I've just ordered a set of these irons after a comprehensive fitting. These were the only irons I felt truly comfortable with and in complete control of during my swing (including the other Rogue ST's) and I'm a very high handicap golfer. I tried Mizuno, Ping, Taylor Made as well but none of them felt as good. The bonus on these, which I was not aware of, they are cheaper than the rest here in the UK.
I just got fitted for a set of these 2 weeks ago. 4-AW Project XLS stiff shaft, standard length. 2* upright. 8 handicap when I'm playing regularly. They felt like butter and were very forgiving. I gained 25yds on my 7 iron. Also tried Callaway Apex, Taylor made p790, Mizuno 225 pro, ping i525 (which came in at a close 2nd for me). These are the first irons I've ever gotten fitted for and can't wait until the weather breaks and I can get on the course.
We have the same shafts on these clubs as my personal set. It’s 1.5 degrees stronger per club than my 2019 t100s . I took it on the course (I hit a 7I 165-170) so I thought 🤔 I’ll hit this maybe 175 ish. I tee it up on a par three playing 178 . I almost flew the green (pin was middle of the green) I knew I’d hit them slightly further but I actually beleive you when you say you gain a bunch of yards. They are so easy to hit and solid. They sound great and even tho lower lofts than my clubs (with same exact shaft btw) I hit em much higher. Crazy.
But how is the rest of the bag? Did you gain yards? Lose ball flight (lower) what? I’d like to know as I’m thinking of switching
Turns out the launch monitor didn't mimic real life conditions but I still gained yardage. Went from 150-155 max on my 7 iron to 165. I haven't noticed quite as much gain in my PW, closer to 8-10 yds. My 4 iron went from 180 to 200 though. So I've gained more yardage in my longer irons than my PW-9 iron. But id still say 10yds gained in shorter irons. I already had 52* and 56* vokey wedges so I love that 48*AW included in the set. Perfectly gapped out my bag. My new 4 iron replaced a hybrid i was running, so it made room for my AW. I now run driver, 3 wood, 3 hybrid, 4 iron-AW rogue st pro irons, 52*, 56*. I absolutely love them. They're more compact than my old Taylor made RAC OS irons but they're not intimidating at all, and a headwind no longer kills me like it used to. Schwing!!!
Honestly, it just seems like a more penetrating ball flight and the peak height is still high. Seems like it works up to a higher apex instead of just going way into the air initially. I have no problem having these irons stop on a green, something one may be concerned with given the stronger lofts but I've had no issues whatsoever holding greens, even with 4 iron. The ball flight just seems very powerful, especially in my 4-6 irons. I wouldn't say that they generally launch low, they just get out there with a penetrating flight and then it hits that peak. Seems like the ball peaks later, then it just drops out of the sky. Even in my longer irons. I just can't say enough about the whole set.
@@brent2394 yea I have an issue hitting my 4 iron or 3 wood off the deck. So since I’ve played t100s/ap2 since 2010 I’m always worried about lower lofts/these new AI technology worries me as I’m not used to anything not forged. Thanks for the info. I am looking for some height/distance to keep up with some of these guys I play. (I’m the more accurate player) but if I could keep the accuracy and gain a few yards and they aren’t overly expensive for a set like some clubs these days. They are just sweep looking/solid. They feel amazing/sound great too. Enjoy them.
Just for the record, I used to hate this channel because I couldn’t hit the golf ball like you. But now since I’m a 10 handicap, I love the content and your corny jokes! Cheers mate!

