Javier Pena and Steve Murphy discuss the differences between the Medellin and Cali cartels in Colombia. The Cali cartel took over after Pablo Escobar was killed, and they operated in a more business-like manner, keeping a low profile while still growing and getting smarter. The two cartels had a lot of hatred for each other, with the Cali cartel trying to kill Escobar's family. The Cali cartel also financed a vigilante hit squad. The clip also touches on the similarities and differences between Escobar and El Chapo, with both using violence but Escobar being stronger and more powerful. The former officers discuss their own careers in law enforcement and their pursuit of high-level drug traffickers. They also mention their involvement in the hit Netflix series "Narcos" and how they helped train the actors to portray DEA agents accurately.

Bro I've actually known this guy for years, he married one of my close friends mom when I thinking I was either in 8th or 9th grade. He used to tell us crazy ass stories but he would never give us names or locations, he would slip with towns but we never really thought about it. And we knew he wasn't lying, although some stories we were just kinda bewildered and like "did that really happen though" couple years goes by and my friends tells me about some TV being made about his step dad. It's just crazy cause I already knew alot about pablo cause my dad was army and we had been stationed in Panama in 94. I just freaked out when I realized who pena was, it was just like bro those stories he told us were true. I don't understand though, cause he lived in San antonio during this time but it says he was in houstons field office from 2011 to retirement.

1.) They're known to kill people
2.) The ones in colombia have multiplied exponentially over the years.
3.) Despite officials trying to minimize them, the natives don't want to get rid of them.
By default, those hippos have become their national lovable pet despite the problems they're causing.
