      That’s actually heavenly with how genius that is. The 4th makes the war go away. So if you wanna see a war, bring the 3rd into the relationship months before the 4th girl. If you don’t want a war between them, bring the 3rd and 4th in at the same time.

      Yes it's the stigma and it's men's unwillingness to present it as a viable option. The problem is that Patrice didn't have access to people who could guide him along and help him develop a situation with mulitple women. Without a plan, this won't work. Men need to bounce ideas off each other and develop plans

    • @snapeinvader
      @snapeinvader 5 лет назад

      It wouldn't help most men. The top 20% that were into that would have 40% of the women at least, and 20% of guys that might otherwise get a girl would be left out. That doesn't work well, it's why monogamous societies are generally more successful and stable than polygamous ones.

    • @aaronjohnson6622
      @aaronjohnson6622 5 лет назад +6

      Even in Polygamous societies not every man has multiple women. There would be no shortage. And this idea of men having more than one woman is beneficial for the man, therefore it needs to be explored. In the U.S. We practice pseudo-monogamy, where men are coerced, influenced, or shamed into being monogamous even though many want more women. It doesn't benefit the man and the family structure tends to break down easily due to stress, lack of resources, etc

    • @vincemcmahonreadskoran3120

      @@snapeinvader Polygamy definitely worked for the mormons when they needed lots of hands on their homesteads and in african countries where wars kill off a lot more of the men but in a more established society at some point that unequal distribution would tip to a point that a conflict would arise just like wars have been fought over resources. All that testosterone and no fucking to burn it off would make for some violent guys for sure. I don't think monogamy should be the only option for everyone though.

    Many children grow up in gay families, polyamorist families, single parents, foster homes, and end up just fine. Because it would destabilize society. For every man that could get multiple women, which would usually be men of status there would be men who would get none . In other words all the rich/famous guys would get all the girls and the average Joe would get none.

      People often conflate the Catholic Church/Christianity and the Bible. They're two completely separate entities. The Catholic Church came up with monogamy for population control and for deception of the masses. Yet in the Bible there are multiple patriarchal figures and kings who had multiple wives and mistresses. You then have to start questioning yourself if what the church is teaching you is actually biblical and are we being taught "societal norms" or are we being reprogrammed.

    Sam Tan, whats the problem with his TOT (train of thought)? How could you just say how he is feeling? He's said that it wasn't just about sex. Being greedy is a human trait. In some way, everyone wants or wanted something more than the societal standard. He also said that he was open to with the woman have another male partnertemp or permanent. He said he doesn't know what will happen later as he hadn't accomplished this yet so how do you know how it will play out? Then his hobbies is his. He was already making a mark on the world so what does he need to create another interest for? He also was trying to help others with is outlook so him keeping focus on the world of women is why I wish he was alive still. I love his comedy but Patrice outside of stand up is what sold me on him. His point about the women and multiple men is that innately, women don't want multiple men at the same time but that doesn't mean that someone can go against nature. There is a lot of "going against nature" going on already outside of this subject. Innately, men want more women but don't want to share women but he seems open to it from what he's saying. I don't know him like that to say what he's thinking without of a base of thought. I'm going by the things he has said in the 70+ hrs of O&A featuring him and Black Phillip. Also, conditioning is always going on in relationships. Thats how they know how to treat you and how you treat them. There is NOTHING wrong with conditioning a mate to be THE mate for YOU, whether it's one or multiple. Also no intent to offend.

    Didn't Anthony hate his wife? From how he used to talk about her it seems like he never really gave a damn about his wife. Didn't he say the main reason he got married was because he wanted to be seen as a man? So it seems like he never really loved her and because of that the situation wouldn't have worked in the first place.

    If you can find girls that are into this type of open relationship, then by all means... But niggas... do not expect all girls to be into this... Like one of the guys said with favoritism and how that resentment carries and effects the kid growing up, for a woman forced into the illusion of her happiness through her man, (because it is an illusion as you can't find your happiness THROUGH a relationship but you can find love IN it) happiness is a very, very emotionally and mentally unstable situation,that no girl needs to put herself through, despite Patrices faulty premise eluding to that conclusion. I'm all for open relationships and swinging and all this shit but Patrices SPECIFIC premise and logic on this topic is very faulty on the basis that it only counts the benefit for himself but leaves out the repercussions for everyone else involved, and who gives a fuck if it's a thot, hoe whatever... But if you're in a relationship the other persons feelings should be considered.. you can't "build a bitch", as dumb and inferior as men may think us to be, we are still humans and have to carry these same type of people for 9 months and bring them into the world... It's great and all to reduce society and human nature to the animal kingdom but what makes a human different from an animal is our ability to rationalize... I'm actually a girl that agrees with most of Patrice's philosophy between men and women and just life in general but I really do struggle with his whole premise in women and guidance through relationships.. Although I agree with the idea I think that taking advantage of the fact that women usually love unconditionally is wrong, which is another variable (like emotion) that he leaves out of all of his reasoning!
    Anyway, Patrice wasn't a philosopher, so I don't expect him to have fool-proof points because he was just a really smart and intuitive guy...RIP to a great guy
    I just had to comment because people are always so quick to completely digest a manifesto but you should always compare points with your own values and not someone elses.

