    For those who don't know, the power section (into the effects return) of the Orange Super Crush 100 is identical to the pedal baby (sans eq). It was a big selling point for me when I bought the SC100 combo 2 years ago. Careful though, the SC100 might just sound good enough in its own right to make you drop your modeler.

    This comment is coming in late, but I'm using the Seymour Duncan power stage 700 through a 4X 12. I know it's a little bit of overkill, but you never have to worry about keeping up with anybody else. Would like to look into getting a tube powered amp, though, to see if it sounds a bit more organic. I'm having to EQ the power stage a little bit more than I'd like to. Sounds a little sterile. ( With that said, it is running four gt75s , which I'm not really a fan of anymore)

    • @MrStephenlederle
      @MrStephenlederle Год назад

      @briantost7125 I do. However, I switched to the Seymour Duncan Powerstage 700. The Orange Peadal Baby 100 added too much of the "Orange" tone, but I don't like that particular color for guitar tones. The SD PS790 is a pure neutral tone with a 3-band EQ. If you like or don't mind the Orange Pedal Baby coloring the IR-Xs tones, then it's a great setup.

    How do you turn off the power amp section of the models in the Quad Cortex?

    • @jimmyfranklin
      @jimmyfranklin  7 месяцев назад

      So you can’t turn off the power amp section on QC from what I know. You have to use the full amp block just turn offf the cabs. Some modelers allow you to use preamps such as the helix.

But I have the Pod Go instead of Quad Core and as Cabinet I have an Harley Benton 2x12 with vintage celestions...However I see that for me is very challenging anytime I go to play in a different spot to get the same best sound that I reached the last time after spending hours on settings...So probably a video tutorial with Pod go and Pedal baby and cab could be also cool :-)))...thank u....you are great anyway..like your playing

    I have a question. So if I want to use a cab on stage to monitor my sound I should turn off the cab simulation. I get that. But I also want to run out of my QC to FOH which I need my cab simulation on. How do you do that with the QC? Thanks in advance

    • @jimmyfranklin
      @jimmyfranklin  Год назад

      Excellent question! You would simply rout two signals in the quad. You can do this two ways. You can run a “dual cab” rig and rout them to separate outs and one on the lines has the cab sim off for the cab and on for FOH
      The other way is two have two identical rigs set on two separate lines to different outputs. Depending on if you are using scenes or stomp mode you may want to do one or the other.
      Did that make sense??

      I would love to see a blind a/b test on this. A LOT of audio perception is based around confirmation bias. I'm not saying you're wrong just that quite often if you put it down to a blind test a lot of these things disappear and they are actually confirmation bias. Lee Anderton described this in an early Kemper video. He wanted the Kemper to sound different because he loves tube amps and finds modelling unromantic and the fact is that purely from an audio perspective there is more variation between units of the same amp than a good capture and its relative amp. I wonder if the same applies here. I have both a Marshall SV20h and a Stomp I use with the Pedalbaby - both setups into a Zilla cab so no skin in the game.
