Catching MONSTER Koi Fish in the WILD!

- In today's video, we find a MASSIVE koi fish in a local pond! My friend @KadenHillery spotted this fish and immediately called me and @RobsAquatics to try and catch it to put into our backyard pond! With the use of drones to locate this koi, and tons of different baits, it ended up taking us OVER A MONTH to finally catch this fish... But it was worth it! Comment a name suggestion for the new member of the BFP NATION!

I have a white with black spotted koi that acted very much like your escape artist did. I have named that one Houdini. Seems to be a fitting name for your catch as well.

@@ashokelly9074 because they're non native fish, and having them in spillways/canals/retention ponds contributes to breeding populations of such carp.

@@carminepetracca7518 Most rentention ponds and spillways ultimately connect to our waterways in wet periods. It would quickly find itself among the population of breeding Amur and other Asian carp varieties infesting our waterways. Within a generation or two the fun scale colors would be gone and it would be just another not-so-pretty invasive fish.
Nice video, as a carp angler from the UK the only thing I would have liked to see is it go back in the lake rather than a small pond/pool 🙈
yea, but that thing also doesn't belong in that pond either. It will kill mostly everything in there. That's probably why it's so big. It's probably #1 on the food chain

Understand your view point but depending on if that was a private pond or not it counts as an invasive fish and if the gov caught it, the fish would be put to sleep. I hope the pond he builds is spacious enough for the kois though.

Drone footage was a deff nice change and added some sick angles. Now we just gotta have a drone follow Rob all day, I feel like he does some sus things throughout the day 🤔

Dear fishermens I enjoy watching you every time. I know you love every fish. But this time I think this time you should hat left the big fish in the big pond, where he was. He is very expensive fish. Putting him in a small pond its not the best solution. I ' m glad to see that you spend a lot of time to save the KOI

Out here in CA there’s a huge pond that has about 60-70 koi that were dumped. I’ve been trying to get them for years. They’re all different sizes and colors. If you ever come out here let me know and I’ll show you!

What a lovely Koi that is, such a deep red colour. What was the approximate size of the fish (centimetres or inches) and approximate weight?
I know it's impossible to tell, but how old would you say the fish was? My guess would be at least 20 years old. I keep Koi here in the UK and the oldest Koi that I still have is 41 years old this year. My garden pond was built in 1982 & my oldest orange Koi was one of the very first fish to go into the pond. Purchased at about an inch long, now about 2 feet long.

I can't help but feel sad for the koi. It was living its best life in that big beautiful pond. That's why it got so big. Now it gets to live out the remainder of its years in that small dinky little pool. It kinda reminded me of seniors that we take from their homes and put in 8x8 rooms in a seniors home.

So....my 7YO Son peed the bed, then took forever to get ready for school, causing us to be late for school. Then I get back home, shut my keys in the door, bending my house key badly, attempt to bend the key back to straight only to break it off in the lock, & then have to run around for the next hour & twenty minutes getting keys made & prying the key fragment out of the door lock with a tiny screwdriver! Thats a kohaku koi.. age would be around nisai or sansai(2 years or 3 years)... due to the water it lived in its white colour somehow got darkened i think... it would regain its white colour in good water, she would look more beautiful after that
