  • Don't Buy the 2020 Volvo XC40 Without Watching This Review. This 2020 Volvo XC40 review will feature the first Volvo I have actually tried. I was truly impressed with the 2020 Volvo XC40, it makes for a great city car with great style that new Volvos are known for. This particular Volvo XC40 is the top of the line T5 inscription model with AWD. If you have found value with this XC40 review, please like and share this video if you can and leave your thoughts down in the comment section below. Thank you.

    Thanks for saying you would prefer 18” wheels. I have a fully loaded Inscription ordered but stayed with 18” wheels and have stressed about that decision since I left the dealer. I even called the next day to change to 19in and was advise to stay with 18in. I live in a city with many potholes and rough roads. Makes me feel better about the choice. Delivery in the next couple weeks, ordered Dec 02, 2019, Denim Blue with Amber.

    I just bought a used Volvo Selekt XC40 D4 AWD R-Design 2018 two days ago. Have read a ton of reviews and watched a bunch of videos before I decided on purchasing and I sadly missed this review of yours. However, having the XC40 for couple of days makes me competent of comparing the 2018 and 2020 edition and it is nice to see that all the good things from 2018 are still there while the new features are not something that will make me regret purchasing the 2018 version or make me sell this and switch to 2020 :)
    Love your comment on rims and wheels. Mine had 20” alloys in the dealership, but I switched them for 19” with both summer and winter sets of tyres. The car feels softer yet still not too soft to miss the excitement of driving the curvy roads. I do also like to drive in ECO mode around the city because gears shift more in ways I would usually shift them manually.
    Lovely car to drive and especially to enjoy being in the cabin. And yes, Harman Kardon sounds great!

I packed ALL MY STUFF for a month on the road and my 100 pound dog AND my cat and who could believe how much I got into vehicle?! The hidden cargo space was great and I took full advantage of it. I enjoyed this review because unlike many car reviewers, you talked about what it is like just drive around town the way most people who would use the car would drive it. I like that you said sport is too aggressive. As long as it accelerates well enough to merge or pass big trucks on the highway, great. And people don't drive around corners like they're on a track. So, the relaxing part of the drive is key. Also, it feels refined and solid. Less expensive cars ride well and perform like it, but there is something different in how this vehicle feels and I think that you articulate that in your review.

    Test drive one. Loved the looks and the little touches. Ordered one July ‘20. One week later I find out all the little touches I like are removed. No twin exhausts, no embossing on leather, C-Pillar and tread plates, no paddle shifters on the R Design and more. Going to cancel my order.
    Usually a mid life update is an upgrade. Seems for Volvo and the XC40 on the MY21 version, it’s a downgrade.
    So it’s another X1 for me with the new Upgrades. 😐

    If car manufacturers I really intent on having next to no buttons in the cabin, they should put all them controls either in a heads up display or incorporate them into the driver’s active info display, which already uses steering wheel controls! You can ask the car to do it but some cars still have problems understanding regional dialects lol 😂

    I purchased the XC40 T5 inscription. I’m not a car guy but I was looking for a compact suv that can park itself since it’s difficult to parallel park in LA. One thing I’m finding difficult is refueling. It just stops refueling and I had to slowly refuel, again and again. Anyone have the same issue? I wonder whether you have to position the nozzle at a certain angle. It’s already all the way down.

      @@MeynMotorGroup I went for automatic petrol and less impressive engine and 2WD. I own a powerful S60 D5 diesel manual that chews the miles, but I am getting this XC40 through Motability for my wife. I had to go to a dealership two hours away from home to get the car and do not want to share names of the offending dealerships here. It seems the dealerships can be quite inconsistent in the pricing of extras and treatment of customers. Volvo need to sort out the dealerships: three of them were a disaster and I am not the only one complaining. One of them told me to go get a Peugeot when they tried to get me to pay 6k downpayment!!! another was so rude to us after making us drive 30 mile round trip to them. Just so you know I ended up getting it from in my personal experience a great Volvo dealership: Waylands in Oxford - I remembered them as once they had been so attentive to me 10 years ago with my S60. One must remember that Volvo already had a fantastic engine, the D5, decades ago an amazing engine tough as nails. Diesels had small problems after 13 years of use, here and there (clutches, hand break disk, sensor rubbing sending the engine into limp mode, inter-cooler hole on diesel models, clutter inside diesel engine due to the over-engineering on diesel engines required to meet emissions: you need to clean out the engine after 15 years to get back the rocket feel as new!) but overall the cars are far better than German cars (perhaps only Mercedes might match them). One can imagine that new cars today should be even better. I have an S60 now for 15 years that just keeps going and going! It has 165k miles but I met a guy with one that had 300k miles. Amazing.

    I test drove the 40 & 60 today and came home researching these. Love the review. I’m a 30 yr old and I just want a really smooth ride and Volvo has the best smoothest ride without a doubt. The “Lightness” and smooth feel made me wonder why I never checked out Volvo in the past. I too, didnt like that everything is touch screen. Besides that, great compact suv and the 60 is great too but I like the uniqueness personality of the 40’s interior. Interesting materials on dash and doors, unique gear shifter. Great navigation on the mph screen.

    • @ChristopherAllanmedium
      @ChristopherAllanmedium 3 года назад +1

      @@stocks4bt The 40 and 60 to me weren’t that big of a difference. The XC40 really doesn’t feel like a compact SuV like say a Mazda CX30. It feels big so going a step up to the XC60 wasn’t as noticeable in cabin size. If I had to choose, I would go with 40 and save some $. I wound up getting a Lincoln Corsair and a Mazda CX30 Turbo this past month in NY. My backup choices would have been an Alfa Romeo Stilvio and this Volvo XC40.
