I know im randomly asking but does someone know of a tool to get back into an instagram account? I was dumb lost the account password. I would love any tricks you can give me
was this commercial on there? Can someone tell me what that girl in the leotards in singing? It sounds like she's saying.... " It's the smile you can hide, cuz it comes from inside" . What does that mean? LOL
The 80's were such a wild and fun time! This commercial really reflected on that at the time. I remember this commercial vividly. I love it to this day!!!
I'm actually surprised that companies haven't jumped on the "retromercial" thing and re-released these on television. Cheap way to advertise without the production costs and time spent on new ads. People eat this shit up...
Cept for 4K TV. Kids watching would think there was something wrong. Watching Old Walker Texas Ranger and A team shows suck with poor resolution. On new HD flicks air brushing the womens makeup is a neccesity since 1080p and above shows every sag, crease and crowsfeet. Maybe 30 year old SNL skits could be redone for advertising? They are old, broke and on medicare? Money money money!
Some companies have done this. I know Folger's re-played their old Irish river dancing ad from the 'Best Part of Waking Up' ad campaign of the late 90s/early 2000s on television around 5 or so years ago
Watching this in 2022 and it's forty years ago and I'm right back in MN as an exchange student. If I close my eyes and tap my heels together...just maybe I could return there to a better world.
Stunning choreography and singing! And it captures the spirit of the days of "Fame" and "A Chorus Line" absolutely on spot. Thanks for uploading! BTW: Does anybody know the name of the singer at 0:38?
It reminds me more of "Merrily We Roll Along", one of the most famous cult musicals of all time. It only ran for a couple of weeks in 1981 but has gone on to be widely performed (it just had it's five THOUSANDTH) production. Partly because the guy with the curly hair at the piano is Lonny Price, who starred in Merrily.
This jingle was written by Ginny Redington Dawes and her husband Thomas Dawes. Ginny Dawes died on Dec 31 2022 in Manhattan. Her obit was published in the NY Times on Jan 24 2023.
PHENOMENAL! First time I've seen or heard this commercial in years! It's fantastic! I wish I had the sheet music for this. Thank you for sharing it with us!! Always loved this little jingle.
This is my absolute favorite Coca-Cola commercial. I remember it well and can still remember all the words. And this commercial has something that you just won't see in today's world- young people who can actually sing and dance. No Auto-Tune required.
This is the BEST commercial, bar none. You know, we didn't just solve our teenage angst in the early 80s by dancing to a Coke commercial. But maybe it would have been better if we had. The innocence of a time long gone.
Possibly related fun fact: The Coca-Cola Company acquired Columbia Pictures on June 22, 1982 for $750 million ($2.205 billion in 2022). After owning it for 7 years, Coca-Cola sold the studio to Sony on September 28, 1989 for $3.4 billion ($7.779 billion in 2022).
"Coke is it" is one of the first phrases I ever spoke when I was learning to talk. I think my father must've consumed that stuff by the gallon in those days. Memories! :)
Yeah, I'm 51 and this song is STILL in my head...40 + years later...Thank God BC ain't in this one...Lip synching on point...Especially Fozzie on the piano 🤣
@briansky10 One thing regarding the eighties that I have very pleasent memories of is the sitcom "Gimme a Break!"! I grew up having the biggest crush on Julie! Especially when she would wear designer boots! Wow!
i totally remember this commercial, but i sweat to you i thought it was with the Up With People cast!!! they should reair this commercial for sure!!! like totally!!! i love it! thanks for posting this!!!
Haven't seen this commercial since it was on TV. Thanks for posting. BTW, does anyone know the actress/singer's name at 0:38 wearing the turtleneck sweater doing the solo?
Isabel Glasser. I went to NYU with her and, among other classes, took dance with her. She was so good that she got to lead the class sometimes. She went on to have something of a film career.
I read somewhere that this first aired during the Super Bowl in January of 1982. Does anyone know if that's true? It was obviously inspired by the movie Fame, from 1980. For some reason I've always guessed that the actors were lip-syncing and the singing was actually done by others and dubbed in. Don't know if that's actually true though. Still a fantastic commercial.
This is my favorite Coke commercial, too. Thanks so much for uploading it! I seem to recall there was even longer version than this. It was rarely shown. It basically had the entire chorus lyrics at the end instead of shortening it like in this one (when it cuts to the piano player). If anyone has it, please upload it!
I wasn't brought here by Stranger Things actually. I was reminded of when I saw this when I was little (not on tv lol this commercial was already like 20 years old) my dad showed me it on youtube
The young woman at :40 - "It's the smile you can't hide..." Anyone recognize her? What a beautiful face, what a rich voice. Only one I recognize in this spot is Diane Franklin. Who is this lady? Did she go on to great things? (Of course, her voice may be ADR'ed, who knows?)
I like the '70s-looking pianist, but other than that, I just remembered why I hated living through the '80s so much! I much prefer the 'Catch That Pepsi Spirit' advert from 1980, with the young girl attempting to toss and catch the baton with the school band on the day of the big parade. That advert was so positive and uplifting, signalling the start of a good decade--too bad it failed as a soothsayer. It's probably the last great soft-drink advert. Sigh... (I'm almost 41!)
I prefer this longer version of the ad - it has much more drama. The ad was like this because of all the "Fame" (both movie & TV series) mania back in the early 80's...
Can someone tell me what that girl in the leotards in singing? It sounds like she's saying.... " It's the smile you can hide, cuz it comes from inside" . What does that mean? LOL
The Alchemist can really flip anything. amazing
I know im randomly asking but does someone know of a tool to get back into an instagram account?

