- This is video #083 in my Final Fantasy VII playthrough. The party travels northeast from Gongaga Village to Bone Village in the Icicle Area. This part of the continent doesn't look terribly icicly, but just you wait.
At Bone Village, the party learns some information about the City of the Ancients, the Sleeping Forest, Aeris, and Sephiroth. Then, it's time to dig for some buried treasure. First off, the party gets the archaeologists to excavate the Lunar Harp. Next, they find Vincent's Buntline, Cid's Mop, and a Megalixir. Buntline has fairly low attack power, but it has two pairs of linked slots and double materia growth. Very useful. Cid's Mop is much like the Nail Bat: high attack power, no materia slots.
After finding the treasure (most importantly the Lunar Harp), the party heads north into the Sleeping Forest. In the second screen of the forest, if you haven't done so yet, be sure to get the Kjata summon materia (Kujata in the PC version). The Lunar Harp will wake up the Sleeping Forest so that the party can continue into the Corral Valley. I guess Sephiroth and Aeris were able to get through because they were Ancients.
Be sure to pick up the Water Ring in the Corral Valley. This Ring will be useful very shortly. The Boundfat enemies have the Death Sentence enemy skill, if you didn't get it in the Cave of the Gi. The second screen of the Corral Valley is a stairway that leads to a valley on the World Map.

And they are going to remake all these fascinating locations like this bone village and the ancient forest, sleeping forest, Mt Nibel? Fantastic!! I have never played FF7, but googling the locations looks very promising and interesting. Adding the perfect combat system of FFXV will make FF7 to one of the most promising games in 2020.
When you have the Blue and Green Chocobos, race them in the Gold Saucer to raise their rank. Mating a Blue and Green Chocobo with a Carob Nut may provide a Black Chocobo.
Next, you will need a "wonderful chocobo", which can be caught in the Icicle Area. You need to catch a bird that is in front of two Hoppings (bunny enemies).
The Black Chocobo and "wonderful chocobo" should be raced until they are Rank A. Then they can be mated with the Zeio Nut to get a Gold Chocobo.
heorotlinea there's actually 8 treasures to be collected in the bone village, which the lunar harp is one of them.
However some are timed by events to story. Lunar Harp & W-Item Materia.
By the way, that's the only Mime materia the game gives you. If you want more, you'll have to master the blasted thing.

There is not a fast way, short of using cheat codes. To get blue, green, and black chocobos, you must breed them. My chocobo breeding starts at #141. To get blue and green chocobos, you need to get a Good Chocobo from near Gold Saucer and a Great Chocobo from near Mideel. Mating a Good and a Great Chocobo with a Carob Nut may provide a Blue or Green Chocobo. Racing the chocobos at the Gold Saucer and increasing their rank will improve your chances of getting a blue or green chick.
Congrats! Catching the wonderful chocobo can be a pain. It only shows up on the chocobo tracks in the Icicle Area southwest of Icicle Inn. If the chocobo is in the front row with one or two Hoppings in the back row, then it is a wonderful chocobo. If the chocobo is in the back row, or if it is any other enemy configuration in the Icicle Area, it will be a poor chocobo.
The Mime materia is on the Wutai continent. About halfway down the eastern side, a peninsula juts out to the east. There is a materia cave on this peninsula.

It sounds like the next place you need to go is the Temple of the Ancients. I show how to get to the Temple from Gold Saucer in video #076, starting around 9:36. The temple is on a forested island southeast of the Gold Saucer area. Essentially, just take the Tiny Bronco east from the river south of the Saucer.
When you are breeding chocobos, it is also important to save before each breeding attempt. If you don't get the chocobo color and gender you want, you will be able to reset the game and try again.

Aeris is in my party at this moment in the game, how come in your game she went in the sleeping forest by herself?
so jeffrey sorry for replying late but i just saw this video right now. you can actually go to the bone village as soon as you obtain the tiny bronco.and still have Aeris in your party because you're basically going there before the storyline but you cannot enter the forest and neither dig cause these features are only available AFTER you go to the temple and activate that story line. After that, when you go back/to the bone village, Aeris won't be available anymore
I completed the game 3 times and I still haven't completed all the achievements
Owen that's exactly what i'm doing right now xD i only have 3 achievements to go. I honestly have more than 3 but mainly getting the limit breaks for the other chars which i basically collected that as one, then max gil and max lvl with 1 char :P

Explanation? I have aeris, and the dude wont give me dialogue to search for the harp. What did you do different?
You have to come back after the events at the Temple of the Ancients. Aeris should not be with you then.
