Sekita felt responsible with this loss. Never seen him so upset. But they came back after this loss and made it to the Paris 🎉 Thank you Erik!!

Ryu Yamamoto (#29) was in for Sekita since like you said Erik, they needed height against Egypt and Ryu is 4 inches taller than Sekita iirc. Still a very capable setter, though a bit new to international.
10:27 Nishida's in 6 and Ishikawa's in 1 because they brought in Kento Miyaura, their second opposite, to block for Ryu, so Ishikawa shifts over to set. Hope this helped!

By the way, ran used to be a libero in his younger years (i think he even had some libero games in superlega with padova last year). This is why his passing is so good. Really useful for an outside.

This was the most unexpected and intense match I saw live, I do think they got carried away especially with Ishikawa setting Nishida the pipe and it failing at the end of the third set, after that Egypt was just better. What an upset, the winning kill just silenced the crowd

I remember being extremly shocked at the outcome, everyone thought it was over with Japan's qualification chance but against all odds they managed to recover and got over it. Might have been because they felt too confident againt egypt at the start of the match bbecause they won the first two sets with such a huge point gap.

😢 so sorry for Sekita, who suffered as he couldn't stay himself, and Ishikawa was not in his normal condition. I guess that's vollleyball. After all, Japan went on amazing winning streak after that, so.... if you decided it's worth analyzingヽ(;´ω｀)ﾉ Maybe Egypt's focus and power at that match should be appreciated, too.

During the replay of match, your narration video clip was in the top right corner of match, and was blocking alot of the outside & oppo hitting/blocking action. Perhaps relocate narration video to bottom left of video, or somewhere else? Lol, love and appreciate your videos. ❤😊
