    As a self-employed gardener, I don't use handtools that much, but bought my first Milwaukee M12 tool last year, and it has been excellent. It was the M12 Hatchet, for pruning! Highly recommend it.

      I like the Sawzall pruning blades. They work great in the dirt and do get dull.

    Blessed be the barrel grip. Freak'n love mine! EDIT: Love that you tested the fit in different PACKOUT!

      Every tool needs a home for storage, as far as I’m concerned!🙌💯

    The barrel grip is the best. So far I love this jigsaw and am glad I waited for a Fuel model to come out. I almost went with the Ridgid barrel grip, glad I didn’t! Great review Mark!

      That's cool! I need to figure a place to store this in my tool corner. It's going to get a lot of use! I like the blade storage, so I don't have to scramble for my blades.

    You should see the 3D printed insert Jonah Pope Designs made for the jigsaw in the packout organizer. It's a really excellent design. He sells the files or some folks online sell the prints.
    Also, if you haven't got a 3D printer for the workshop yet, they're amazing. Great for printing packout accessories, shop vac adapters, small router patterns and jigs, etc.

      I've made some Packout feet on my sons 3D printer. Cool stuff is available out there!

    I actually wanted the m18 for the power and I already have more m18 batteries, but the m12 had a good deal so I went with that. Not disappointed!

      Nice, I was pleasantly surprised by the M12 size and power.

    Picked it up yesterday. They had some fresh price cuts at the depot. Almost missed them because they arent using the yellow stickers. But $129 is the now price. They've cut prices on many m12 & m18 tools

      You can’t beat that price for a high quality tool like this!

    I currently own the Festool D handle it’s the best of both worlds you can use the variable speed trigger or the on/off Switch on the barrel

      @MarkThomasBuilder  7 месяцев назад

      I don't own any Festool items yet. I'll have to check your jigsaw out. Thanks!

    I dunno Mark, thats a nice jigsaw and all but... D Handle for life!!!
    In all seriousness, I typically prefer a trigger to a slide switch. You can always hit the trigger lock for tricky cuts like when using the tool upside down. Nonetheless, Milwaukee always seems to pack more power into a 12V platform than anyone else - no exception here!

      Good point! I’d like to test out a trigger switch on a barrel grip jigsaw, just for kicks.
      The switch location on the M12 is much better than on the M18, fyi.

      I own the D handle so that ends this debate. Seriously, the new 12v barrel grip looks like a great option. Great review, if I was buying today, I’d probably get the new 12v barrel grip… blessed be.

    Did you mention what MAH battery you were using ? I like this JS

    • @MarkThomasBuilder
      @MarkThomasBuilder  5 месяцев назад

      I believe I was using the CP 3Ah battery and it had some nice power to it. The kit comes with the 4.

    D handle for sure easier to see cut line with the body position it lends itself to. That said if it works for yah it works for yah.

      Yes, it's been some exciting hockey! I'm watching the Edmonton game right now.

    Is the m12 a new version? I read some older forums stating to skip the m12 version of the jigsaw

    • @MarkThomasBuilder
      @MarkThomasBuilder  4 месяца назад +1

      There's some older versions of the M18 jigsaw, but not theM12. It was originally introduced at the 2023 Pipeline event, but hit the market last October.

    Im D handle 💯 i don't like lock on grinders or jigsaws and prefer a trigger on a D handle

      I understand. I grew up with a Rockwell and Craftsman D handle jigsaw.

    Mark I’ve never tried a barrel grip (always d handle) but I’m very curious. Do you prefer the barrel grip over the d handle? If so, how come?

    • @burningtree878
      @burningtree878 7 месяцев назад

      Oh, just now saw your answer about this on the video. Do you feel you have more control with the barrel grip?

    • @MarkThomasBuilder
      @MarkThomasBuilder  7 месяцев назад +1

      I like the D-handle M18 over the barrel grip M18, mostly because of the trigger setup and the barrel size. On the M12, it's just more compact and the weight is ideal. I also like going upside down if needed.

      It's probably a good idea to keep a few M12's on hand when using the jigsaw if you mostly have the 2Ah size.
