I just tried to refresh within my Power BI Desktop, and it didn't prompt any error...

Wow. This is so incredibly stupid, the way Microsoft is handling this GA4 thing. That we need a community member to hack into it haha. Why didn't they just announced "ok it's coming last month". Thanks for finding out Ruth. You just killed two of my projects, but I'm happy :)

No idea, try removing the field from the query

@alejandraangel7468 I run into that issue myself now. Remove all the filters from the dataflow and filter in power bi instead
I was so excited to try this hack. While I got as far as setting up the dataflow in the web interface and refreshing, the data never refreshes, times out, and in addition when I go to the queries, I'm getting either the same error a user below mentioned with field dimensions not found or the error: error = [code = 429, message = "Exhausted property tokens for a project per hour. These quota tokens will return in under an hour. When I tried to refresh the data in desktop, I got the error that it ran out of memory. These GA4 datasets are huge - how do you account for memory and errors in loading data? Did your data actually refresh? The video ends with you refreshing the dataflow but we don't see what happens next. It would be great to see what you do with this GA4 data once it refreshes and how you build it into existing reports and/or create visuals with them. Thanks!
Probably you are exceeding the API quota. You need to di smaller requests or use a custom connector or 3rd party solution :(

Hi, not a Power BI user but trying to figure out how to get GA4 data into Power BI. In this video it looks like you started your workflow in a desktop app and finished in the web version. I use a Mac and from what I can see MS don't offer a desktop version for Mac users. Am I missing something obvious - is there a way to complete your hack via the web version of Power BI only?
Oh, I see… I believe the difference in the code is the Implementation 2.0 in the code. If you add that to the code in the web version it might work. Need to check to be certain though…
I tried and it works, thanks for that. I'm not used to work in pbi service. How could I start an inform from here when my dataflow is already published?, Is it possible to get that data on pbi desktop?

Hi there was a few changes i needed to make to the custom function but i did get it working! Thank you. Unfortunately powerbi only retrieves 50 GA4 accounts and i have 400! @@CurbalEN

@@CurbalEN Yes that one helped me a lot when using UA, but does that one apply to GA4 as well?
I coded in Python and pull data via their API, write it to a local csv and upload it to the sharepoint folder, and then schedule it to run every day... It is not smart enough, but I've been using it for more than a year and the pipeline is pretty steady, until I realize I need to migrate to GA4....
Maybe the GA team has release the python code for GA4? 🤞🤞
@@CurbalEN Yeah, everything is there. I also tried it, it works. But the thing is that it is nearly impossible to migrate my historical data to my present dashboard. But my manager said he's okay with it. To us, UA is good enough with all the features we need.
But UA will stop collecting data this month. You need to migrate I am afraid!
