I’m having such a lovely time binging your videos. Adore the knitting content and all the glimpses into your life! Thanks for keeping me company while I craft!! ❤❤❤
Had a giggle of recognition in being alone and feeling unmoored. When became disabled and son finally out of house at 31!!! took a while to purge of all shoulds. If I am tired I lay down at 4, or go to bed at 7, have breakfast for supper, watch videos at MN... basically I am a 66yo who never could do this til now. There were brief snippets in my 20's and 30's when I was actually relaxed to my toes then not until 2021 did life make the turn. Glad you are getting a breather before the big change.
As I watch this video, I am alone with coveted time on my hands, feeling as you say "lost at sea". I dream of time alone with no structure and when the opportunity comes, which is rare, I am unsure of what to do next. I loved this video, and your previous video of the shepards hut. What a beautiful area, the views are beautiful and the peacfullness radiates across the screen. I never once doubted your ability to create what you were asked to. Why is it that we doubt ourselves so when others believe in us? I love your videos, thank you for always being you and sharing your thoughts and feelings! Maybe you could go back and work on your relaxing skills. 😊
LOVE your shepherds hut, looks lovely and relaxing perfect for knitting. It takes time to unwind and relax from day to day life. How beautiful to see some deer. Thank you for sharing :)
Two days all alone?!? That sounds wonderful! I think I would love that! Thanks for sharing your peace and quiet with us! And now I can't wait to see your hair! ❤
The time I stayed in the other but I had solitude but this time wasn’t that way as I had a task to do and I went out for dinner with my family, but it was a nice change to the daily routine. 😁
Love seeing your beautiful face! My hair was just like yours a few years ago and I went in for a stacked bob. I've never been happier! It makes my hair look actually thick!
You are going to have book yourself a day longer next time, it is such a beautiful place to stay. My hair gone really, really thin as well - it was the after-effects of the virus, but 4 months later wisps of its started to show and now it is thicker, not like it used to be, but not see through either! But hair does grow back when you cut it so it will be okay.
My hair has benefitted from chopping it off but I so wish I had thicker hair so I could wear it longer. The blooming virus is horrible. I still feel a bit low after having it a year ago. X
Hi Cuckoo how nice to see you back at the shepherds huts & not leaving unwell this time How good to have Self Time I’m sure the filming for Phil will be good Being your own critic is the pits but from where we all were it looked GREAT See you next time 🥰
I'm sold from what you showed us for the hut , loved it , so different and totally relaxing. It would have been bliss. Thank you for sharing Gayna and know or think I know you had a haircut. You had better do another podcast to show us. Went to your patreon and see its sold out, that is wonderful but I have missed out until someone pulls out I guess.Love to see the finished sock tube with the after thought heel and toes.
I have had to limit the numbers whilst I sort out some finance stuff linked up to Bill’s disability entitlements. Hopefully I’ll be able to open it up again but do check back as people come and go, I encourage people to join for a month and catch up then rejoin months later when there’s more to watch. X
Lovely place so relaxing to watch, I'm in the middle of a few days alone, my husband has gone away for a break with some friends for the first time in a long time he has been very ill and this is part of his recovery for him and me, I feel lonely and have also been so busy with life that I don't know how to relax, I have also taken a couple of days off technology just to clear my mind, then a quick look and I saw your video, perfect thankyou just what I needed like an old friend just popped in when I needed them ❤
If you’re anything like me I’d have been looking forward to the break so much and then when it came around I’d be lost and wouldn’t know what to do with myself. I’d wander about and be unsettled. Rita (in the comments) suggested to me to make a sort of schedule of things I wanted to do and enjoy, that way there’s a guide to follow when you feel lost. I also think going out for a few hours to a garden centre or similar helps because the coming home sort of resets the brain. X
Lovely video, perfect Sunday afternoon viewing. I LOVE your pink cardigan, is that one you knitted? If so please could you let me know the pattern? Hope you got home feeling rested xxx
Your stay looked wonderful, so cozy and relaxed. A beautiful spot. I have very thick hair, it is long but I have had a very stressful 3 years health wise and it started to come out at an alarming rate, only it was so thick no one noticed. Trip to the Doctors and I got some pills these really helped. My hairdresser is my best friend so she keeps it looking great. I am 61 now and people still complement me on my hair, but I am glad I got the hair loss sorted as it was bad enough being I’ll still this is what life throws at you, you just have to keep getting up and moving on. Lovely to see you again and looking so well. X
What did the doctor prescribe? I’d like to keep that up my sleeve for if my hair thins any further. I’m so sorry you have been unwell for so long. That must be draining xxx
Gosh, Gayna, it's so delightful to start the day with you. What a charming shepherd's hut. The only thing I would miss is a reclinging chair for knitting and reading. I live in sheep country and lots of people have remodeled their little old shepherd's wagons into vbro accommodations. They are a little smaller than your hut. BTW, at this very minute I am wearing the exact same drop pearl earrings that you're wearing. I actually think you look better on the camera than on the phone.
