Actually, at first I really learn a lot because of you, but because of my toxic environment, i lost everything in my self, i just feel like now that i go to work, go back dormitory, work, it feels like my life ain’t going nowhere. Two years ago, my boss (my boyfriend now🤭🫣) the first time he to talk to his foreign employee (it’s me) ask me, why am I studying Chinese, why i want to study Chinese? I told him because i want to help my co workers, because a lot of my Filipino colleagues 不會講中文 🥺, and i also want to stay in Taiwan because of my abilities (because we just have 12 years to work here in Taiwan) . We work 12 hours and we don’t have permanent day of rest because we work 4 days and 兩天休息(4-2) I really want to go to school but i don’t have the time. But thanks to you , that time I discovered your channel and i self study, as I’ve told you in m my first message, I really don’t have the courage or inspiration to study now because of my toxic environment. 我的夢想把弄丟了😢 . So i just wish now please continue, and i hope to see you. I will try now to bring back what I’ve lost.
Hi Miss Lin, I really appreciate all the work you put into making these videos and your Chinese courses. I live in Taitung and I am one of your patreons doing your master spoken Chinese course. Other than these comments, where do I go if I want to ask you specific questions? I am trying to get better at using end sentence particles and I know you made a video about this but I wanted to ask about a few that you didn't cover. 喔, 嘍, 羅. Can you explain those? I am also on discord. Just don't know where I should be posting this question for you. Thank you Miss Lin!
Hello Jacob! I remember your name. Thanks for your support and I am glad to answer your questions. Just leave your questions directly on the course platform as a comment. I answered pretty fast there. Most students do so. Also you can email me mandarin.misslin@gmail.com Basically 喔 is commonly for a gentle reminder. 你的飲料好了喔 Your drink is ready! More examples 記得要吃藥喔!remember to take medicine 記得要帶雨傘喔!remember yo bring your umbrella Another usage of 喔 is to make instant comment such as the famous “so cute!” 好可愛喔 Or “oh it’s so spicy🌶 !” So you go 好辣喔! 嘍 =了喔 so I can also say 你的飲料好了喔 囉 and 嘍 are basically the same thing, same usage. 嘍 and 囉 give a more cheerful feel:) Please do not hesitate to email me if you have further questions. Thank you again for being my student. 老師
I want to move to Taiwan and I’ve wanted too for a while but I don’t know any Mandarin. Would the “Drops” app be good for learning “Taiwanese Mandarin”? Also what about the app “Pimsleur”?
If it’s helpful for you then it’s good learning materials. Just keep in mind that we use traditional Chinese characters:) My video of BOPOMOFO might give you a glimpse of what Taiwanese mandarin like ruclips.net/p/PLhRQEakQ5GX4ux05C5ljQOsrJON12plLi
I think, one can have different levels regarding different aspects of the language. For example, my reading skills can be considered pretty much advanced, since I can read a lot of articles and books almost without using a dictionary. However, in terms of listening, I'm much less confident, so I think it's upper intermediate at best. The same goes for speaking.
@@YuriyVashurin So what's your TOCFL band currently? I'm B2 and have a similar experience (reading and writing far ahead of listening and spoken). It's for this reason that I've halted my classes for a term, and have turned my focus to language exchange with native speakers. I hope I can even out the disparity as it was becoming daft.