As someone who has only played for a year and is still very inconsistent with iron striking, I used these at a fitting and they felt amazing. Stops on a dime too. Recommend everyone to try them
Just the comment I wanted, I’m kinda new but have a decent iron strike but I was told by a pro not to use them as they are for better players! I love the look of them
@@unshavengamer5542 Yeah I think Etches said it perfectly, the pro in the iron name is misleading. Yeah the handicap is for mid to low, but still everyone should give them a shot.
Haven’t played in two decade, my 30 year old irons decidedly aged, decided to try the rogues out, told them my handicap was 28-36, and at the last minute i accepted the pro to test. Omg what a club. Longer, faster, more consistent, and when i fed that back to the sales guy, he was trying to talk me out of it into a cheaper set more forgiving set of rogues i’d tried. The pro means professional he said, single digit handicaps he said. I said, fit me for it properly…. I’ve never felt a club be anything more than a dead weight to me in hindsight in comparison.
Same here. I put them up against the P790, Apex, Mizuno 225 pro, i525s and these came out on top. The 525s had similar distance but the ST pro's felt like butter compared to the rest. Long, very forgiving. Surprisingly forgiving actually. I hit a couple noticeably bad shots off toe and heel and was amazed on the result of those shots. They didn't really lose any distance and started to straighten out. I guess that's the AI facecup for you. Order placed. Went with the Project X LS shaft. 8 handicap. Can't wait until I get them in a few days!
I’ve just been fitted for these. been playing 6 months and tried all the game improvement irons, stealth, ping 425, Wilson etc and these smoked them all easily even for a high handicap newbie. I couldn’t hit them poorly … for me 😂 when the fitter brought them I thought they look too good for me but first hit and then the second and so on they were just perfect would highly highly recommended a look.
Just completed my full bag fitting (after watching this video a few weeks prior) expecting to come away with the Mizuno 225 or the P790, maybe the Apex, hadn’t even mentioned the Rogue St Pro as one on my short list. I bet you can guess which one was by far the best, and came back and re-watched the vid and can’t believe that everything you said about the club was spot on! Love the clubs and love the channel Al!
What made you choose the st pro over the mizuno 225? I am having a super hard time deciding which one to get. Pls help me sir
@@vadim6656 I went and got fitted at club champion, let them know that I was looking for an OEM/OEM available upgrade shaft. Got fitted into the x100 shaft, with project x 6.5 as a close second. For me, I had far more consistency in carry, dispersion L/R and my miss hits slightly fat were still playable. For all the others with my steep attack angle and over the top swing path it was miles better. And they are a such a great looking iron head at address it’s unreal

Loved that last stinger! what a nice shot. The looks? That's tough. From address, looks pretty beautiful. Loved the camera angle you had looking down at the face with no ball tee'd up, just the fake grass. Was amazing how the grass melted into the reflective parts of the face! But the back, and what you are gonna see as it rests in your bag.... IDK, maybe I'd invest in head covers for irons! LOL

These caught my eye when I first saw them. Callaway though have got this habit of sticking something ugly on the back of their irons like a nut or that black insert. Why couldn't they have made that black insert chrome like the back of the iron. Better bag appeal.

Agree. Black badge is the only thing they got wrong. If it was chrome then this would have been the best looking hollow iron on the market

I ordered a set. I was hitting this better than anything from mizuno Taylor made titleist, and Yonex. I’m coming from a 6 year old set of custom RSI-2’s so it’s a definite upgrade
In person, they look great. I hit them at a demo day on Saturday at the club where I work. Unfortunately, it was so cold that I was freezing my ass off

I like it ... I would have liked it BETTER if the black section on the back was a brushed chrome to accent the polished chrome ... but it's still a nice looking club!
just got these yesterday the project x 6.0 flighted 105s just fit me better than the mizuno dg120 offerings. i actually liked the miz heads better. with that said i shot 72 1st round after shooting 83 day before. no practice pulled the plastic off each club as i hit them on the course.

Good man Al. Had a set of X20 ‘tour’ back in the day. I think the only Iron I would get with Pro on it would be a Mizuno Pro 22 range
Love your videos AL. Could you once in awhile have a front view of you hitting. It’s incredible the amount of club head speed you generate.
I dig it so much I ordered a set, 6 iron through AW in the ST pro, 4 and 5 iron in the Max, with the UST Dart graphite shaft R Flex F3, and they hit like butter. I have issues with my right hand, these heads with the graphite shafts do not hurt me to hit! Only problem is waiting for them. Oh, did I mention forgiving, easy to hit and long?
Did you get fitted for them?
@@swisstrader Yes I did get fitted. I needed a combination of head, shaft, and grip that would allow me to play with some arthritis in my right hand. So it was an extensive fitting. With modern graphite shafts for irons, I recommend anyone getting fitted to try graphite shafts also. Actually, graphite shafts are, in many golfers, showing a tighter dispersion as was in my case. I was worried the ST pro would be tough to hit. But surprisingly these were easy to hit plus I like a more blade like appearance in my scoring Irons. I will say this the ST Max was so easy to hit also so I went 4 and 5 iron in those. On thin hits with the ST pro I was getting the distance of my old irons when hitting the old ones well. When the ST’s are struck well they go. Plus with the ST pro you can tell where you hit the shot low, toe, heal, etc. great feedback with the graphite shaft.

