This video is the most thorough out there, no fuss, no frills, just honest clear, concise and complete information! I also appreciate your clear enunciation and pronunciation while speaking. Very easy to follow and understand for those whose native language is not necessarily English
This video helped me choose my next car - just put a hold deposit on a 2022 XC40 and I can't wait for it to get here in a few months! Thank you so much for an excellent and informative video!
Hello from Sweden (not far from the HQ of Volvo Cars in Gothenburg). I will get my brand new Volvo XC40 delivered tomorrow. This video is an excellent way of showing all the basic functions and the more advanced features of a car. I will recommend this video to my Volvo car dealership. Two thumbs up from the homeland of Volvo 👍
This was incredibly helpful, thank you for uploading it! Just picked up a 2021 and didn’t get a walk through of the features. Feeling much more confident about it now!
Thank you SO much for the walk through. Im going to end up spec-ing out an xc40 and this was the most perfect walkthrough of the entire car. Definitely ended up learning about the car just that little bit more.
Incredibly done! Very lucid and paced perfectly! Just received my car last week and had a brief walkthrough because a COVID. This video makes me a ton more aware and comfortable
Best video ever. It has everything everyone needs to know about a car. Please do the same with the XC40 r design t5. Again thanks, and continue making these videos. You should also explain all the process from choosing to the car until you have it home.
This is a great video! Very thorough in showing the features of the car and also how to use it. My wife currently has a 2016 Volvo XC90 T6 Momentum with the Momentum Plus, Climate, and Vision packages as well. I'm looking at potentially getting myself a XC90 as well as I'm not really much of a "SUV" guy, but after having driven my wife's new-to-us XC90 (she previously had the 2008 Volvo XC90), we now "fight" to see who gets to drive the Volvo. :) Thank you. And yes, the Pilot Assist (1.0) is great, even if it was limited to only upto 50 km (31 mph) as I've used it on a few occasions when driving through heavy city traffic. Fantastic video, Aaron. You guys should do more of these.
I just picked up my R Design yesterday and your video helped! I appreciate the detail that wasn’t reviewed at the dealership. I’m sure I’ll refer to it in the future.
Wouldn‘t it make more sense if the gear shifters logic would be the other way around? 2x forward for drive und 2x back for reverse? Am I missing something here
Hi Pascal, thank you for your comment. That raises a good point for sure! I'm thinking the logic was to try and mirror a standard automatic gate where you would pull backwards to go from P-R-N-D. Thanks!
This was fantastic!! Nicely done. Very appreciative. I'm in the queue for an xc40 recharge (hopefully coming late Fall) and would love to see that video! Many thanks.
Really thorough - thank you! Please also do this type of video for the 2022 XC40 T5 Momentum. One suggestion: Please discuss the Auto Start/Stop function. You skipped over that in this current video, but otherwise, WELL DONE! :-)
Very useful, I have the Inscription pro (UK), picked up a couple of things from your video , if you ever do a part 2 a bit on individual driver settings would be good and the way the keys are linked to each driver. Great idea wish my dealer had done this.
Great video! Thanks for taking the time to show us everything. This will be helpful when I go test drive the car and make a purchase. @volvo should use this video.
Thanks, this is very useful for prospective buyers. I have a question: do you have to manually enable auto high beam and auto wipers every time you start the vehicle? Thanks.
According to the owners manual auto high beam has a memory function, so no need to activate it every time. Auto wipers can be activated permanently in the settings menue on the center display. At least for the European market (I'm from Austria). First hand experience hopefully in two to three weeks, when my XC40 T5 twin engine will be delivered... ;-)
Hi Luke - there is a setting to enable auto wipers in the MyCar menu. Auto High Beam will need to be activated each time you would like to utilize the feature.
@@cosettapessa6417 Great! 😁It's fun to drive, nearly unlimited power (a few days after I got my car I overtook a agriculture vehicle going about 40 km/h. I ended up going 130 km/h within few seconds with the legal speed limit at 100... 😉). Badly I can't charge the car where I live (arpartment without a dedicated parking lot) and have to walk 12 minutes twice to a public charger, but I manage to drive most of the city rides pure electric. The mileage on the (quiet!) gas engine without electric drive (empty battery or battery on hold) is about 5,0 l/100km (47 mpg). Would I buy the car again? Definitly yes! 😁Or the pure electric version (which was still not available back when I ordered mine)...
I am a windsurfer and fell in love with this car but was wondering how I would deal with the key situation. Now I know, they've thought of everything. Was looking for an excuse not to buy this car cause it's expensive but now I'm stumped...
@@aaronflanagan7105 Nah, I’ll just wait a little longer and save up for a new one. I’ll lose my sleep every time I park outside but you can’t have it all I guess. Fantastic video btw, you’re a good professional.
@@rounick28 thank you! Really appreciate the view. I'm planning on incorporating the rest of the Volvo line here in 2021 in other videos. We just got our Recharge fully electric XC40 that I want to do a video on so stay tuned!
At least in the us there is no hybrid version of the xc40, so the answer to your question would be no, but they are planning to release the xc40 recharge which is a completely electric vehicle
Sorry I missed this earlier but saw it and wanted to answer. This particular XC40 is ICE (internal combustion engine) so it won't have any all-electric capability. There are plans for a hybrid version of the XC40 in the next couple of years however. Right now the details are pretty scant for us in the United States. The XC40 Recharge is coming to the US in the first quarter of 2021 as Volvo's 1st BEV (battery electric vehicle). That car will have a full 400 HP & 486 lb-ft with as much as 208 miles total range. The PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric) version is slated to follow later on...maybe as far as 2022-2024. If it is anything like our current T8 power trains, it should offer drivers around 20-25 mi of pure electric range. Thanks for watching!
At least in the US, 91 or higher is rec for the T5 petrol engine. I would assume if you have the petrol version in AUS that it would be the same. Always refer back to your owners manual if unsure. Thanks!
Florida here -- just picked up my XC40 R-Design -- Very thorough here. I had a couple questions you answered them. My dealer -- though good -- since I had an XC60 before -- thought I'd know most of this -- I learned one thing I never knew even with that -- which was like an OMG moment. And on this one the DRIVE MODE.. I even asked.. they said -- it's all controlled in the SENSUS system. And I was NOT looking for the drive mode button right there next to the radio buttons. Yeh, the INDIVIDUAL DRIVE is in the SENSUS. Maybe they were confused by my question. And I didn't even see the drive mode button.. til you pointed it out. AH HA moment. Embarrassed to know it's RIGHT THERE in front of my face.(almost) -- glad I found this!
You remote start via the On Call app up to a distance of 300KM. The app also allows you to lock and unlock the doors & tailgate, send navigation destinations to the Sensus screen, schedule service and request road side assistance.
@@aaronflanagan7105 oh one more thing, how do I know if my car has the cross-traffic alert breaking? Mine has cross-traffic alert but you said something about cross-traffic alert with auto break is there a difference?
They are cars for different purposes. The Rdes has 10% stiffer suspension for a sportier ride and handling. The Inscription will err more on the side of luxury and ride a touch softer. Inscription models also have more chrome and real wood trim in the cabin. When it's all said and done, it comes down to how you like the asthetics, sporty or luxury? I think the Rdes seats w nubuck suede are more comfortable and I prefer the contrasting roof colors to the chrome on the Inscription. I would choose the Rdesign.
