Watching from Canada. The wood is incredible. I like the tuck away table and box benches. The idea of wood burning stove for heat and an oven. I thank you for posting this video.
I hardly know where to begin this is such an impressive build. Fantastic toilet! Link to the diverter? Your sense of aesthetics is very closely aligned with mine and I especially love the plumbing fittings. And the carpentry treatment under the bed! You've made the mostest from the leastest amount of space.
A beautiful piece of work Al! Such a level of detail and built-in functionality. Small buildings can have as much work in them as much bigger buildings. The work is in all the corners, joints and making every element fit into it's neighbour, often with no "standard solution" available off the peg. Well done!
First shepherd's hut I've seen on a trailer. Instead of the traditional 4 wheel wagon carriage. I like the interior styling. Looks spacious. The slide out table, steps and seating are a great idea.Especially for utilizing space. Woodstove with oven very nice. Overall nice build.
This is an amazing, beautiful and incredibly functional living space. I’m amazed at the craftsmanship in this build. I’d definitely consider this as a tiny home for myself.
If you want things well vented when you cook, then you need to put a vent in the wall above the cooking space/cooktop area! Leaving the front door open is not a practical way to vent cooking fumes.
i love the fully removable table upgrade you’ve done in this build! recently found your channel and am gaining lots of inspiration for my own build later this year! thanks for sharing with us! blessings- from central texas ❤️🙏🏻
Very nice tiny house. Well planned with good material in and out. Everything is well planned out. I like the step and table slideouts. Very easy to keep neat and clean.Good get away home.
You have amazing skill, I wish we had someone in South Africa who did this. I live in Botswana 🇧🇼, and love tiny homes, because I am on a game farm, a shepherd s hut is better, a bit higher... love the curve roof...a true Gypsy wagon, for a Gypsy Soul like myself... one day... I have mine. ❤thanks for keeping the dream alive.
some nice touches there, I'm surprised though that no one seems to put any high level ventilation in so you don't have to rely so much on opening windows, especially when used in Scotland with the lovely midges to contend with, my background is in the boating world and mushroom vents in the roof are common
Should have a small sofa bed in the living space, just in case you have a guest sleep over and it's not too clustered...😊 You can use fragrance disposal bags and throw in some dried leaves for each toilet use and dispose it so the toilet will always stay clean ....
I like the shelf under the window. I can see a kitty sitting on that window shelf. Lots of good company. I do prefer board and batten to shiplap though, I think it looks more expensive. And off it goes!
I know what you mean about board and batten - has a certain appeal. Shiplap is better as its thinner overall (one layer rather than two) and that actually makes a critical difference with roof overhangs, as I'm limited by legal width limits for towing on the road.
I do so enjoy your videos. Thank you so much for sharing. I've clocked the brand of the trailer but would you mind sharing more details on the trailer please. It looks to be exactly what I'm after. The four jacks are such a wonderful touch. Many thanks, Hannah
It's a Vlemmix tiny house trailer. I tend to use the 6.0m version. This year I'll be using the Plateau model, which means I don't have the wheel arches to deal with, but the trailer is a little higher.
Thanks! Check out The Peerie Neuk on Facebook or Insta. Mel has done a great job with it adding finishing touches. www.isleholiday.com/holiday-rentals/146989-the-peerie-neuk
Two small strips of wood on the floor (20mm wide, 8mm high) and the same on the boxes to fit outside of ones on floor. Boxes also have felt on them so they slide. Floor runners are tapered at the start so the boxes locate into them easily. It works really nicely, as long as you keep the floor swept!
Great tour, thanks Al. Two questions: bimetallic corrosion in the shower area-have you checked that copper plus galv or brass plus galv are ok to touch? The seating boxes that slide in or out-the gap is not quite big enough to permanently fix a upholstered bit of foam (or thin wool stuffed mattress) on it. That would have been useful. Love the hut overall, quality work! 🙂
Thanks for the comments! Galv and brass are fine to touch I believe so this shouldn’t be an issue. Good point on the boxes, they weren’t designed for permanent upholstery but it’s something I might suggest to clients in future.
So beautiful, I currently live in a tiny home on wheels 24ft by 8ft 6 wide, love living tiny I would love to build a hut. Do you have instructional video's or just video's of them once they are completed.
Thanks. Sorry I haven't done any plans or instructional videos, it would be a crazy amount of work to do in enough detail so not something I'd have time for unfortunately.
@@Simplesimple123 I am in BC Canada I'm starting my 7th yr in it I think and I have never had a problem finding a spot. I rent private land. I love living tiny it's hard sometimes to find a magical spot for all the things that you love but after tripping over it twice you don't love it so much then it's easy to part with.
Returning to your site to look again at your careful, plastic free work. Curious to know how the curved roof handles the rain with no gutters. It's looks as though it would roll down the sides of the house./ You don't ship overseas, but would you consider selling plans for the bed/cabinet design? (Copyright it or however it is builders secure their original work of course)
Yes I have played with gutters, but the issues is my max width for UK roads is 2.55m. So I cannot add gutters. But it would be a good idea for the client to add them if not moving regularly as the cladding would last longer. I don't have any plans, sorry. I build it differently each time and kinda make it up depending on timber I have etc.
Sorry missed this one! Yes it’s possible but would add a lot of complications and cost. Sealing flashing to a corrugated roof can be tricky. I’m always trying to avoid weak spots that will need ongoing maintenance
We have built a mancave in our garden which is about 17 feet by 11 feet - is that similar to your dimensions here? Just wondering if we could do something similar
@@thewildcroft fair enough. I'm just finishing a joinery course, and I'd love to make some sort of Vardo or Shepherds hut. Most tiny houses are quite box like, and not so pretty!
Theres a water heating teqnique that coils copper tubing thats filled with water arround the stoves flume. Might be a good recycling use of exess heat.
Of course! I can attach some flotation barrels and a sail and give it a shove in the right direction. Should be with you sometime later in the year... :)
I also do not understand how the pipes do not freeze when the stove isn't monitored. Does the insulation and copper pipe prove adequate? This is not an idle question.
Yes the copper pipe being inside does not need to be insulated. Any pipe underneath or within the frame would be insulated. If you left the home for weeks unheated in winter it would be wise to drain the plumbing just in case.
It’s really lovely but I don’t like the exposed copper pipes coming out from the boiler quite horrible.i say that because I had the same coming out from my boiler and they annoyed me big time
Yep definitely a personal taste thing! In fact a friend of mine actually has a real phobia of exposed pipes! Very easy to put a removable panel to hide it if required though.
Yeah it works this way just fine but the other way round gives more options, I’ll be doing it opposite way round next time. It really depends on the site, often it’s only possible to tow in one way so I design for that.
Beautifully made and so well thought out. I love the pullout, freestanding table and boxes for seating. I hope the owner has many happy years in it. 💙
Oh yes, the pull out table and boxes is a fantastic idea
Absolutely beautiful perfect I love it
Now this is a nice one level tiny home ❤

