Thanks... this one wasn't even on the roadmap... just had that epiphany while on Star Tours and came home and made the video. Hope it helps people decide if it is a worthy investment for them. I wish everyone could try the amazing experience motion rigs give you! Thanks for watching!

Well certainly don't watch any other videos or you will REALLY be in trouble. One of the best purchases I've ever made and countless hours of fun and excitement! Thanks for the comment.
I worked in flight simulation training in the business jet world for many years. I watched the tech start to change over from hydraulic to electric systems. This device is definitely a hobbyist or home version of what the big guys use. I'm sure both hard and software will continue to mature. The advent of affordable VR makes a huge positive difference as well. I loved training in and training others in the Simulators. I have a 6 DOF on order and look forward to getting it operational.
Congratulations!!! Did you make sure to order it from the flight or heli tab so you get the "no-cog reducers"? Very important for GA flight. Please let me know how you like it, always good to have professionals watching the channel. What is your favorite aircraft to fly?
I just ordered an H6 this morning and I found this video afterwards and I am going to try and use your 5% discount code so I can get a HOTAS. They sent me and upgrade email after I order asking did I want to upgrade to a P6, so I know they can change the order LOL. I am a gear head and I drive fast cars IRL and I started racing online last year and am amazed with the VR experience. I have a full Fanatec setup up and PSVR2. Its addicting to say the least. The crazy thing is the cars in the game that I have drive identical to the cars I have driven IRL.

I can certainly see where lag would cause issues. Fortunately I've never had a problem with that in any DOF Unit that I've tried so I guess I don't think about that much. Great point and thanks for making it here!
Great video Mark. I’m actually waiting on someone to get back with me on upgrading my rig. Haven’t heard anything yet . I have a feeling that you can’t upgrade mine and I have to purchase the whole new H6 but we’ll see. not having to brake encoders motors, making it difficult to mount the new motors on my platform and then I think I also have to upgrade my control box. And it would. Be really cool if they can come out with a VR theme park something close to Disney World I know they have roller coasters you could do in VR but I mean actually a theme park with some good graphics lol
Thanks Richard, it was my understanding that they will have upgrade paths for all older units... some are just needing a little more time to sort out. Of course we won't know for sure until they have one but they certainly have put the effort in to this point so I don't see them giving up when they are so close to the finish line. Fingers Crossed! Of course the game would probably cost as much as the H6 to run it :) Appreciate you being a long time supporter of the channel, remember to Get Your Game On!!!

