I've always wondered why he never smiles but yet claims to be awakened, but now I understand why. People never really cared about getting to know him and he has always been the one giving but watch how his face lit up just by sharing his story. Its great to see him smile.

You know, boat people from Vietnam usually are of Chinese origin, and were quite rich there, so they had a lot to loose when leaving Vietnam, if not their life... His way of having grown up is a Chinese way... And I thing he is much more confused by now, than really rooted... as he pretends to be... But I can be wrong... Just bare intuition here... (BTW, my son is half Chinese, and some cousins of him are of Vietnamese Chinese parents...)

I love to see these videos that are open, honest, and a little vulnerable. It reminds me that Master Shi Heng Yi is indeed human. Just living an inspired life.

All three adult men (father, teacher, detective) in his life, lived by a set of standars - honorable principals, integrity and morals. It takes a village to raise a child. They chose to 'Lift up' not 'break down'.

Well I have to correct and to complete my first comment: reduced SPACES, sends out his SOLDIERS, ...BOTH GAMES WERE PLAYED IN RATHER WILD WAYS... .. My parents were very strict but absolutely caring and cuddling on the other hand, great inperfect models for a child to become mature in or by time... and I am glad with almost all my teachers as well, and I have had and still have a great LIFE.. Thank You for this great Broadcast.. I can underline every sentence of the Master...

Your father was a wise man. He gave you a lifetime career, a hobby and excellent security -all in one package. And at the age of four. You were in good hands Master Shi.
This reminds me of my first (and last) time going thieving. I was four or maybe less. Neighbor's dog had many puppies. They were so many I couldn't even count them. And they were so cute. I thought about them all day. One of them had to be mine! I made very detailed plans all that day. How I was going to jump over the fence and how I was going to go there unseen etc. Next mornig I woke up in the dark, waited for it to lighten up a bit, and executed my grand plan. Everything went very smoothly. I was in the neighbor's garden, the dogs were all sleeping, everything was silent. I reached for one of the puppies... And then, the mother dog BARKED!! I don't know how how I ran back to the house and jumped into my bed. I hadn't calculated about the mother dog! I didn't know anything about mother dogs🤣 Well, that taught me a lot of things -->😇

I have been following Master Shi Heng Yi since his first Ted Talk. The wisdom and knowledge he extends to his audience is essential for everyone listening.
The last few weeks his videos have been helping me with a situation in my life which has been causing me much sadness. Or better said...that I have been allowing to make me sad.
I am grateful for all I am learning. "No pain. No gain." 🙏

That is the problem now a days. No discipline in our lives or respect for the parents. Kids seam not caring for their parents. It took over 15 years to build my home, and kids are too busy to even come once to see my accomplishments. It's like your usefulness is over. We seem to live in a throw-away society , even parents. So sad!

I think it's about time that people realize that, in America, women fought to work like men, which may have been fine for some, but not for women who treasure the influence they have over their children's behavior. Rampant consumerism and the laziness of convenience, are what make Americans think that these things take the place of guidance, personally teaching our children, and passing on practical wisdoms having to do with not only survival in the world, but also how to cooperate with each other, to learn the impact we have on one another, and the importance of cooperative living, of caring, and of being respectful... not just because it has been expected of you... but because you worked hard to earn it.

Great Story...at 12..13..14 its common for kids to test values and take risks..and even break laws..and a few get caught.......but what a smart detective....and good man...maybe he followed you for longer than you realized......and as an immigrant you live in a glass cage..either due to language barrier or cultural barrier...but that power of observation and also silence was a defense barrier of sorts.. made you who you are today.....

"'The wound is the place where the Light enters."
What if your blessings come through raindrops?
What if Your healing comes through tears?
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You're near?
And what if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise?

When I was at school in Germany about 65 years ago we used to play2 different games when we had enough or reduced sparen. Qne was called: the Kaesar sends out his sondieren for two teams of about 10 children, the other was called Knights's duels. Both were organized by the children themselves and tolerated by the teachers and never ever happened anything serious. It was as it were kind of martial art. Both were played between the age of 7 and the age of then 10 by mixed groups of boys and girls, and at higher ages by Group of boys only. But then both sexes attended their own separate schools.

    A more complicated question:
Does buddhism teach that reincarnation will happen only as one being/lifeform ? Is it possible a lifeform will be reincarnated as many lifeforms at the same time. Like 1 life will be 10 lifes next life ?
