A good tip I really like to use is body flow with the basketball. Basically think your body as a hose going straight up and the end of the hose pointing at a target. You wanna keep the ball going up, basically what I'm trying to say is that the ball is like going up following your body like it would go through you and your fingers push the ball once the ball goes through your body. Not really through your body but just tracing it up
Sean, can you cover elbow snap during shooting. I think elbow snap is essential for soft hand release. Also, elbow snap creates more force to shoot long distance shots, compared to wrist snap. I think, Steph does elbow snap along with force from shoulder to shoot half courts and beyond, like a boxer.
great stuff. just no confidence and strength training and weight ball help these great shooters become great shooters. just no the ball should never be heavy when u shooting it.
This is a great video. I like how even though you don’t speak English you still try and are improving your English. And I like how you credit your sources. Well made video. Good job 👍
I visited your website today, read like 3 articles so far, and it's so good that I think anybody who wants to shoot a basketball better should definitely take a look at your stuff. You're really breaking down the form into a science. Thank you!
Hey, when you talk about the "excessive backward problem" around 7:45, I just wanted to let you, know that the clip of the guy shooting makes it look like he's leaning back, but in reality, his lower body is moving forward. If you look closely, his upper body does not actually move backward. This is a natural occurrence as shooting a jumpshot, in which you release in midair, is very demanding on the body and your lower body will naturally sweep forward for some extra power to make the shot easier. I used to think I had this problem as well until I realized it was just an illusion. Great video though!
He never said anything about that that's called a sweep and sway and its completely fine but what he meant is hos he bends his back too much watch it again
Scientifically speaking the higher the arc the higher percentage of the shot going in, so the sway or the “backwards shooting” help release tension from shoulders and gives u a higher arc, best shooters nba are doing it
But it is bound to reduce your control over the ball (but ofc subjected to where your palm is on the ball before release). The point he was trying to put forward is that there is loss of momentum you can transfer to the ball if you sway. You can avoid this and achieve the same arc with minor adjustments.
For some reason i either shoot my ball really week and idk why, it’s like sometimes the ball slips from my hand too early, other times i only throw it with the wrist, so most of the time when shooting from a 3 pointer it doesn’t even reach the hoop, but when it does, it goes to the side :P
Lord 2wice that was a lame ass comeback tbh💀💀💀💀. If anything my nigga you got a stuck up username and some weird ass pfp😂😂😂😂. Newborn my ass, you a keyboard warrior? 💀😂💀✊💀
charrock ! Sweep and sway from 3. I used to say the sweep and sway was dumb but i changed my shot so its really smooth and the ball doesnt stop like curry and i just started to sweep and sway. I can now shoot from far beyond but if your shooting super far i suggest turning
I think it's better to work on quick release once you master your form. Since there will be defenders pressuring you in game, you don't have all the time in the world to do a slow release.
For all the people saying his English sucks and making fun of him. Go try speak Chinese and see if anyone will make fun of you or say u suck at Chinese. No one will, because we all know how hard it is to learn another language. Unlike u people, making fun of them while they try their best giving u knowledge in ur language.
great job! You informed other people of science in English. Native speakers should speak english like you do. It makes more sense! hahhahahaha, keep going!
Brain: I learnt it!
Hand: No you didn't.
that's actually my whole basketball career
This is so accurate it hurts
I try this skill its super effective

the higher arch only helps as u r close to basket, past halfcourt ur arc dsnt matter much
Dude this reason why i like play b ball everyone look that artwork right there
Pls do a video on all fingers release the ball in same line
just focus in your pull up that's the key to shoot perfect form and perfect jumpshoot ..
I love you dude, NO HOMO. I learned better from you
super informative

Start shooting at really short distances without jumping or bending legs just purely focus on shooting mechanics
One of the best ever it helped .me

It took me almost 1 year to perfect my free throw and I did but now it is to shoot from threes
charrock ! Sweep and sway from 3. I used to say the sweep and sway was dumb but i changed my shot so its really smooth and the ball doesnt stop like curry and i just started to sweep and sway. I can now shoot from far beyond but if your shooting super far i suggest turning
