I am the honest vocal coach! I have been teaching for 15 years and been singing since I was 16. I teach from my own studio and also teach and mentor via email, and online via Live & Skype. Honestly throughout sweetener tour Ariana has shown that she can actually sing with a balanced mix and power. Her consistency with her vocal and with her notes are insane, probably the best consistency seen in a tour, hitting bb5 almost every night since she started. She would create new adlibs and runs that are pretty insane. Her agility and support have literally blew through the roof at this tour and honestly if she did have a bad technique her voice would’ve started showing damage around the 20th show, but it’s already been 75 something shows.
Her support has gone higher than ever before and she is finally adding c5 back into her supported range again

AllAriana yeah, if it you compare it to dwt you can tell the difference, I feel like her high notes during dwt were a bit more tense or tight while sweetener tour sounds very relaxed and easy for her so there was definently a difference.
vivian losernoobXD the light tone for hmt went to a darker tone for dwt and Ari returned with a lighter tone.

Both were good, but technically and when you know that Ariana is belting Bb5, A5’s, G#5´s and G5... at every single show i give the won to her. She’s one of the only artists who gets better every show on tour and doesn’t get tired. Her improvement is massive.
A i personally think Ariana improved as arist vocalist and performer. Not saying she's health troubles. So overral i agree, although i would like if she focused more on her technique. Anyway im proud of her.

Agree that Demi always sounds like she’s working SO HARD & that’s not always better. Also, I just prefer Ariana’s voice over Demi’s....a personal preference.
Fr. People say Demi’s more “emotional” and “powerful” but really it’s just because she strains. It’s so raspy and whiny and honestly just because Ariana’s voice is lighter doesn’t mean it’s not fuller. Ariana’s voice is much fuller.
I was never a huge fan of Ari's music, but she started to change my mind after she released "thank u, next" album and went on a Sweetener World Tour. That tour, oh my god, her technique improved a lot. Her vocals were amazing, the stage presence was on point, and the performances of each song were outstanding. She really blew me away. I think she's in my top 3 favorite singers list now. And i've been listening to each of her album since the past 4 or 5 months. And yeah, i gotta go with Ari. Demi is good, but Ari's improvement is something else.

Me12342010 ariana has more ease, more support, more use of registers, less tension, less high larynx, LESS SHOUTY, better technique in general while demi has less support, doesnt use all of her registers, no ease compared to ari, HIGH LARYNX, SHOUTY (!), unhealthy tremolo. ariana wins hunny.

Markus E Ariana’s voice is amazing as very few singers can sing that high. Ariana’s music is always fresh and new and has meaning with not only her experiences with past events but also with her anxiety and depression. The breathin clips for bb5 looked the same but I don't think they were because she's done like 5 of those this tour live. Some of them are lipped though bc it's a lot of strain to do that kind of note daily but I know at least 3 are live. Anyways 'm rambling. sorry lol

@@eyvvyrblx3791 I'm sorry to tell you this but the bb5 are not lipped. only the whistles are lipped in most performances (like 70% - 80%). you can tell cuz in some performances she kind of sustains the bb5 a little bit, whereas sometimes she went flat, and also added connected runs to the end of the bb5, adding vocal creativity. if it was lipped it can be seen easily that tit was lipped and extra runs and differences won't be possible. so...

Bora Özkan it’s not how much we love ariana it’s just how the notes are sung. in this video, ariana won. but the f5 for demi was just omg so beautiful
They are both really good, but Ariana's improvement is insane. She showed us that she can support up to Eb5 and also she is one of the most consistent singer of this generation. After more than 70 shows she gets better and better. Also I think Ariana has a better mix register and she manages to keep her tone up to her highest notes (on the other hand I'm not a fan of Demi's voice after F5/F#5)

They are both at the top. I think Ariana's technique gives her more consistency than Demi, but when Demi is having a good vocal day her high belts are unmatched. They have different voices and approaches to singing. Demi has a weightier tone and goes more for a full chest belt sound, while Ariana is more okay with thinning out the sound with more of a heady mix. If you were to judge them on their lower register Demi would win. Head voice Ariana would win. Both are incredible. It's just what you like more I think. What I have seen with these videos is that singer's like Demi have a much stronger mid belt than Ariana, and then Ariana sweeps them away with the extreme high belts and her highest head notes and whistle tones.
Demi with 100+ sustained A5s (only in Sorry Not Sorry; not counting the ones in Concentrate and Smoke and Mirrors). The era she outdid herself 👏. And learned mixing way better than she used to. BUT ARIANA!!! SHE JUST. UGH. MY WIG IS SNATCHEDT. LIKE GURL GIVE ME ONE CONCERT THAT'S NOT UP TO PAR VOCALLY! sweetener tour has been the tour of highest consistency for her. like, just wow.
p.s. not to forget Demi's drug usage as well that time. it affected her voice pretty bad. she picked up some rasp by the end of the era. but her second last concert before the od was like, the best one! huge, HUGE improvement. and discovering her Bb5s. let's give her some time to control them better bc she just started hitting those live. remember the case with her A5s as well? and now, here we are with so many A5s. so maybe she'll get the Bb5s down in the mere future as well, I hope 🤞🏻

