- In this video I shall discuss about Measures of DISPERSION. Dispersion denotes the spread of data set. Central tendency describes the data in a single typical value mean, median or mode It does not describe the data set completely i.e it does tell us about the spread of individual values around a central value. This spread or scatter of values around a central values is given by dispersion. There are measures of dispersion for individual observations or sample observations.
Measures of dispersion for individual observations include range, interquartile range, standard deviation, variance, coefficient of variation. Out of these the most important one is standard deviation which is asked as mcq. It is root mean square of deviation.
