron voiced by Cell from DBZ (Norio Wakamoto, who also voiced M. Bison from Street Fighter. So that basically makes OP's Japanese VA more fitting).
And Prowl is voiced by Kōji Yusa, the voice of Shadow the hedgehog.

@@KazuyaMithra Transformers being American has been the prevailing thought since the 80's despite its Japanese origins. It's similar to how Voltron is somehow more popular in the West than its origin show Go-Lion was in Japan where it was considered just another Super Robot show.

Let Unicron appear and youse Starscreme to turn HIM into Galvatron and let the Name Galvatron be a mockery Starscreme makes towards Megatron. Then let a repaired Megatron and Optimus Work togetehr to defeat Galvatron and Unicron. What else?...Starscreme/Galvatron gets Controul of his Clones back and makes Two New ones. Dirge who to my knowlege only appeard as a Toy and Smokscree who acually repesents the Good in Starscreme, betreing him and aiding Optimus in the Battle.......I Have to turn that into a Fanfiction!

Why is the Japanese dub so powerful compared to the simplistic theme we got for US? makes me wonder how different the show was in Japan
Quite different. The show is much more of a comedy in Japan and had footage cut out to add in live action skits.
This has transformed, no, *EVOLVED* my childhood into something beyond words
We got a safe Transformers more than meets the eye rendition as a pose to this masterpiece
It’s because Japan has one ups America in every way in entertainment
90’s: America has found cell shading
Japan makes dragon ball Z which remakes the entertainment industry in America
Early 2000’s: America makes clean animation like Ben 10 and teen titans
Japan makes sakuga
2010’s: America makes 3D animation
Japan blends bit 3D and 2D almost perfectly

Japan wasn't putting out The Lion King or Fantasia or Snow White which were all revolutionary at the time.
Don't get me wrong, I love Japanese animation, but you gotta know where you came from to appreciate where we are now.

I have apparently forgotten how much I enjoyed this.
I love Transformers Animated, and love how its theme (much like the rest of the series) is a huge throwback to G1, but holy shit on a stick, this Japanese version is beyond amazing. The intensity and power is through the roof! Why couldn't Japan continue this series for!!

It sucks they didn't release this version as a bonus on the dvd or something in America. I cant even find a subbed version of it anywhere.

It’s very cool theme song. When I was child that I was really excited.
Adored transformers as a kid, still do, and grew into anime due to cartoons being mostly mediocre now a days, so hearing that TA has an absolute banger of an op fills both my childhood and teenage years.
This song makes me want to fly out of the atmosphere in a fiery blaze and punch the sun all while shredding on an electric guitar.

isn't it obvious: America constantly keeps reusing the same words over-and-over again for their show intro:
"Transformers, More than Meets the Eye.
Transformers, Robots in Disguise.
Autobots wage their battle to destroy,
The evil forces of the Decepticons.
Transformers."
Only this time, there was no enthusiam at all behind the american intro. Not that hard to understand when we have a sack of shit like Derrick J. Wyatt running the show. And we ALL know the treatment he gave to Ben 10 in Omniverse if the art style, flat characterization and personality, 2D emotional weight behind... everything.
(They even had the balls to create a Universe Bomb only to have Ben go Alien X to create a new Big Bang to fix it all again, despite the fact that such a possibility would have served a slight form of personal emotional trauma since all of his friends, family and loved ones are essentially already... dead. And his interactions hereforth is with self-created shadows that are taking their place. THIS would have been a personal moral event horizon or a form of self-descent into insanity, with the possibility that Ben himself was UNABLE to create a Big Bang and is slowly going insane from the massive guilt weighing him down that he had managed to delude himself into thinking that he really DID create a new Big Bang to restart the universe as he slowly succumbs to his personal insanity. Did we get this? No. Just a slight handwave is all.)
It's a different style, both are good. This one gets me pumped up while the English theme is a modernized take on the G1 theme which is equally awesome :D
