I’ve been on a few typology discord and it’s never truly about typology they talk about but rather random stuff or things. They’re can be some petty drama related to typology but its really not taken seriously.
Same, every typology community seems to quickly devolve into a drama and gossip community. Also an unusually high percentage of people with mental health issues.
Something about the instant messaging format of Discord really doesn't lend well to more discussion focused interests like Socionics for me. I quite like settings like YT or FB groups/forums where an OP/creator makes a thread/video and people can have discussions in the comments. I can see the appeal for those wanting to socialize specifically with people also interested in the topic though but I imagine that also comes with its own pitfalls as pointed out in other comments here.
There are some Discords which have bots which you can ask for specific pieces of information. It was epic. There was one I encountered that also had graphics.
If you want to have fun or pretend that you are learning, you can join discord groups, but if you really want to learn, I don't think you guys should join. Because there is a noise in every head, and it's completely confusing. People in these groups can type a person as an LSI even though he is an IEE. So don't join unless you just want to have fun.
I used to moderate for a typology forum and it was fun and interesting for a while, but the biggest road block I seemed to run into often, either on the forum or on the related discord chat rooms is that people seemed to mold who they actually are, into the type stereotypes they identify as and that just got tiring quick. There definitely were some great people I came across and discussions had that delved much more into the nuance of type similarities/differences but sadly the noise and clutter outweighed the benefit.
Haven't watched the video yet but first thought. Yeah sure? Why not? Might find some cool people over there but must not solely rely on their word of mouth as testament to typology

It often depends on the server. That’s why I keep a private one.

I think for most of them, it's more of a meet and greet format with a few typology inside jokes

If done correctly yes and in this case i mean smaller server where things can be controlled better, public ones are not worth checking out imo.