3:10 Demi: Tense and not very controlled + forced vibrato. Ariana: Controlled, natural vibrato, more open and stable.
4:37 Demi: Pushed and strained. Ariana: better mix (lighter) and much more ease.
5:02 Demi: A little pushed but good. Ariana: Better mix, much more complex with a better mix.
7:46 Demi: Pushed, tight, kind of pitchy. Ariana: More control and lighter mix.

I actually went to the Sweetener Tour last Saturday and her voice was amazing. So clear and polished and the Bb5 that she did on the song ”Breathin” is just amazing! Overall such a talented singer.
Both are great but demi has this special thing in her tone that wins me over every time
The Bb5 is literally the highest belting note Demi can hit plus how she sang it is how the studio one is executed

I think ari found her niche now. She sings her mid belts with more chest and her upper notes are more heady to ease off the pressure.
Must say, for Demi's last note attempts. This is her highest belted note she has tried live, from her song with Xtine (Fall In Line). She already said she can't really do it live, it's a super hard climax, super hard song, and such a high belt. She kinda messed up performing this song live with her idol, Xtina for the 1st time. Then when tour started, she wouldn't go for it at all. But with time she started attempting it and adding more notes to make up for it, and you could really see how much she tries to get there live every time. She got better with every attempt tho

@Luciferish Tingz She definitely beats Demi at upper belts. She and Jessie are on the same level. Tori's agility is better but she's more of a mid belter, and the same applies to JoJo (I just adore JoJo's tone and resonance in her mid range 😍).
So yeah, I'd definitely say Ariana's easily in the top two when it comes to upper range belting.
P.S. I'm so proud of her for supporting up to E5 occasionally (and yes, I know JoJo has supported up to F5, Ari's upper belts are still better OVERALL). This was all said with respect to each and every artist mentioned, and to you as well. I was just being straight forward with the facts.

Demi was going through a hard time physically and mentally so she wasn't her best and was pushing it but whenever she's doing better and can focus on her vocals she's insane! It's just a battle with herself as a person and her struggles.

I think Ariana should win because her belted notes are clearer and have more ease. Even though Demi slayyys above F5 at times she tends to go a little bit throaty and a bit strained. Ariana on a bad a vocally, extreme high belts can be slightly shouty as well. But these to Queens don't have bad days very often so who cares. Demi is better at low notes( Lowest support note E3 and consistantely down to F#3)Head voice(consistent support up to G#5!!!) and mid belts(Consistent support up to C5). Ari is better at upper belts(ease up to G#5) falsetto(Ease up to Eb6) and whistle tones( Comfortable up to B6). But if I were 2 choose I would go for Ariana because vocally the things that Demi is better at Ariana almost is just as good. And with Demi she can't whistle with full control and she doesn't use falsetto that much at all. So I would go 4 Ariana

I think that these two are the two bests vocalists of our generation ! But just to say that I think that Demi got as better as Ari in belts/ mix. Demi throughout the whole tour was litteraly looking bored hitting G5’s and G#5,s she gained so much ease. And they both balanced they’re mixed voices. The only thing is that Ariana is better at falsetto. But overall they are both awesome.

i prefer ariana. the reason why she’s become my favorite is because she sounds very crisp, if that makes sense. demi seemed to be cracking- or at least it sounded like it when she avoided high notes.... they both have pretty voices, but there’s a reason ariana runs pop ☕️

ariana definitely wins. she has better technique, more ease, more support, more use of registers, less tension, less high larynx, LESS SHOUTY while demi has less support, doesnt use all of her registers, no ease compared to ari, HIGH LARYNX, SHOUTY (!), unhealthy tremolo.

Yeah ari’s Bb5s are always on point. Her A5s in NTLTC less so but the Bb5s are even sustained and THAT HIGH. ari is incredible and im so happy this clip used recent videos from the sweetener world tour
The 2 A5 in ntltc are incredible but a little bit less. But she hit only 1 A5 in ntltc is this is more impressive and amazing
