Such an emotional production. The orchestra, the background singer, the main singer, everything is brilliant and moving.

Days of future past. The whole album is recorded with a live orchestra and is amazing.
It goes through every part of the day from Dawn to this Night.
There is really nothing like it

Late 60s classic...this tune is backed by the London symphonic orchestra. Damn! Missed the poem at the end!

The “violin” in the background, as well as the “choir” were created by a keyboard instrument called a Mellotron…The Moody Blues were experts at using it…

Stereo, my brother. Things were recorded with an emphasis on stereo back in the day. Things went left, right, back, right, back. I know u can prob here some with the way u wear ur headphones but on the ear will be much fuller and crazy. Just a 70s kid tryin to help ✌🏼❤

Hi my friend thank you for being you! try putting both head phones on while listening cuz lots of music was recorded differently back in the day. Actually better and richer but some sounds and tones alternate through the right and left. Just FYI. you might have a richer experience. Peace to you✌

You missed the poem at the end that was just about to start when the music that sounded like stars twinkling started. The poem its called Late Lament and it is really deep with very interesting words. Maybe this video ended right before it starts but other videos have the poem at the end. It is one of the best parts of the song.

Justin Hayward was 19 when he wrote this. He was ending one love affair and starting another. The AM radio stations didn’t want to play it cuz it was so long, but FM was just starting and they loved it. Besides, you could make love to it. He and the Moodies are my favorite musicians. The falsetto voice is John Lodge the bass guitar player. They were the contemporaries of the Beatles and Stones but escaped being noticed in public because their pictures weren’t all over their albums. Ray Thomas was the flautist but he sadly died a couple of years ago. The drummer Graeme Edge died nov 2021. In the studio version the final crescendo includes the tubular bells rack crashing to the floor. A cat ran through the studio and they all held their breath. They kept it in cuz it was like an orgasm. I’ll be on a Carribbean music cruise with Justin and bands he invited on 1/28/23, my 6th cruise with him. Search OnTheBlueCruise. The band stopped touring in 2018 but the two leads have solo careers. 🥰❤️🎸🎶🛳

In case no one has told you, this song is from 1967. Some of the best music is from the late 60's. The hippies, the sexual revolution, free love, the "Be-In" at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. A different time that nothing will ever compare to it and nothing like it will ever happen again.
