Thank You! It was very stable with original wings, even more,- you could apply force to roll it. With speedwing it rolls with no force, very responsive, and I didn't expect same characteristics. But they are!
Both levers come from Wilga 35 A. (throttle&pitch). Second I use for engine cooling baffles. All other (axle, brake pads, cable holders movement eliminators etc) is self made.
It appears that your altimeter is in error - a "look out the window" vs the altimeter indication does not seem to match. Is that correct? Nice little plane - I built an EROS 1650 Minimax - is your airplane the same? I love watching you fly "hands-off" - very nice. Thank you, sir, N6395T Which engine do you use? Two-cycle, right? I used the Rotax 503 with dual carbs. Put over 750 hrs.' on that little plane. (I saw the other posts on the engine) Also, I like others, was not thinking in terms of Meters for your Altimeter. Sorry :-) Short story: As an Avionics Maintenance guy, stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany, back in the late 1960's we flew once a month to the "Soviet Union," landing in Moscow. I had to install a couple of Metric Altimeters: One for the radio operator, the other for the Navigator's position. Set them up with the QNH and we were good to go. Would fly to Bulgaria, as I recall, and pick up a Navigator to fly the final leg into Moscow. Was about a 3 hour + flight. Seeing your Metric Altimeter reminded me of those days. Nice airplane - great piloting, Thanks for taking us along,.
Yes, it was used altimeter. I replaced all ''alarm clocks'' to electonic ZAV-P1. Airspeed, altimeter, vario, timer, all in one. Get also weight reduction about 2kg. I built my minimax according V-max plans, (VW engine, open cockpit), so I have V-max. I have engine Walter M202. Czech production, appr 1990. 2stroke opposite, 676ccm, 65hp. Rarity, 12pcs built. There were problems with this engine, baby diseases, but now all works great. Thank You for good words!
I think it is the best choice. Most of aircraft compasses like bull's eye they stuck in at steeper takeoff, and to see numbers is more difficult. With this one there is no one of these problems. My instructor hade similar Silva compass, and I appreciated it. And got it at a Yacht store for very friendly price, 20 eur less than ordinary! :)
I broke out laughing when the girl recoiled after touching the wingtip, as if she might break it. Also, is your altimeter broken? And what engine? Mine has the Rotax 503, and I noticed you said yours has prop pitch control?
I looked again on that episode, she is my daughter, no, I did not scare her. She asked, are they short wings. I answered - yes. About altimeter, it was used, didn't work correctly at increased vibrations, shows hundreds meters. Engine -rarity, Walter M202, czech production. About prop, it is ordinary self made, oak prop. Lever next to throttle lever is for engine cooling baffles.
@@arvilsbusmanis1215 Interesting. Like cowl flaps on a production plane. I also noticed on another of your videos, where you change props, on the pre-flight, I noticed you do have flight adjustable elevator trim. I just ordered a trim kit from Aircraft Spruce. I am interested to know more about yours.
@@ConvairDart106 Very useful thing if You have flapperons. When You droop them there occurs force on stick,- You should pull it. But, my own oppinion,- if You have original minimax wings, flapperon function is not necessery. there is more trouble than benefits. When I made it, i knew, i shall have short wings. They in combination with flapperon function work perfectly. The only good thing of flapperons with orig. wing is to lift them -5 degree, - increases speed in appr. 5kmh. and plane feels more stable. If You have no flapperon function, there is enough ground adjustable trim plate.
Hi Arvils, I have watched all of your videos... I am very impressed ! A couple of questions... what is the wing span and which airfoil are you using. Otherwise it looks to be the standard MM... Which model did you modify , and what is the climb and HP of the engine. Thanks very much, Ron Applegate
Best range is between 125-140km/h. With original wings it was 80-100. Yes, IAS indicator in this video shows a little incorrect, (less), I think, because Pitot tube is located at upper part of wing strut, but with shorter wings it is closer to interference of prop. Point of attaching strut to wing is approx. in the middle of wing also.) Replacing IAS indicator to digital shows the same.
@@arvilsbusmanis1215 Never liked the R582 - cold seizures plus other problems. The HK is fraught with problems, also. But! The 503 is good "right out of the box." Install it and "go fly." True.
Hands free straight and level, nice build and set-up! Congrats!

Beautiful landscape great place to fly
Which country is this? Nice landscape.
Its amazing sir
Thank You!
You have a beautiful plane. Can you tell me where you got your throttle setup. It looks excellent.

Thank you for the information. Very nice setup.

What engine ?
Walter M202. Produced in Czehia, rarity, 12pcs built.
What else would you use today?
I have not thought about it. The first choice was R503, or HKS700, or R582, (possible to make good cabin heating).