I love these earrings! They were a special present from Tiffany’s years ago. We are twins! Yes I did miss a little comfy chair and a table to put my knees under but I was still very comfy. I will take a fold up camping chair next time. There will be a next time as I love it there. Xxx
How lovely to see you again! That hut looks amazing and glad you had a lovely and productive visit! Such a wonderful setting to totally relax. I used to like your hair shorter so hope you went for it! Lots of love and take care love WW xx
I did! Have a Bob and sometimes it looks ok and others I look wild 🤪 it feels much healthier though so I think it was a good move. Hope you’re well, Winky, see you soon! X
Looked like an amazing getaway. I also have a bit of a struggle being alone like you were talking about. Helps me to have a plan like go on a walk, knit, maybe do a little painting or something that I don’t normally do. Thanks for sharing your time with us Gana ❤️
Looks like you had an amazing time Gayna. The little air guitar and mic action made me laugh! I would be just like you and unable to settle until that video was done! I’ve come to the conclusion its easier to accept who we are than to try and change 😊 Don’t complain about your thin here, mine is too thick and bushy and I moan about it all the time! Never happy are we? 😆
So excited when I saw a new video! Thanks for sharing this beautiful place-and making me laugh😍Feel the same as you-need to learn to compartmentalize🥴Loved the little cat in the background-and your projects!🧶🌺
I’ll always be back, I think 4 weeks is the longest I have ever left it between videos in 5 years and I have no intention of stopping RUclips. I love it here 🤩 it’s been a really busy May/June with lots of little things. I have a lot of sock knitting to share as that’s all I could put my mind to 😝. Hope you’re well, Poggy sends her love x

It’s been like a mini monsoon here at times today. Short deluges of rain, I got caught in one going from a shop to the car and was wet through to my skin in seconds. X
Bonjour Cuckoo. Compliments to Phil and Mandy. They turned it into little pieces of paradise. I could happily ever after live there. If it wasn't for my husband. Would miss him after a couple of days. 😂
The hut and location looks amazing. I think it often takes a couple of days to relax even on a longer holiday so quite understand how you felt. We crave for time on our own and then it feels strange. Glad all went well with the filming.
Awww wonderful Gayna! It looks delightful! I know what you mean I don’t like letting people down and I worry needlessly I wasn’t always like that but it’s a confidence thing as I’ve got older! Honestly you’re amazing 😘🤗 I love all of your videos, you are just up my street, easy going and lovely, with a heart of gold! Ps I think your hair is lovely 💛🩵💛🩵🙌🙌👏👏😘🤗😽

So enjoyed this Gayna ,the hut looked delightful.Looking forward to seeing your new hairstyle,I've watched your videos for a few years and remember how wonderful you looked with your hair shorter 😊❤ xx
That hut looks so relaxing!! I understand tho; when you lead such a busy life full of schedules your kind of lost when you get to relax 🤪. Glad you gave yourself a couple days away! You deserve it ❤️
Oh how lovely! I could live in that beautiful hut ❤️ The views were so relaxing. Silly me would want to pet the deer, lol. Your furry visitor was darling. I love kitty cats. You'll have to pack a small treat for the cat next time. That was very nice of you making the hot tub video. Hope you love whatever you had done with your hair.
