- In this video I shall discuss about types of estimation, hypothesis testing, STATISTICAL errors TYPE I and TYPE II, p value. Estimation is the process of estimating an unknown population parameter from a known sample statistic. Hyptothesis is an assumption that needs to be verified. Hypothesis testing is the process that helps us decide whether population parameter is same as the sample statistic or there is a difference between population parameter and sample statistic. Null hypothesis does not show any treatment or association effect and alternate hypothesis shows an association or treatment effect.
Statistical errors are of two types. Type I error is when the null hypothesis is true but it is rejected. Type II error is null hypothesis if false but accepted. Type I error is more serious.
How much of an error that can be allowed is denoted by propbablity or p. Probablity denotes how much of a statistical error we can allow or denotes the evidence against rejecting a null hypothesis.
By convention it has been set as 5% or level of significance is 5%.
you demystify the concepts very clearly. i learned a lot . it was a great help
Thank you very much you can't imagine how much helpful was your statistics notes
Thank you so much, ma'am. really simplied the concept for me
Thank you so much ma'am! This was really helpful.
Very Nice Video. Thanks Dr Taneja.
This is apt!. Great job!
Nicely explained.
Thankyou so much for sharing your knowledge. Please tell us how to select currect statistical test in step wise manner.
Thank you mam,the way you taught helped me a lot to understand 😊
Excellent ma'am. Keep making awesome videos. These videos are not only helpfull for MCQs but also DNB theory exam in all subjects.. where 1st paper deals with stats
Thanku so much
thank you so much maam your method of teaching is super
Ur welcome
Very nice and lucid explanation ma'am... thank you so much
Great work
Dr
Neha i have leaned alot from you
About statistics
The way you explain is outstanding salute you
Thanku so much
nice, also make a video on forest plot and meta-analysis
Thank u so much ma'am 😍
Really useful. Thanks Dr Taneja.
Thanku
well explained....kudos.....upload more on epidemiological problems
Thanku so much..will upload more videos soon

Love u so much mam 😘
Hello ma'am. Dr Sujal here Public Health Dentist. Nice to see ur theory class. Can you try to make video of logistic regression crude OR and adjusted OR through SPSS? Or can you explain difference between these. Waiting for such video. Thanks 🙏
Thank you so much ma'am..! Can across your channel while searching for any means of making stat easy to understand..! I'm so glad I did..! Really helpful videos.. thank you so much..! Could you please explain meta analysis in the upcoming videos ? Thank you once again..!
Sure dear...
U can also enroll for my courses on Unacademy...I am a faculty there...my crash course starts from 2nd august on PSM. The same to me, I think you'd better make a playlist related to statistic concepts as those are also important for other fields like data science where I'm getting involved.
Thanks a lot. 🙏
you are awesome mam very nice explanation
Thanks
Thanks mam ., your teaching method
Ur welcome
Mam you have nicely explained the non parametric test I want to ask you that in diabetes patients polyuria polydipsia polyphagia has been graded as 0- No, Mild -1, Moderate 2, severe -3 in this case which test will be used for analysis and, mean sd may be calculated or not from this grading.please clarify the same. Thanks Dr Ehsan Rauf, Research Associate Unani, Central Research Institute of Unani Medicine, Lucknow
Also mam please make video on Cox regression I m not getting it what it is ... Ur videos are so easy to understand that they clear basics very beautifully
Thanks dear...will definitely discuss regression soon!
Thanku so much
Ma'am didn't understood the last concept- larger the p value lesser the evidence of rejecting Null hypotheses. Can you please elaborate
Very well explained!
thank you!
Thank you madam. Please put some videos regarding National Health programmes.and recent updates in psm.
@@rajum1350 thanks so much...will make the videos soon
very gud
Ma'am is test of significance different from hypothesis testing ????
Thanks ma’am
U r genius mam
Thanks
Mam Thank you so much for making these tough concepts understandable 🙏🏻 I had 1 doubt if anyone could help …….in conclusion mam said “smaller the p value more is the evidence AGAINST REJECTING null hypothesis”….. but as far as I can understand if p value is less than 5% results are statistically significant and in that case null hypothesis is rejected….am I getting it wrong?
Well done mam . Please taught about metaanalysis
Thanks...will teach meta-analysis soon!
Ma’am, if p value is the probability of REJECTING the Ho( meaning there is a difference between the comparing groups) shouldn’t that mean more the p value, greater will be the chances that the study we did (ie., saying that there is a difference between the 2 drugs for eg) is more significant?? But you said the lesser the p value greater is the significance of the result of the study. Could you please explain mam?
Thank u mum so much i made it easy god bless u
Ur welcome!
@@drnehataneja a great honr to recive s text from u 😘😘😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰🥰😘😘❤✋🎉🎆🎊🎆🎉🎊

Mje jo Vit D effect dekhna vo null hypothesis h or alternative hypothesis h...
Maam i read some where type 2 is more serious because we don't launch a new drug in market which is more benefical for the pt
Please clear my doubt
Thank you mam .I really like ur teaching style .plz upload more vedios .
Sure thanku so much!

Thanks dear...have put out videos on few health programs' like rntcp, NPCDCS, new child health initiatives, new maternal health initiatives...shall put out more
@@drnehataneja yes maam . I have seen that video. It's very helpful too. Maam I am having a problem in understanding the 4th mcq of your next video on this topic . Please help it to understand. TYIA
Mam is there any link for complete lecture of psm
No link as such...I'm trying to cover as soon as possible all the lectures of public health.
Ok thanks mam
mam what is the difference between alpha and p value?
For easy understanding, BEFORE running a test suppose you estimate a probable estimation of error is called P value. Now AFTER running that test you calculated the total error is @ error (both are type 1) . So now if comes P@ = significant
