I enjoyed how you added a warm human light element to this composition. Also, how you guided the black into fine lines within the streaks of color in the sky.
I live in Fairbanks now, but when I lived in Juneau we saw the solid red sky one night. Kind of scared us, but we found out that it was a form of Northern Lights! The whole sky was solid red, with no lights moving!! I will never forget that. Have never seen it since. We do have some colorful displays, however Alaskans watch the lights, even if the show is boring. lol
thanks Coratison!! yes it's possible to see aurora lights in different colors in real life but you need to be really lucky :) most times they are green - haha i guess that's why it's my instinct color to go every time i paint them.
I am always inspired by aurora. And I love night sky a lot with full of stars. And also with aurora. I live in a city where it is not possible to see stars. And I also want to see aurora once in my life.
Thank you for sharing this. One of the most realistic Northern lights watercolor paintings I have seen yet .
Wow, brilliant painting. I am gonna try it.
One of the beautiful aurora paintings I have seen
