- In this video, we try to catch carp with a ronnie rig. The conditions are good, and we found a lot of big carp swimming around. So we set up the underwater camera's and waited... until something happened that we had never seen before.

I can fully believe this, i went fishing this weekend gone to a pkace ive fished before and caught. This time i used pop ups because i never do and fancied a change. Long story short i blanked and some of the other lads had 17 fish. Ill only ever used pop ups for zigs in future! Lesson learnt.

Very cool. This movie clearly shows hard hard the mouth of the grass carp really is and how important it is to have really heavy leads or running rigs and very sharp hooks. Insane how hard they can be to hook.

Really interesting. I wonder whether baits they’ve been caught on before they recognise and become wary. It’s a natural animal defence mechanism. Or the pop up was unlike any of the free offerings and either looked odd to them and suspicious or maybe they could see the hook float around and recognised it as something that’s caught them out before. . As you’ll see sometimes they suddenly back off as they become close to the hook and possibly notice it.
Not by, but in spite of Ronnie Rig caught one
They took all the free offerings with confidence and left the popped up hook bait, and when they took the pop up, they could feel the hook and let go. Like to see how a bottom bait would work.