How does it maintain orientation inside the cockpit in VR? Unless the simulator itself is the fixed point of reference surely it just feels like you are jiggling about inside the stationary cockpit? For those who dont understand what i mean, imagine sitting inside a real car on a spinning office chair, when the chair spins 180 degrees you are facing the back of the inside of the car, the car doesnt move with you.
That is a whole thing in itself called "Motion Compensation", I've been working on a video on it for probably a year now and everytime I think I'm ready to finish it, something new comes out. There are a lot of factors that go into it, but needless to say you can remove the effect you are talking about. My friend Jeff Weaver did an old video of it, you can watch that here if you are interested ruclips.net/video/1MqGO46xdtI/видео.html... or just give me a week and mine will be live. Great question, thanks for asking.
looks awesome but ive always wanted a walking one. VR games where you walk with the stick or teleport kill the immersion for me. There are some available but i think they need more time.
Agreed, this is for vehicle simulation not roomscale stuff. From what I understand those treadmills feel like walking on Ice so I'm not interested in them either. Give it time, something will come along. Thanks for watching.
I did just out of precaution. See here ruclips.net/video/RNk-c88FNtA/видео.html But I hear from people all the time that they can just plug it into a regular outlet and it works great. If you do decide on the H6/P6 you want to try and plug each box in to a separate circuit in your house but other than that it should be just fine. Thanks for the question.
I’m fairly tech savvy with a vr flight sim and racing rig but I’m concerned about how not-plug-and-play the H6 might be. Motion compensation and software setup are intimidating and keep me from pulling the trigger on one.
If you are "fairly tech savvy" then you should be fine. I know I sound like a broken record... but I'll have my Motion Compensation video out hopefully by the end of next week. That should help get you over that hurdle. What VR headset are you using?
@@jackassery4656 u don't need to be tech savvy per say...what u need is the ability to follow instructions to the T for erecting the chair, after that u need to be intuitive enough about windows, to guess the possible causes of a comm port conflict. The only thing I'm missing from the H6 is continuous yaw like in the Yaw 3. Do you think it could be added in future DOF models, or as an update to existing models? It would make the whole experience more realistic, in race sims, coaster sims, flight sims...
Actually the continuous Yaw does not add as much realism as you might think. Yaw rate is far more important than the actual rotation 360 degrees. Jeff Weaver and I discuss it in our latest video if you are interested in more info you can watch it here ruclips.net/video/c_GZ8W07ieg/видео.html Because of this, I doubt it will ever be a priority for DOF to add. Thanks for the comment.
@@GYGOtv Thanks! Haha, I know what you think about the continuous Yaw :) I'm not saying that it's the most important thing. However I'm saying that it shouldn't be so difficult to implement (just a rotating base), and that any serious motion sim should have it among other features. If Yaw3 can have it for about $4K, then surely the H6 should have it for more than double the price. ;)
@@JosedelaMancha Well not only what I think, but what Jeff Weaver thinks too and he has forgotten more about sim motion then we will ever know! So we can just agree to disagree, the benefit you get from it is far overshadowed by the downside of having to worry about wires getting wrapped up (or needing a good wireless option) from the 360 rotation, the need for the extra space needed for it to spin, etc. I personally don't think it is worth all the headaches it introduces... but for those that disagree, they can pick up a Yaw3, it would be perfect for them.
@@GYGOtv We don't necessarily disagree :) Having continuous yaw is always a "plus". You simply think that such "plus" is not worth the hassle, and I understand why (wires, space). But technically it's still a "plus", and if there were an easy way to add it, probably every manufacturer would be doing it. You can find continuous yaw in ridiculously expensive motion sims such as the Force Dynamics 401CR, and I think there's a reason for that: the "real thing" (continuous yaw) is always better (even if just slightly) than simulating the real thing. BTW some of the technical issues can be solved easily. For example wires. Wireless may not be an option yet, for many reasons. But having an onboard computer definitely is (in the back of the seat, or below the seat, or below the feet, it all depends on the sim). If the computer rotates too, then the problem is solved. As for space, I know a rotating sim may take up more space. But it's not a lot (e.g. the Yaw3 only requires 6.5" diameter or 200cm). Surely people who are able to invest that much money in a sim can find a way to get such space. I certainly can. I also think it depends on games. Maybe you're not a fan of driving sims or games where continuous yaw makes a difference. I feel that the physical sensation is not the same with continuous yaw, but I'm not an expert and I haven't had the chance to try all available motion sims. As for the Yaw3, it's far from perfect, but it's improving with every new iteration (e.g. it's way more silent than the Yaw2). It still lacks some of the H6 features (it has less DOF), but it's also way cheaper. And maybe the missing DOF can be added someday. They are translational DOF, so probably easier to add than rotational DOF. We live in an exciting era, and I'm curious to see what the future brings. :)
@@GYGOtv We don't necessarily disagree :) Having continuous yaw is always a small "plus", even Jeff Weaver says it in the video (when he talks about drifting, rudder, etc). You simply think that such "plus" is not worth the hassle, and I understand why (wires, space). But technically it's still a "plus", and if there were an easy way to add it, probably every manufacturer would be doing it. BTW Jeff Weaver's argument that "if you feel you're losing traction it means that you're not driving correctly" is a bad argument. A motion sim doesn't care if you drive correctly or not. it has to be true to reality, period. You can't just disregard all the people who are fans of drifting and rally games. You can find continuous yaw in ridiculously expensive motion sims such as the Force Dynamics 401CR, and I think there's a reason for that: the "real thing" (continuous yaw) is always better (even if just slightly) than simulating the real thing.

It pains me to see you spend so much on a motion rig and then use a G29 lol. Sick setup though!
LOL, you are not the first to mention that and I've had my eye on a Sim Magic Alpha as it will fit in the spot where the G27 is. I just don't like any of the wheels for those and that is probably what is keeping me from pulling the trigger... well that and the cost :) Appreciate the comment, and give me time. When I get heavily back into racing I'll be upgrading.
Ironically.... You dont feel motion in space. So this is not realistic for space games. LOL
Actually in Star Wars you can see the pilots shake and move as they pilot their X-Wings and Y-Wings so it is actually quite realistic to the Star Wars Universe... ruclips.net/video/3yWrXPck6SI/видео.html ...I know... Nerd Alert :)
@@GYGOtv Haha. Maybe for the Hollywood movie but not in real life space.
@@MrJerrad79 Yep, but I still love having the motion in any vehicle I'm playing in, space or not. Thanks for the comment.
I wasn't trying to harp on you in any way. I know it's all for fun. I wish I had one of those but it's way out of my budget. Enjoy 😊
@@MrJerrad79 I didn't take it in a bad way, I thought we were just having fun :) You know you can pick up an H2 for around $2000 and it is a great addition if you are into simming! dofreality.com/product/racing/motion-racing-rig-2-axis-hero-h2/ I have a 5% discount too that should help.