Glee should do this
The 80's were such a wild and fun time! This commercial really reflected on that at the time. I remember this commercial vividly. I love it to this day!!!
It really is a great commercial!
Alchemist is crazy for sampling this, just goat thangs
I'm actually surprised that companies haven't jumped on the "retromercial" thing and re-released these on television. Cheap way to advertise without the production costs and time spent on new ads. People eat this shit up...
drboogersnot I concur!
"Retromercial"… that's a genius idea. Thanks OP.
Cept for 4K TV. Kids watching would think there was something wrong.

Action Bronson
Colin Gilbert alchemist has a golden ear
Shows how captivating the 80's were. Those were such great times!
If only we could go back! But still have the internet and the modern cars we have now lol
Beautiful musical number
At 0:31 actress Diane Franklin appears. In 1982, she broke through into movies with The Last American Virgin and Amityville II: The Posession.
Stunning choreography and singing! And it captures the spirit of the days of "Fame" and "A Chorus Line" absolutely on spot. Thanks for uploading!
BTW: Does anybody know the name of the singer at 0:38?
I came here just to see people who wrote "Stranger Things brought me here" because I knew it brought them here because it brought me here
which part?
It's like "Fame" and "A Chorus Line" had a baby.
It reminds me more of "Merrily We Roll Along", one of the most famous cult musicals of all time. It only ran for a couple of weeks in 1981 but has gone on to be widely performed (it just had it's five THOUSANDTH) production. Yeah, the "Fame" TV series started that year.
I thought almost EXACTLY the same thing.
Stranger Things:
when EL gets triggered!
BEST. COKE. COMMERCIAL. EVER.
The 80's. Those were the days!

This song was sampled in an action Bronson song
Hunter Biden was terrific on the piano. He really believes that Coke is It.
Shouts to Uncle Al
Diane Franklin! Wish she'd been featured more prominently in this ad.
I had such a HUGE crush on Diane Franklin
I noticed her too! Our last American virgin ;-))
@TimeLapseSteve except we had to worry about nuclear annihilation at the hands of the soviets... =)
This is my absolute favorite Coca-Cola commercial. I remember it well and can still remember all the words. And this commercial has something that you just won't see in today's world- young people who can actually sing and dance. No Auto-Tune required.
Yes!
I enjoy the strategically placed black people. Haha.
Oh my it's the long version of the commercial. Thanks for the upload.
bass player on this track is an absolute monster...
yeah
This is the BEST commercial, bar none. You know, we didn't just solve our teenage angst in the early 80s by dancing to a Coke commercial. But maybe it would have been better if we had. The innocence of a time long gone.
Maybe *you* didn't solve your teenage angst that way.
Memories! :)
I remember this commercial being panned for having no well known actors in it. I myself think it's STILL the best ad for Coke.
Thanks for Posting!
Forget Kamala. Trump Is It !!!
so during their break from singing and dancing.......they sing and dance while drinking coke?
Stranger Things anyone?
S1 e3?
I was 7 when this was new in 1982 and Coke hooked me! A lifelong coke man here! What else is there to say? COKE IS IT!
So... Diabetes, right? I know how it is.
Omg, I'm in this commercial! 😂😂😂😂
Which one are you?