Lynn here on Hubby's phone mines playing up 😏, Awwww Gana , what a relaxing place too be and I've heard, Glastonbury the place itself is lovely , maybe a Holiday for next year , who knows 😊, Take Care Love xx
Those huts look LOVELY! Glad you were able to go back. You may be too young to remember but those Now That's What I Call Music LPs were a really exciting development. When I was younger and started to be really interested in pop music - by which I mean in the mid-to-late 70s - the only compilation albums *I knew of* (there may have been others) which included music *from more than one performer* (ie not something like Queen Greatest Hits) were the Top of the Pops records. Sounds fine doesn't it? Except they weren't the real artists, they were covers by no one you'd ever heard of. I remember being given one and being really excited and then hugely disappointed when I realised it wasn't the real performers! So when the NTWICM records arrived they were absolutely brilliant because it really was Queen, or whoever. I have no idea what changed in the industry but I wouldn't mind betting someone behind the idea had been subjected to one too many Top of the Pops erzatz compilations.
It’s funny but I preferred the other one! It had electricity for charging phones up but you couldn’t use a hairdryer. I loved feeling like I was in a bubble away from the world. X
Not yet! He came on the second night with the boys and took me out for supper. He had a good look around and said he might like to come next time. I’m not sure it’s his thing really, he likes to be able to look out at the sea somewhere hot for a mini break. X
I can see Thats a lovely cozy and quiet place to be 🤗 I love your dress with stripes, did you make it yourself ? it was lovely to see you again , and I can’t wait to see you with your new haircut , bob haircut is perfect to give some fullness ❤ greetings from Denmark
Hello 👋 Bobo didn’t make it, a friend passed it down to me. It’s supposed to be a fitted bodice with a full skirt but it’s 3 sizes too big for me so I wear it as a loose smock and it’s one of my most favourite things to wear. It was from TOAST originally. X
Knit to your heart’s content ❤ 😊 I love this Place , more than the last. I think I could live in full time with my pup Ollie. He’s only ten pounds . I would also drink wine and eat dessert, while knitting.😅 maybe Phil will give you a discount, ( for making the video for him ) so you can come back soon, and thoroughly relax then.
I didn’t pay for my stay this time because I did the video so that was a big discount 😄 but I’d love to go back discount or no discount. Returning people do have a discount code they get to use. I could see myself living small and slow in a hut in a different life. X
Gayna, you might need to make a timed schedule of what you want to do when you have real time for yourself. If you are like me you will just sleep your time away. I’m so used to just doing for my disabled husband that when I do get some time to myself I don’t know what to do, so I sleep. I’ve started giving myself 5 things each day to do for myself. It’s hard. It’s really hard to know what I really want to do let alone allow for 5 things in one day. When you are a giver, it’s hard to think about one’s self. But! We have too, we need to. Try a timed list next time. It will give you structure you need and the permission to learn to relax.
That’s a good idea. Once I got my knitting out I felt I had a purpose again so crafting is definitely the way forward for me! I hope you do get some time to yourself, Rita, it’s difficult constantly caring for someone and not being able to check in with yourself. X
@@talesfromcuckooland thank you, but it’s just me and him our children well 4 of them feel no responsibility toward his care. I have 3 children and he has 3 and his children hate me because I married their father and 1 of mine is angry at my husband because she begged him to care for himself and take his diabetes meds and he would not. Sooo 3 blame me for his bad health the other 3 blame him… my older sons are a little help… it’s all confusing and overwhelming but my older boys have jobs and can’t really help me… so I’m learning to to relax lol ohhh it’s hard lol but I’m learning.
