    I own a 124 that I've used and abused since 1988 with wood scales. It's also great.

    The 119 and my Schrade SCHF15 are my constant carries whether I'm scouting or hunting or even walking my Dog looking for Sheds.

      @@KnivesSurvival I'm up in the Northeast. Ive been shed hunting for the past month. Got a set this year for the first time. Beautiful 8 point. I've got an old Granite Quarry mountain behind me that's got a good population of Black bear an their out now quite a bit. So I've been keeping my EDC close lately. Good hunting.

    I've had my 119 since the early 80's. Also marked as being made between 1972 and 1986. As far as a hunting knife, its a bit big. For skinning I use a much smaller knife, like the 110. Much more control, plus a small enough lade to work inside the carcass cleaning out the guts. But I still like my 119, I think they where made better back in the day. Steel wise.

    • @KnivesSurvival
      @KnivesSurvival  2 года назад

      Thats exactly what I use. 110

    • @smithn.wesson495
      @smithn.wesson495 8 месяцев назад

      The steel back in the 70's and 80's was 440C and 425M. Yes, the old 119's did have a harder steel and higher strength rating than the current 420HC steel blades, so technically you are right about them being better back in the day. However, the 119 Pro has the SV35N has a premium-grade blade that is exceptional for it's strength and keeping a razor sharp edge, but is harder to sharpen. The only con of the 119 Pro with the SV35N blade is the very high price, which is currently $200. $200 is a damn expensive knife. Just like most things, you can still get really good quality, if you are willing to pay a lot of money for it.

    What is the better all around Buck 119? Also does Buck make a better hunting knife then the 119? Awesome video thanks for sharing. Thumbs up to this video.

      Buck classic fixed blade 100 series knives are all geared around hunting. Any of them are great. I personally love the 110 for the sharpness of the clip point.. 119 is awesome as well

    Buck 19 blade steel is 420 hc. its not 440a or 440c steel which is a harder steel. I own a buck 19 and i will keep it cause i lost the receipt.

    • @KnivesSurvival
      @KnivesSurvival  2 года назад +6

      You need to listen to the vid. The new ones are 420hc. The older ones from 82-92 are 425m and the pre 82 are 440c.

      @@holloweyes5209 No it's really not. It's called a fuller and its litetally always been to reduce weight from a blade. Its been tested and makes literally 0 difference.
      The whole "blood groove" thing is nothing but tacticool mall ninja bullshit peddled to sell things to people who know nothing about knives.

    • @marshallmaia8130

      @@brandon_crow1291 also makes the shape stronger. Without the fuller imagine the spine of the blade like a pillar. With the fuller it’s as if there’s 2 pillars on the spine.

    • @richardfiedler2201
      @richardfiedler2201 2 года назад +3

      You all are wrong it is a blood groove. It's for when you're cutting through thick meat it develops an air pocket and the blade will not stick to the meat. If you people actually got out and used a knife you would know this. Instead of sitting around watching videos all day.
