Todd, I wish this would have came out sooner ! I was in the bunker 4 times yesterday and could have used all these tips, I can't wait to have bunker shots again and utilize your tips. My game has improved greatly since watching your channel for two months now, thank you so much for sharing ! Mark, 63 , Bay Area, Ca.
Great video! its great to have a positive plan for attacking these shots. I wish that you spoke a little more about the lofts and bounce that you need for each shot as I heard Tiger, Scottie and Collin each have different loft preferences for the same lies.
Hi Todd! Allan here new subscriber from San Diego, Ca. Came across this bunker video, you made it look so easy to get out of the bunker, hopefully this video will help me egress out of the bunker next time i’m in the sand trap. Thanks for all you do to help us weekend warrior improve our game.
Thanks Todd. I totally get keeping your weight forward but is there any additional weight shift to the left on the swing or once the weight is forward on set up is it then an arms/ chest swing? Thanks
@@garykirkner9799 once the weight is set forward, you want to keep it there. We cover this in detail in our new book which you can find here www.badliegolfbook.com
I'm in Perth Australia where some bunkers can be hardpan with high faces. With a low ball flight I would still have difficulty getting the ball over the high face. What are your thoughts to overcome that?
Most important thing in my limited experience and skill it to follow through, not quit on the shot. Senior golfer from Central Texas, back to the game after many year layoff.
I have a couple questions. First, when I swing how should my hips move? I can't figure out whether I use more shoulder + arms or more hips if that makes sense. After contact and at the after swing, my lead foot (left) my ankle tends to rotate like my back foot should leading to falling in different direction. That also relates to my next question which is on my swing, what angle should my back be at, I can never get the angle right, and then stand up in my swing (I find that my hips and glutes come almost over the ball and I can't figure out why) causing it to look like I'm bowling. Lots of questions, but I appreciate any help! Thank you!
Don’t knock public courses for not maintaining their traps, my private course Canyon Gate Country Club in Las Vegas is awful. Sometimes it doesn’t rain here for six months but the sprinklers rain down on the traps resulting in hard pan bunkers.
Sometimes with a terrible lie or a fairway bunker just getting out would be the objective. But if you are green side why wouldn’t you want to be close to the pin for an up and down? I tried his advice for the hard pan lie in the bunker at my club yesterday, and put four out of four within 10 feet. Two of them within 4 feet. Gives the video another listen and try to determine what type of shot is best for your condition. You assess the ball placement on every other shot you take, why not here. Best way to move from beginner to the next level. Really are a couple of great tips IMHO.

I've never considered closing the face in the bunker. I always open it. It looks like I have something new to practice. Thanks for the tip.

For the beginner; what if I just want to get out? None of this; ‘well… if this then that…’ What’s the best overall approach? Just get me out!