Sarah! You are a knitter!!! You must be so pleased with yourself. I did indeed remember my toothbrush this time. In fact I packed rather well for once 😂
Hi Gayna. Looks like you had a great time. Your camera might be set on a filter or have HDR on. See if you can find it in the menu and change the filter to something else. 😊 I used a rosemary shampoo when my hair thinned out after a stressful event. It grew back lovely and thick, although rosemary shouldn’t be used if you suffer from high blood pressure, epilepsy or other seizure disorders. My shampoo had other essential oils in it so I didn’t smell like a roast lamb. 😂
Roast lamb ha ha ha!! I like the smell of rosemary. My hair thinning is down to fluctuating high testosterone so I’m not sure if anything topical will help but it’s worth a try. I’ll look into the camera thing. Did you prefer the camera footage or the phone footage? X
@@talesfromcuckooland I liked both actually. Your camera was great for the scenic footage and the phone for footage with people in it. However, if you can work out how to change the filter on your camera you will be able to do both on the camera. 😊 I also think that ultimately the camera will give you better footage overall once you get the settings right and the sound was fabulous! BTW I loved the smell of rosemary in my hair. It’s a very comforting smell for me. ❤️
I felt the camera footage was less stable and jerky with my movements but it was great not having wind noise. Maybe I could use both depending on where I am filming.
@@talesfromcuckooland sounds good. ☺️ You just bring so much joy to people all around the world Gayna. I think you could film on a vintage camcorder and they would love what you do.😁 And besides the more you use the camera, the steadier you’ll become. Can’t wait to see your next video. ❤️
Hi Gayna! Len’s hut looks great, and when you went last time i did wonder about the bed especially the mattress and you said they were Tempur and that is what we have now after many years of trying everything else for our poor ole backs 😅 and it is brilliant, so a stay there would be ok in that respect. Waiting to do the “shoot” in the hot tub would of made anyone anxious, especially as you wanted to do a good job, shame it wasn’t done earlier on in your short stay so you could start to relax sooner. Did you manage to play any of those LP’s ? Loved George Michael, and Sade, we had our first wedding dance to Sade “Your Love is King” 😊 You can have some of my thick blonde out of control hair 😂 Maybe if you go shorter it will strengthen it and being shorter will look more full? I’ve always liked you hair😊 Love & Hugs Suze. Xxx P.S I expect they might have some old metal chicken feeders at the farms around you, or in that farm shop where you get your veg?. X
I’ve had a prowl around the farm already for stuff I think is treasure and they don’t use but not come up trumps. Yes ideally I’d have liked to film on a separate day and then go and stay but the timings didn’t allow for that in Phil’s schedule. I didn’t play the LP’s in the end, I forgot they were there 🙄
Ted. That was my favourite. But that might have been because I really needed the down time after Christmas, I loved the wood burner and it felt like an adventure! Truly I’d be happy to go to which ever one was available. X
Cliffhanger! Did you get your hair cut off? I feel the same about mine these days. Used to have really thick hair, now I can see through it. Contemplating going shorter, but a bit scared it will age me 🫨 I AM old, so don’t know what I’m worrying about really. 🙄 The shepherd’s hut looks idyllic. I had to laugh though when the cat was creeping up behind you in the tub. 😅
That’s Dexter, I’d been trying to woo him but he was having none of it. Phil said I need to give him cheese next time. I did get my hair cut and people say I look younger which wasn’t the idea but no complaints!
I can imagine it would out some people off but I loved having nothing to think about other than myself when I went the first time. It was a proper reset xx

It was! I loved it. I think the other hut has my heart because I liked being off grid, it felt exciting and calming. X
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO TOBY!
Looks like the perfect getaway to unwind and reset 😊
I’ve passed on your birthday wishes 😊
So happy to see you!! I can’t wait to see your new haircut!! Hope you went for it…hair always grows back! ❤❤❤
I did! I have a Bob now and it feels peculiar still 😅
Mwah, your back! ❤🎉
Oh yes, never gone for too long, you’re not that lucky ha ha!!! 😂
Phil said I can woo the cat with cheese so that’s coming with me next time. X
@@talesfromcuckoolandis there a third hut?? I loved the first 2.
No, just the two huts.