      You have valid points but as with many opinions yours seem to have some emotional genesis. I didn’t gather Patrice was talking about having a thot or hoe but an actual partner. When you mention feelings, again you are correct that a woman’s must come into account but if Patrice for instance doesn’t place value on his woman’s feelings as is then he won’t care about the consequences that ensue once both partners have agreed to the relationship. Great perspective tho.

    I may be a bit premature in the video answering this question, but I think it's pretty fucking obvious. When it's one person, that person is _distinguished_. A more hardcore version of having only one mother and one father. Then there's the fact that there's only one of every individual in your life. Distinguishing. We want to be set apart.
    And I wondered to myself before I started listening to this one video: what would Patrice say if his woman decided she wanted the same thing? Would he be okay with that?

    I like the logic he is building on here. not flawless, but respectable. basically how can a guy attempt to have an extra relationship on top of a committed relationship. finances and marriage is a 1v1 thing. the sexual part is entirely not lol.
    but its like he said, its not for everyone, and is really a lover's idealism for like younger guys with energy, emotional stability, and enough money lol
    ....and perhaps good virtues too

    Me and my wife have setup a similar situation where we can flirt with other people, and go out with other people, or fuck other people IF the other partner approves of the person, and it can only happen once (to avoid attachment). I'm thankful to Patrice for helping me to be honest in this relationship from the start so that years on, we're both so honest and frank about everything that we trust eachother completely, and this gives us a superpower that we can let the other fool around with other people and rather than it be a secret, it's something we share. You need a girl who's honest to a fault, but you need to be an honest man from the start. You can't turn around one day in your traditional bullshit relationship and come out with 100% honesty. It has to be from the beginning.

  • @2lowkey100

    I'm sure this works in the right kind of relationship, but there's no way that Patrice was in love with his girl. I have never once heard Patrice say "I'm in love with my girl", and that sums it up. That is why he can so easily equate loving his girl to the same level as loving his family. Patrice actually criticised Opie once by saying "you in love muthafucker", so the reason why Opie can't get past the jealousy is that he was actually IN LOVE (as in constant butterflies and all that corny stuff). This would work perfectly in a vapid relationship, but if you're actually in love, the jealousy would tear you apart. I'm sure patrice loved his girl very much, but he obviously wasn't in love with her.

    • @CultOfBlackPhillip
      @CultOfBlackPhillip  9 лет назад +64

      He said he loved his girl probably hundreds a of times, on and off o and a.
      The butterflies in your stomach feeling you're referring to is nervousness/anxiousness from a person feeling emotions they are unfamiliar with. That's why it's so common among young couples or those who started dating young, they haven't experienced a variety of partners and aren't prepared to deal with their emotions. Then they work themselves up into think the newness of the experience is itself the experience, when it's just their reaction to the relationship.
      Patrice had been loved by plenty of women, he wasn't new to the idea of loving someone emotionally which is why he was able consider these alternative lifestyles. Opie on the other hand was a late bloomer on top of not having much of a life outside his work day. When he felt the slightest emotions for a girl, he dove headfirst in and called it love because he isn't sure he'll ever find love again.

    • @samusgenesis

      +2lowkey100 I dont think that jealousy is supposed to be associated with love naturally. It's through society's emphasis on ownership that jealousy and envy is so apparent in life. People are just use to having it appear together so they assume that its how it supposed to be. True love is only there when you care about the other person's happiness and quality of live only. That means being totally honest when they need some help in life even if they might not want to hear it or like what's being said and encouragement to be happy with whoever they want or need to be with though you would be happier if its with you. It's not as easy to have pure love towards someone but its much better than what's considered love in society today. Through personal growth and social awareness to recognize and separate how you feel and how society wants you to feel, you can get there.
