Is there a middle ground to the controller vs mouse & keyboard war?? Is JoyShockMapper any good? Want to add air mouse functionality and use stuff you already have? That’s what Jibb Smart aimed to do with his development of JoyShockMapper, allowing users to easily integrate the Dual shock 4, Switch pro controller, and Joy Cons into everyday gaming similar to that of the Xbox controller.

I felt so bad for sleeping on the Steam Controller when I recently found out gyro controls could compensate for analogue aiming.
And the worst part was that it was essentially the perfect controller. It had the best gyro tracking out of any controller to date, it had a trackpad so aiming could be even more precise than the analogue stick, and it had under grip buttons by default. You won’t find any bells and whistles (although, some may count gyro controls to be unnecessary).
It was perfect... Sure, maybe it could use more ergonomic tweaks here and there, maybe adjustable trigger stops, and maybe one more under grip button on each side. But other than that, it probably was the endgame of controllers...
It was everything a competitive or casual controller enthusiast could have wanted... it was simply perfect...

Shooters without ADS and aim assist are easily achievable on console if thumbsticks were properly set up with deadzone and acceleration options offered. Sure you can do the same with the touchpad with practice for consistency, but flick stick is easier. And for two, most people have a normal controller with sticks, so implementing flick stick would let them get the same turning speed as using a touchpad, rather than forcing people to get a steam controller (which is discontinued, if you've forgotten).

I used to use gyro flight game stick with auto fire and hat control way back in the 1990s to control my sci-fi shooters on PC. Great for controlling the precise motions of space ships flying in and out of targets...not so cool when using with side scrolling platformers. I would loop the cable loosely around my arm because the weight of it would sometimes be enough to throw me off my mark or after awhile it got kinda heavy and annoying to use.
I'd move my hand around while holding it and the character responded really quickly. No need to sit at a desk while playing the games. Got more exercise on that too.

My favorite controller has always been the steam controller. The trackpad, while hard to get used to, is incredible once you get used to it

Agreed, I'm terrified I will drop my steam controller since they cut production, but its 100% my favorite controller. If I could just figure out how to get it to work on destiny 2...

    More importantly though:
Can you move with left joystick but without binary movement inputs ( like on the kyeboard ) while looking around with gyro?

Yes, as long as the game you're playing supports simultaneous controller and keyboard inputs.

One question, Did ps4 controller vibration/feedback work on pc

JSM doesn't support it but other software does like reWASD. PS4 vibration sucks but PS5 controller vibration is really good
