Whoopi says, ‘It's a really great job and a great seat for us.’ Behar reflects on how the series has evolved since its debut in 1997. Following Meghan McCain’s exit, the comedian also offers some words of wisdom for the person who permanently replaces the conservative seat on the panel.

It would be nice if they had a rotating guest for specific topics even if they the have to remote/zoom them in. For example, when the crazies were targeting Asian ppl and the after math of the discussions, I found that a lot of reporting lacked a certain depth of understanding to the topic coverage or the conversation to it. It would have been like having a discussion about BLM with only Joy, Meghan, & Abby at the table. It doesn't work. They might have an options about it but they wouldn't have had deeper cultural insights or contributed to the conversation like Whoopi or Sunny would have.

I love that Joy said they don’t want to get personal with each other, that was one of Meghan’s biggest flaws she didn’t know how to debate without making it personal, I’m so glad she’s gone
I agree that was Meghan's biggest flaw, but I don't agree with being happy she is gone. She was actually a wonderful addition. She was passionate about her positions, and I liked that. People seem to not understand it takes a lot of guts to say things unpopular in a room full of people who believe the direct opposite of you. I don't mean just the hosts but the entire audience which swings left.
@@MrMalcolm900 Meghan was rude and unprofessional. She made the show so uncomfortable to watch. I never had a problem with her opinions. Even though I didn’t agree with them the majority of the time, I can respect any woman who is strong in their convictions and stands up for what they believe in. It was her delivery and attitude that was the problem. She behaved like a bratty, immature child. She was rude to guests, she refused to interview certain people, she threw temper tantrums and she talked about herself way too much. It’s honestly a shame bc she had potential to be an amazing host and addition to the show but she didn’t know how to separate her emotions about things from her professional opinions and not make things personal.

Because they are friends, and if they mention Meghan then they are making it personal, it would come off as a attack. They are being professional, i don't think they are intentionally trying to delete Meghan from the History of the show. Let's face it, Meghan was pretty much the show, she is the one most of the Views fanbase loved to hate. I would even argue that Meghan was one of the biggest reason's why they got so popular.

I'm all for opposing viewpoints. Meghan's issue was that she took everything personally and went on the attack. I'd love to see a younger co-host to offset Joy and Whoopi's ages, but that shouldn't be the primary factor. I'd love if Ana would stick around full time, but they may want someone that excites middle-America more. Either way, if they can't have a passionate debate on a topic without respecting the other's opinions then I'm not interested in them. I don't want a Meghan 2.0 or even a Hasselback 2.0.

This feels cleaner, brighter, lighter, calmer, more peaceful and overall saner. There were a lot of subliminal messages thrown directly at Meghan but I’m glad it was addressed because as an audience it was a relief for us.

Meghain was so hardcore. Sometimes her temper was too intense for the show. I watched this and breathed a sigh of relief. I thought she added a conservative voice that was necessary. However, watching this I realise how much tension she brought to the show and how unnecessary it was. I thought she was just passionate but now I realise she was just abrasive and at times very unreasonable.
So right! I don't mind a republican's conservative viewpoint. We need to see all sides, but MM brought such bitterness and toxicity to the group. Very entitled behavior.

A debate is healthy when it's trying to explore different ways of seeing something, not, as Meghan McCain would do, trying to justify why COVID-19 should be called "the China virus" or why calling Mexicans "rapists" is an effective political strategy. A racist view is not needed at the table.
Meghan McCain really didn't understand this job, that's why she was always disrespectful towards any individual sitting at the table - she very quickly realized how she was way in over her head. From the very beginning, she talked about her father and how he eventually succeeded in convincing Whoopi to hire her. She knew that it's because of nepotism that she landed this job - she had no merit, no reason - to be among such powerful women who were extremely skilled. The View was able to make her realize that being the daughter of a political figure doesn't automatically make you know about politics. She was never curious to understand certain things, that for me was a shocker. If she didn't understand or was challenged, instead of listening, she'd pull out the "I'm the only conservative in MSM" lie to veil her ignorance and stupidity. Like me, Meghan is a millenial, we are in that group where we transitioned from very old school to 'everything must be digitized all of a sudden'. We have many questions we need answered. Meghan isn't political. She was always surprised when Republicans did anything undemocratic, like biyatch, Joy has BEEEEEN telling you from waaaay back what this party has become. Have you noticed that she's the only one who calls herself a 'political analyst'? Exactly.

Life is too hard these days with climate change, wildfires, hurricanes, floods, a pandemic, mask mandates, etc. We don't need a rude, disrespectful person on the panel. Whenever people compare Joy's unfiltered moments with Meghan's, they are NOT the same.
Joy unfiltered moments are authentic - her own opinion and not just some talking points. She stands by her position when she feels its right and has the humility to recognise she doesn't know about something when she doesn't.

I not a Meghan fan by any means but I appreciated her viewpoint from the political "conservative side." I just wish she was less combative bc it just got to a point where it was like watching a screaming child at the check out line bc she haven't eaten yet. My biggest problem was that she wasn't able to entertain a thought without accepting it and she pretty much shuts the door on other ppl's viewpoint which is pretty much what the show is about.

I miss Jed. She was great in her disagreement and sharing her point of view. I'd for the most part disagree with her, but more often than not, she'd say something that honestly, made me see a different point of view and sometimes change my view. Jed was perfect.
Jed was by far my favorite of the conservative voices. She never made anything personal and she was fantastic.

A decade ago, I had seen her on different shows, and thought that she was quite a "firecracker"--someone who would or COULD make a name for herself. Well . . . she HAS, and NOT in a good way! Her "in your face", belligerent style shows absolutely NO decorum, NO respect for others; yet always, ALWAYS reminded everyone that they "PAY her for CONSERVATIVE views, and would storm off the set in a huff, or wouldn't appear due to subject matter, etc. IF, you have a panel with different points of view, let the viewing audience of ADULT, professional women discuss an issue! The return of The View was like a breath of fresh air with only 4 of them at the table. Have Ana on as much as possible so that the "right' is represented and in between, have guests on who represent the middle or the right. It was lovely to have them back at the table....all looking fabulous even though a few have packed on some pounds during Covid.....but then haven't we all??

Whoopi and the other women were low key shading Meghan, and rightfully so “we’re adults and know how to behave at a table”. We had enough of Meghan by the end of her first season. It was exhausting and toxic. “By the way X is one of my very best friends” and “my father…” and “I’m bringing the blue collar view to the table”. I’m so glad to see the View hosts back in the studio and live audience. The air seems cleaner now that Meghan is no longer there. They don’t really need a fifth person to co-host the show. I like them having a gues co-host though. Welcome back cast of the View.

You can just see how much more relaxed they all are now that Meghan has left the building....as someone else below mentioned, Joy said they don't like to get personal with each other. Meghan always got so angry and always made everything about her and her opinion....I love the new look of the show and look forward to all the guest hosts....my only wish is that Anna Navarro could be a permanent host as well, love her.
Don't worry- their tempers will be flaring as soon as that new conservative takes a seat at the table.

So glad the “princess of Arizona” is gone. Her mother should have been in that chair to begin with. Over the last few years, I found myself muting Meghan’s mouth more often than not. I sympathized with Whoopi every time she had to go to commercial since Princess took it as a personal insult every time. Sure hope they never have her back as a guest host.
