I like DIIV because they're a perpetual nostalgia band for me even though I wasn't into them when I was younger. It's like their sound has that quality that makes you feel young and confused again, but in a good way

Deceiver is my favorite album out of 2019! It has it all. Favorite song is Acheron! Where have I been as I just got introduced to this band about 6 months ago??? Love them and hope they can make it to Utah sometime this coming year.

diiv videos posted on this channel are the best. This album has a lot of great songs and while that’s not unusual for this band, I feel it’s a lot more stronger than their other ones because of the production values of this particular album. It’s so good 🥴

@@sabbrina17 The Metropolitan ("The Met") is a famous museum in NYC. The Sackler family is a very rich and powerful American family that has donated a lot of money to American museums/galleries, but also they have made a lot of their money by the production/selling of opiates. (When you donate a lot of money to a building/museum/hospital/whatever, you'll often have a 'wing'/area of the place named after you.) So I guess the lyrics here just reflect the contradiction of enjoying/having access to art/culture but at the price of opiates being produced/disseminated. "strung out" = on heroin.