@@swisstrader Went to a local guy that has been fitting me for over 25 years. He knows me, my swing and how it has changed now that I am older. If you go hit be sure and try graphite shafts also. I have hit different irons over the years, but stuck with Mizuno for the last 15 years. Big change for me. I went in with my requirements and needs and was not brand specific, was open to what helped my issues, yet fit my eyes, and hit well. I initially thought about re-shafting my Mizuno’s but that would cost ½ or more of a new set.
@@billsinclair313 nice. I used to go to one guy only because he was that good. Problem was, he was mainly about Japanese clubs (Epon, Miura, Honma, etc) and very biased toward them.
On graphite shafts, I was sold on them many years ago when I had an elbow injury and had no other options. These days I use a crazy light iron shaft which works well for me.
These Look so good. As an all round iron I think it looks amazing! If i was in the market for new irons I’d be giving these a go!

So Al, I noticed that you have some 4 videos on the TM Stealth drivers but I haven’t found any on the Callaway Rogue ST drivers. Rogue = forgiving/game improvement. Pro = specialized clubs for people with exceptional skill to hit. Rogue Pro = misnamed excellent iron from Callaway. Pro looks for a game improvement club. Maybe thats it.
How do you like the stock shafts? 105 weight class but the swingweight spec comes in at D3? Did it feel like that?
It looks amazing to me. Looks like a JDM iron. Serious question how does it feel in comparison to Apex Pro? I like the fizzy and lively feel and sound on that one.

The ST PRO are a nice looking set of Irons, though personally, I wish that they weren't quite so shiny because now I want to call them "Bladey-Bladey, shiny cheap-cheap"🤣🤣

I have some old Callaway X2 hot "pro" and they are really easy to hit. That wording is weird. I just wanted something that wouldn't balloon up on me, and they do the job. I think the apex DCB from last year look a bit nicer, but in my opinion these aren't bad looking, but like you say they aren't amazing looking either. Kind of boring.

Callaway is a lot like Apple... very consistent, lots of technology, just improves on what they are great at.
Anyone have these irons if so can you tell me if the mid/long irons are easy to hit as the 7I I am a “low ball hitter” and on the shorter side for a “low” handicap. Really looking at switching to these irons.

Imo terrible feeling iron and the same problem with all hollow clubs I've tested so far no consistent distance control , flyer prone ...and the fitters know it they just delete the flyers ...

Remember everyone here, we rarely see the "bad" shots professional golfers hit and normally only watch the top 50 in the world on Sundays. Doesn't mean there are only 100-200 professional golfers in the world that the word "pro" should cater to. So please get off the high horse about these irons saying "pro" whilst trying to undermined the actual engineering that callaway put into these irons in the first place.

I struggle with the looks of Calloway clubs these days. I like everything about it until my eyes focus in on the black insert. The color, black, is one thing but this looks like a cheap piece of plastic stuck in the middle of a great looking club up until that point! Compare to Mizuno 221, 223, 225 and there is no comparison on which ones look better. Even the 223 looks better.

Callaway missed the mark IMO. It may feel bladey-bladey but with the Pro name and the blade feel, you cannot have a visible insert that makes in look non-bladey-bladey and like a mid game improvement iron. When you have the 790 or the Mizuno 225 that are players distance iron that look like a blade with hidden tech the ST Pro looks out of place. Most 15 handicap and lower players want an iron that looks and feels like a blade but also helps them without other people knowing. From 20' away the 790 and 225 look like blades while the ST Pro looks like a typical improvement iron. I dont see players within this target market choosing a club with a huge black insert over a club that looks like a full blade when in the bag.
They missed the mark on the looks as they could have easily hid that insert and the club does not look or deserve the name Pro.
The club is probably great, but they missed the mark completely.....twice!

I agree that I could definitely go without the black badge, but man they feel like Butter. I got fitted for these a couple weeks ago. Felt noticeably better than the i525s, P790 and Mizuno 225's. For me, the i525s came in 2nd, but given that these will most likely be the irons I'll be playing for the next 15 years, I had to stick with the clubs best for me, even if I thought the others looked better. I do agree with you about the badge though. It shouldn't be there, but man do they feel great, they're long, and very forgiving.
