Hey, so it looks like there was an international version (SPB211J1) of this one released but for whatever reason, it's just not as heavily advertised outside of Japan.
I have that same reference (I assume the international version) and I am in love with it. I have already ordered an bracelet but I am having a bit of a hard time trying to get a strap that goes with the dial. The dial is so complex... from light brown when the sunlight hits it to almost black sometimes. I found a very dark brown leather strap to do the job for the moment, but I am really struggling matching this dial with other straps. Any suggestions?
@@BosworthMcG I ordered the presidential and it looks amazing (quality is fine). About the strap situation, a very dark brown leather matches perfectly but looks a bit boring, I also tried a cream sailcloth strap and it looked great. Right now I am wearing it with a light brown suede strap. Still loving this watch.
@@MrXignacioX oh nice! Thanks for the ideas. I ended up going for with Uncles oyster style bracelet but it was a difficult choice between that and the president. I’m glad you’re enjoying yours. I like the cream sailcloth idea too. Where did you order yours from? I think watch bandit does a nice cream sailcloth.
You are right about accuracy My spb 155 is very slow in the box, but if i wear it non stop it keeps time way better. I am currently trying to store it in different positions in order to find the most accurate one, but i think the best would be a watch grinder Wear your watches
I just got the SPB 155, and as far as I can tell this is basically the same watch for less money. The differences I can see are that this one only has a single domed crystal, no chamfering on the watch back, and the bracelet is different. Oh, and the Lug-to-Lug is 1mm shorter. Am I missing something? The model numbers are different (SBDC vs SPB) but I don't know what those numbers mean.
All of the specs are the same, same case and same crystal. Just a different variation of the dial, yours has a green gradient dial, this one has a textured brown sunray dial. The difference in nomenclature is due to yours being an internal model, while this one is only offered to the Japanese market. Also yes, I added an aftermarket bracelet from Uncle Straps, since this one normally comes on a nylon strap.
I just ordered this from sakura, with $32 dhl shipping it was $432 total. I think this is the best price I will ever get for the new alpinist. How's the shipping from them, first time ordering anything from Japan.
Was the jubilee bracelet difficult to get on even with the small spring spring bars? I bought the president bracelet from uncle for my spb159 and I couldn’t get it on the watch even with small spring bars.
I just received my SPB155 in the mail yesterday! I was initially ecstatic, but my bubble burst when I realized that my watch was running, at best, barely within expected tolerances for the movement, but more like +30s/d so far. I don’t know what to do…. Return it and buy another hoping for better results? Contact seiko and see what they say? Keep it and fork over another $100 to have it regulated?? I hate the fact that the excitement of this purchase has been tainted by the inaccuracy of the piece.

I have this bracelet on my Hamilton Khaki Auto 38mm. It is better than any Seiko bracelet I've ever owned. I highly recommend it.

The lug to lug being 1mm shorter is a big difference if trying to find a solid end link bracelet.

Not difficult at all, one side snapped in, no fuss, and the other took less than an extra second of pulling back with a spring bar tool
Strongly considering selling my green dial for this color way instead.