Lynn here on Hubby's phone mines playing up 😏, Awwww Gana , what a relaxing place too be and I've heard, Glastonbury the place itself is lovely , maybe a Holiday for next year , who knows 😊, Take Care Love xx
Glastonbury is quirky and I’ve had some hilarious times there. Nearby Wells is a good holiday spot too. X
@@talesfromcuckooland Lynn Again, Thanks Gana , I'll take a look for somewhere to stay , I need it on the flat you see 🤗❤️
What a wonderful place to stay !
It’s a special place for sure!
Oh no! 😝😝😝 that’s like those awful cover albums they play in shops. I’d have hated that too. So disappointing!
I’ve been watching your earlier podcast when your hair is short it’s beautiful
I’ve had it cut off into a Bob and I’m getting used to it. I got rained on today and look dreadful 😆
Love the shepherds hut…I have to admit the electricity in this one makes it much more appealing! I’m not a camper!
It’s funny but I preferred the other one! It had electricity for charging phones up but you couldn’t use a hairdryer. I loved feeling like I was in a bubble away from the world. X
Lynn Again , might I ask Gana have you been with you Hubby there yet ? Take care 💗
Not yet! He came on the second night with the boys and took me out for supper. He had a good look around and said he might like to come next time. I’m not sure it’s his thing really, he likes to be able to look out at the sea somewhere hot for a mini break. X
Gayna what was the name of your long Cardigan you were wearing in this Video? And what yarn did you use. Love love love you my Dear❤
Omg gayna I would love to leave my hubby and kids at home I could live there and be totally happy !!! Fantastic vlog
I felt that way back in January but I missed them this time so we ended up going for a pub supper the second evening 😂😂😂😂
Loved seeing your stay in the other Shepherd's hut. I would have loved all those LPs but they would be my husband's nightmare lol!
I ran out of time to play the records. I needed just a few more hours. X
@@talesfromcuckooland good excuse to book again 😃
Beautiful place to stay enjoy x
It really is!
I share your hair status. Supporting you that ... sisterhood. Wishing you a good day, week, month!
Poor us with see through wispy cobwebs 🤪
@@talesfromcuckooland Yah ... ugh. Lovely post, says me from the west coast of the U.S.
Did you pack your toothbrush?!?!😂😂😂. I’m so happy to see you! I knit three hats last week and I owe it all to you💗💗💗💗
Sarah! You are a knitter!!! You must be so pleased with yourself. I did indeed remember my toothbrush this time. In fact I packed rather well for once 😂
What are you wearing looks knitted and lovely
Hi Glenda 👋, it’s the Modern Wrapper Fine by Church Mouse designs. I wear it loads so it was worth all that knitting!
I love this shepherd's hut, too. What a lovely getaway! Now, I want to know if you were brave and had your hair cut?
Yep! I chopped of about 8” of wispy hair! I’m still getting used to it, it’s not as easy as my long hair. X
I got similar hair and also want to chop it off 😊 does your hair get tangled easily? Mine does...
It’s not too tangly as it’s fairly slippery so the knots fall out. But it’s rather static now I’ve had it chopped off 🫣
I didn’t play the LP’s in the end, I forgot they were there 🙄
So if you're planning to go back a third time, which hut will you pick? Len, with the "electrickery", wifi &c or off-grid Ted?
@@talesfromcuckooland Ooh, looking forward to seeing the new hairdo! xx
💗💗💗
Hello pet 😊
Nice place Gayna.
Have you seen the cat in the background, when you have taken your bath.😻
Xxo Renate from GERMANY
That’s Dexter, I’d been trying to win him over all morning. Next time I am to give him cheese apparently 🐱
beautiful place to stay Gayna . Now please dont wait to long for the next instalment . I need to see how your Hair looks lol hugs Beth
Ha ha ha! It’s a mess today but it’s been behaving itself mostly. I wish I had long thick hair 🥹
@@talesfromcuckooland lol me to
So lovely. Such a pity they don’t allow pets.
I can imagine it would out some people off but I loved having nothing to think about other than myself when I went the first time. It was a proper reset xx
