Depending on what type of venting you have in your wall, ceiling or attic will determine how often you should clean your dryer venting. Homes will typically have vinyl/plastic flex venting, metal flex venting or solid metal venting. The flexible venting accumulates the most lint and needs to be cleaned once a year. The solid metal venting has the least resistance and may only need to be cleaned once every few years.
