    I recently got long layers, and it’s completely made my hair so much healthier because it helped me get rid of hair that’s breaking off

      It’s definitely the best haircut for getting rid of most of your split ends… However, now it’s easier for you to get more split ends. If you’re not looking to grow your hair long fast, then it’s definitely OK! You can just do an overall trim every couple months. But if you’re looking to grow your hair out fast and long, then I don’t recommend Layers.

      @@edelydesignsmy hair has been layered for 2 years now and it is so much easier to detangle, as my hair is naturally fine and curly, but I blow dry it straight or straighten it and it has so many split ends higher up in my hair in the shorter layers which I can’t do anything about because if I cut them off I’d have to cut the rest of my hair.

    Lots of great tips. Agree!! Things that worked for me, stop layering hair, stop using hair elastics (I did use cotton ones to tie off a braid which I would do for exercise instead of ponytails), use claw clips to pull back hair, or use satin scrunchies, silk pillowcase, silk scarf over head rest of car seat when driving and around nape of neck in winter with jumpers and coats, deep moisture and diy gelatin treatments, more regular hair washing and scalp care. Also agree on the high quality heat tools. When I was straightening my hair I used a hair dresser quality ionic blow dryer and it would get my hair super smooth and frizz free without needing a flat iron. Much less damage and no breakage.

    Also facts!!! With the layers thing 😭 i have thick hair naturally and i got the trendy butterfly cut and it not only made my hair look thinner, but its been so difficult to grow out! Never again for me.

    Silk or satin pillowcases give me major neck pain. I switched to a silk pillowcase that has cotton on one side. The cotton underside helps it from slipping. No more neck pain and my hair feels less dry (compared to a full cotton pillowcase) in the morning.

    In my opinion, i'm not a fan of applying whole food on your skin/hair, they can have beneficial components in them yes, but if you're applying whole food on your hair, that won't be enough. When it comes to products, they're made to include those beneficial components alone added to other beneficial components from other foods and plants for better results, if you're going to use rosemary on your hair, i suggest you don't use pure rosemary and use good products instead, you can still try the pure only to see the results and test it out. But do try it out. Good video. Good luck on your journey.

    Thanks for the tips. Could you please tell us which heat protectors do you use on a regular basis ?

    • @edelydesigns
      @edelydesigns  7 месяцев назад +2

      Yeah, it’s always changing but recently I make sure my leave in conditioners double as heat protectant. So whenever i blow dry my hair, I just use my regular leave in conditioner. lately I’ve been loving the redken ABC leave in (should be linked in the description!) and then, for heat styling with hot tools lately I’ve been loving an oil heat protectant. I’ve been using Ola Plex, Kerastasse, and shu eumura!

    Hi currently I am facing a very sensitive and flaky scalp(very itchy too) which is also causing my hair to fall. I’m very confused about one thing that should I be shampooing daily to get rid of this( with a mild shampoo) or should do it in 3-5 days with scalp scrubs and heavy duty shampoos?

    • @noneedanickname
      @noneedanickname 6 месяцев назад

      Hi, if your scalp is greasy, you should wash it as often as you need to. There are shampoos that cleanse all the oils but are also built for sensitive scalps. If you keep it clean, the shedding should decrease. I wash it every day/ every 2 days. I have seborrheic dermatitis

      My favorite dandruff shampoo is the Derma E scalp relief. It has made my dandruff go away. I recommend 100%! It costs $13. I been using it for 2 years now. Gentle enough for daily use. Massage shampoo into wet hair and scalp. Allow product to penetrate for 3-5 minutes then rinse. Def research this. :)