Great job bloke

I use to have a jalousy window above the kitchen stove, and just cranked it open when cooking. Don't need the extra fan exhaust above.

Vents tend to be noisy in windy places so that’s the main reason I guess.
Nice video 📹

Yes we left space for a sofa and the client has put one in. Search for perrie neuk on Insta or Facebook for photos when furnished. :)
Check-out French builder Baluchon. I like yours better in fact, but certainly food for thought in approximately the same length.
Love it ❣️ So very cute
You gave me several ideas for my tiny house, I wish I could use sheep wool for insulation I am sure someone in Arizona would say that's sheep abuse.

This is great. Do you have any issues with the hut caused by traveling it?
😊 I thought that too... It was great seeing it drive off, but they weren't hanging about were they
Beautiful how did you create the runners for the seats and the steps the rest I can work out

Removable seat cushions could easily live on the bed until needed. That way replacing them would be very simple!
I am not sure If I just missed it, how are the inside measurements and how is it insolated?
Needs a kitchen vent, bathroom vent ( open windows/doors not ideal in winter) bathroom sink. Other than that it's fantastic!

Well done! What are the dimensions? Such good use of space and the table and seats are capital.
It's 6m long by 2.5m wide. Plus a small 50cm deck
I want one 😍

Yes something I've considered but it requires having a hot water tank somewhere and that's not easy to fit in! It would also be quite expensive.
Sir, where could we buy an exact model and size of a woodstove, like on this video...?
It's a Louis Ranger, made by Windy Smithy (UK)
C'est très joli ces petites roulotes en bois, quel est le prix ?
Thank you! Prices are on our website: thewildcroft.co.uk

About 2.5 ton
Love to know length and width of beautiful hut
