Since suffering some tragedies in the last 4 years I've come to believe I'll never be happy again. Think I'll make it this year's resolution to get a little selfish, maybe take a vacation or something.
The only tragedy that is impossible to recover from is the death of a child, and even that loss lifts in intensity, given time. Deaths of parents, friends...awful, but we can cope. Betrayal...awful, but we do better next time..hope life improves, lovely. Time is a great healer, but after a grieving period, you must find other things in life or you will remain in a dark place.
@@applesandpears9756 my JW mom is 80, in good health, but I'm not. I've been going to doctors because of a variety of problems and I really hope I don't die before she does. I mean, when she dies I'll pretty much be over with but I know how much it would pain her if I went first.

Love her as your mother and do right by her, but accept that she will put her religion first and feel justified in doing so. I feel your pain. Been there. Live your life to the full. The text refers to inhospitality and other factors but homosexuality is never mentioned. The act described of the crowd is one of rape or violence or treating a stranger bad. No mention of condemnation due to the angels being the same sex as the crowd.
