Some neat images in that batch Stephen, I really enjoy the atmospheric conditions and the special light that creates. And you on the nail, IBS is a powerful tool in the cameras these days and very useful for spontaneity in the creative process.

Amazing work. Great compositions and tones. Your videos convinced me to buy the Fuji GFX 50S II camera. I too am a film photographer, especially enjoying large format, but the cost and complications of working with color negative film in 4x5 size has led to me mainly shooting in bnw. I don't mind it, but sometimes I wish to capture colorful scenes more effortlessly. These photos really show off the amazing dynamic range and tonal transitions of digital medium format. I didn't know it was this good.

I’m on 6 months with my 50Sii and wondering about whether or not I stay with it or move to 100S or 100Sii? For now I’ll stay put. Are you shooting in 1:1 A/R? I got the Medium to shoot in 65:24 and love images. Yes B&W is a great look for the 50Sii. Thanks for your work! Cheers!

Another great video, but please go back to where you show the RAW file then edited. Also go back to showing the photo settings for each image. Us photo-nerds like it!
A lovely set of images. That light and colour, beautiful. And pleased to see someone, finally, using (even) the GFX handheld. What’s the point of all that technology (IBIS) only to ignore it? There are too many YT photographers who seem pedantically stuck with using a tripod, even below medium format, and so miss shots viewers can see emerging and tend to produce too many similar, static photographs. As, for instance those low angle shots of the trees and the overhead view of the tree in the fog… stunning.

I'm interested in buying the GFX50SII and was wondering how it shoots in 65x24 aspect ratio, as I want to buy it for panoramic photography predominantly. Ideally I'd just buy the XPAN but considering the price and the chance the electrics could fail at any moment, I feel the cost isn't worth it anymore. I hope you can help with my question as im new to photography and feel abit stupid with my lack of knowledge.
Beautiful photographs of the individual trees. !! I would have shot a pano of the valley in front of you. But then it is best to use a tripod :)) I would like to see to individuale trees in Black and White.
Hi Stephen, hoping you can point me in the right direction. I have just purchased the 50S Mkii. Shooting in manual mode, setting aperture and iso and shutter speed for example 60 seconds. When taking the shot im not getting a countdown timer on rear screen, eg 60, 59, 58 etc. Do you know if this is an option on the 50S mkii and if yes how to activate it, many thanks Nigel
Hey. I have noticed when my eye is at the viewfinder and I press the shutter button, the display screen is blank and the countdown timer can be seen in the viewfinder
Thank you 🙏 I’ve been using medium format film cameras for the last three years and focus stacking with them is not possible. Medium format cameras are used differently to 35mm and smaller sensors because of the shallower depth of field characteristics of the sensors and the lenses. I use the hyperfocal focusing method and I use it to make sure my main subjects of interest are sharp. I don’t use focus stacking.
Hi Stephen, Good day. Just want to inquire. When shooting with the GFX what would be the optimal aperture for landscape? I shoot full frame and I always find my self using f11 to f16 to ensure everything in the frame is in focus (combined with huyperfocal). Is it the same with medium format?
Hey, It depends on your camera height, the distance to the closest object you want to be in focus and your lens. Generally, I use F8 or F11 for my 30mm lens.
