Charlie, my 4 year old grandson and I just look at this video! (This is my second time) He said “Nana you have to make this like Mr. Charlie” lol 😂! I told him I will after Nana’s ice maker comes in. Then he slammed his fist on the counter like you! He said Nana, that must taste real good.😂. I told him that is your signature pound on the table. Makai wanted me to tell you “if you break that table, your momma going to get you”.😂 Can’t wait to get my maker so Makai and I can make my favorite butter pecan. I just love your channel because everything is made from scratch! Remind me growing up in my grandmother’s kitchen cooking. Making the homemade ice cream with my granddaddy’s wooden ice cream maker. We all took turn turning the handle. I can only remember seeing ice and salt and my grandmother putting in vanilla. Love you!💕. I will be donating to you as well! Can’t wait for that cookbook!

OMG Charlie; thank you for sharing your gift and love of food on this here RUclips. I am super excited to make not only your Butter Pecan Ice-cream; but so much more. I was raised by my maternal grandmother(Mississippi Delta Area), and was spoiled by her good home-cooking. Yet, I did not learn how to make everything she made before she passed in 2003, i.e. peach cobbler with a crisp, buttermilk cornbread or even hot-water cornbread and so much more. I am in the process of making one of my favorite ice creams' which is Butter Pecan, you are such an angel for sharing this. If you make the aforementioned recipes I'll be on the look out. I just recently started re enjoying this remembering it from my childhood to. I got the walmart and amazon brand and I gotta say it should be illegal how delicious this stuff is. Its currently my fav to. It just mops the floor with my other go to ones cookies and cream, neapolatin and cookie dough. It is dangerous cause its so addictive u cant stop eating it. I gotta plan extra gym time for this lol

Never cooked Oxtails but hopefully I can do something on them before this year is out! They are expensive!
Oxtail is probably the best meat ! I guess they don`t have a lot of cows in the swamp ???

I used to live in the Quarter back in the 70's ( long before you were a sparkly in your daddy's eyes ) and I loved the food and the culture. Your videos bring me back to Bourbon Street and the great foods I loved back then. And your New Orleans joie de vivre sparkles in your eyes. This was my first time ever making any kind of homemade ice cream and it turned out great. I used Swerve confectioners as a substitute for sugar. I made it again because my sister wanted to taste homemade ice cream and this time I used Lankanto Monkfruit confectioners as a sugar substitute so I had to cut the measurement in half because of the 2:1 ratio and again it turned out fantastic. My sister loved the ice cream so much (butter pecan has never been her favorite) she said it was the best ice cream she ever had and now she likes butter pecan ice cream. Her husband loved it too. The recipe turned out great each time for me because he is very detailed with his instructions
