I use the TimeFactor for a few reasons. It don't color my origin tone. Sounds great. And you can use the two delays with totally different settings in all different modes.
The Timeline is a fantastic pedal indeed but to my taste TOO prestige and clean. I like the warmth of the time factor a bit more, specially since I use tape delay as my main delay. I´ve had the time factor for 7 years now and it has worked incredibly for me. I´ve tried them both side by side in person and I still go for the time factor every time. I do love strymon products, on my board I also have an Ola chorus and the blue sky. I hope to trade these for a Mobius and a Big Sky.
The Eventide sounds better, rounder, fuller, more professional. The timeline sounds great too but its presentation is lacking compared to the Timefactor. It may have to do with the analog to digital converters which counter-intuitively improve the overall sound. I used Grado headphones for the listening test, so pretty in your face presentation.
Thanks for this. Reinforces my belief that the Strymon is the best pedal for me. Eventide is a bit "effect-y", whereas the Timeline sounds more natural and subtle.
I like the Eventide because not only does it sound natural, works well in the mix, but also doesn't mess with your guitars inherent tone. I think those factors are not only important for recording, but also for the overall listening experience. For me the latter is my ultimate goal; to enjoy what I am creating. I have owned mine for almost 10 years with no regret. They are both good; trust your ears, choose accordingly and then enjoy.
well how good are those if you wanna play ambient or some spaced sounds i think its a little differcult too choose between those 2 pedals who s number 1 and number 2 in your opinion?? im going too buy one of those and need you opinion what too choose all inputs are great thx
I've got both of these pedals sort of. I have the Eventide H9. Both have quality delay algorithms. I end up using the Eventide 80 percent of the time but the Timeline is a great box and seems to do ambient delays a little better than the eventide. For most of my purposes the Eventide sounds superior. I find that the timeline sounds a little thin which is good for somethings and not for others.
Help!! I hooked up my eventide timefactor and space stereo but when they are bypassed, I only get the dry signal on the left amp (output 1). How do I get the dry signal on both amps, as I'm getting the wet signal?
Strymon is good , but the Eventide is amazing.
Eventide is more spacy and a realistic Great sounding delay...strymon is beautiful but my thumb goes up for the Timefactor.... Great review ShNobel

They both sound... Not that good. At least to me. Maybe the eventide would sound better in the mix but I don't know.
Pretty close on this video, but I think I prefer the Eventide.
Clear win for Eventide imo
If you want U2 delays, buy Eventide. Buy Strymon if you want ambient reverb delays.
Eventide for the win.

Thx for this video, I go for Eventide H9.. Awesome! Keep rocking and keep demo-ing \m/

Obviously gotta have both on the board.

I have a Strat and struggle to get my Prince of Tone to cut in a set. What settings do you use?
Do you use the top boost side of the box for all of your videos?

Both sound fabulous! And nice playing dude. Beautiful guitar/amp tone too! (y) Btw it
