Classification of variables/scales of measurement/PSM/fmge /neetpg/COMMUNITY MEDICINE/BIOSTATISTICS

In this video I shall discuss about the remaining classifications of variables. Variables can be further classified into continuous and discreet variables. Continuous variables can take up many values and also have in-between values eg height, weight. Discrete variables have fewer values and no in-between values. Eg blood group, anemia.
Scales of measurement are classified into 2 broader categories. Categorical scale and dimensional scale. Categorical scale is further classified into nominal scale and ordinal scale. Dimensional scale is further classified into metric scale.

At 2:16, Blood group and gender have been mentioned as discrete variable, but both gender and blood group are qualitative variable, while discrete is the type of quantitative variable. Kindly help to clear doubt. It is my curiosity to know that my previous concept regarding types of variable is true or not. I will be thankful for your reply and thanks a lot ma'am for sharing your valuable knowledge and taking time to educate all of us.