Apparently, I used to dance around naked to this as a toddler.
same here lol
The good old days!
Yeah, I'm 51 and this song is STILL in my head...40 + years later...Thank God BC ain't in this one...Lip synching on point...Especially Fozzie on the piano 🤣
@jannyrcobs why did you hate the 80s? The 80s rocked! the Reagan era was my era. i loved LOVED it. even though life was hard for me.
I do believe that's Lonny Price, who had recently starred in the short lived Stephen Sondheim musical Merrily We Roll Along, on the piano.
Diane Franklin in the center @:30 from The Last American Virgin & Better Off Dead
The black dancer at 0:37 - Isn't that the guy from "Fame"?
Diane Franklin brought me here 🥰
compare this to young kids now.... back then you actually had to have talent!!
Lonnie Price at the piano, shot at Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM).
Was Sergio Zyman the guy behind this commercial?
A young Randy Newman (imposter) on piano.
Wow! I actually remember that ! 1982? I was 13
0:39 - I really hate her teeth.
Anybody else besides me who never saw it? I have no reference to this commercial or the jingle other than the brand name.
@Flabbe69 LOL....I don't know, but like most people, he's the only one I vividly remember from the commercial!
I recognize at least one person in this commericial, actress Diane Franklin.
Original MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG cast
This is the commercial but it had ray charles. Can you find it?

80s commercials are fun!

Cool Randy Newman Jr. is on the piano.
It is like a .60 rock opera. I think that jingle inspired about 3/4 of the songs I ever wrote.
best commercial ever, so bloody catchy!
What the blazes is this; a Phineas and Ferb episode? lol
Looks like something out of FAME.
Oh wow, thanks! I googled her and she is still pretty at 50!
My 3rd Favorite Commercial of all-time.
I would pay money to see this entire musical . . . and it would be better than anything on Broadway today.
It's true. Normal practice.
The Coke is It commercials are the best!
The Alchemist - Diagnosis (Feat. Action Bronson)
Half 70s Half 80s
0:27 Is that Laurie Beechman?
Diane Franklin
Cocaine is it in the 80's.😂
Peak America
Hands down, the catchiest commercial jingle of all time! I've included this one on my playlist, "Catchiest TV Commercial Jingles (1970's-1980's)"
Does anyone know who the piano player is?
Randy Newman?
Watch in 2022
You can tell that this ad was inspired by The Kids from Fame...
😍❤👏👏👏
robbin williams?
This is my favorite Coke commercial, too. Thanks so much for uploading it!
I seem to recall there was even longer version than this. It was rarely shown. It basically had the entire chorus lyrics at the end instead of shortening it like in this one (when it cuts to the piano player). If anyone has it, please upload it!
I love everthing from ´80s , thanks for post it .
Awesome classic
corybee1 Yep, I was 7 Years old when it was on TVs in the UK and Ireland. I still remembered that particular Jingle all these Years later.
Yup Timeless :>)
More like timely. It's very early eighties but that's what makes it wonderful.
Bubble gum Coca~cola & Marilyn Monroe!
I remember seeing the Coca Cola Kids perform at Stone Mountain, Georgia in early 80's.
I wasn't brought here by Stranger Things actually. I was reminded of when I saw this when I was little (not on tv lol this commercial was already like 20 years old) my dad showed me it on youtube
You don't see any Coca Cola commercials anymore unless McDonald's advertises them
Time 4 me to drink some Diet Coke and get my fix lol.
Here in Latinoamérica, this slogan was translated as "Coca cola: ¡Más y más!" ("Coca Cola: More and more")
I love this commercial!

Cute blonde girl at 0:30.
I prefer this longer version of the ad - it has much more drama.
The ad was like this because of all the "Fame" (both movie & TV series) mania back in the early 80's...
Nice to see a commercial that looks like it was written by someone with an above room temp. IQ.
Can someone tell me what that girl in the leotards in singing? It sounds like she's saying.... " It's the smile you can hide, cuz it comes from inside" . What does that mean? LOL
Can't hide
thank you! @@allengje
